Adele - Episode 7

 

     'IF i should eat anything more my tummy will revolt' adele jokingly said, 'you don't eat enough, your tummy is not even coming out' mrs adepitan pointed out to her. Adele has being working in Coker Richard Technology close to two months now, and she has become friends with people in the Company, Mrs Adepitan had invited her for lunch at the company cafetaria. They chatted for awhile after they had finished their lunch, both of them went back to their office . As they entered Richard called Adele into his office, 'i want you to pick my daughter from school and bring her here, my driver will take you' adele was surprised because she has never pick the boss daughter from school before, for he normally sent the houseboy to take her home.  'my house boy is feeling a little bit under the weather, he normally picks emmenuella after school'  he explained to her. 'no problem sir' and she left.
    
      Adele was impressed with the sight of the school when she saw it, it only the rich that can afford such school for their kids,  she muttered within herself, she went to the school security man to let him know who she came for, emmanuella was brought out by her class teacher who had been called earlier by richard that its adele that will come for his daughter. Adele was struck with how beautiful and cute the girl is, emmanuella looked at her curiously, 'have never seen you before, who are you?' she demanded, 'yes you haven't am adele your father's personal assistant, have being asked by your father to  bring you to his office

. Emmanuella entered her father's car after sizing adele up and decided that she likes her.
    'how is school today?' adele asked her, and like any five year old she was excited to tell her, they were both chatting when they arrived at the office, she was so excited to see her dad, for she does not often come to his office.
     When Mrs adepitan saw her she smiled at her, 'ella, darling how are you?'  'am fine ma'  ella beamed back at her. ' you don't even ask of me' mrs adepitan formed a sad face,  'am sorry' 'okay have forgiven you, hope you had a nice day at school today?'  'yes'.
 the girl nodded emphatically.  

         Richard was in a meeting when they arrived, he was having a meeting concerning the new software they were working on. The programmers are working day and night, so richard goes home late most of the time now. It has being awhile since he has time for ella and he felt he is neglecting his fatherly duties.
          
         Adele decided to take the girl to the cafetaria to buy snacks for her since her father is still busy. She allowed her to select what she wants, ella was excited and she even liked her more especially when adele bought her favourite icecream flavor.

. 'thank you ma'  ella said enthuastically, adele find herself even loving her more, she noticed that the girl is some how starved for motherly love and she feels they had that in common.
    ''how come my daddy never invites you over to our house since you are his personal assistant?' ella pointed out to her, adele was amused by the girl's question she knew it due to the fact that she explained the roles of a PA to her a moment ago, 'well sweetie it because your daddy did not see any reason for me to come over to your house, yes am his personal assistant but my work is majorly in the office, it only if your dad needs me to come over to the house for something crucial that i will come'.  The girl looked overwhelmed by her answer and she was not satisfied for she has taken a likening for adele, and she want her around.
      After awhile they went back to the office, by then the meeting had ended. 'how is my favourite girl doing?' richard smiled at his daughter, 'am your only girl' she giggled, she sat on her father's lap and told him all the exciting things that happened at school, including the fun she had with adele. 'dad why don't you invite her to our house?' she implored him,  Richard was baffled with the kind of instant attachment she had with adele, for she does not get attached to people easily, not to talk of after meeting them the first time.
       'You must have really enjoyed yourself then, do you like her that much?' 'yes i do daddy'  'But you should know that she might not accept' richard tried to explain to her, 'just ask her first' ella said hopefully.
  Richard is looking for ways to deflect her, for he realised that he is attracted to adele, and so he did not want to complicate things by inviting her over to his house.  
          
       Adele got home early, for it friday and her boss decided to let her go home on time, since her service is no longer needed for the day, she changed her cloth into a more comfortable indoor cloth and went out to the living room, her aunty children were there and they are happy to see her come home on time, she was playing with them, asking them about their studies, when somebody knocked on the door, adele went out to check who it was when she saw femi she was surprised for he did not call her before showing up, 'hello femi come in, i didn't expect to see you' she stepped aside for him to come in,  'hi, i just decided to check on you' he replied.  Adele was not in the mood to talk to him, but since he had showed up without letting her know before hand there is nothing she can do, than to entertain him. 
        They sat outside , and they started talking, he asked her about her job, she responded stiffly, he knew that things were not working between them and he is looking for ways to work things out, but he did not know how to go about it, and to even apologise was difficult for him. So he kept talking about how time consuming his job was, telling her about the economy like she wasn't aware of it already.
She almost screamed at him to shut up, but she kept her calm and just decided to be replying him with a monosyllable answer. When he exhausted all the topics he can think of and adele was not even conversing with him, he decided to leave. Adele walked him to the gate 'thanks for coming' she said dully'  Femi summoned his courage and ask her,  'are you still angry with me? For you hadly spoke to me'  adele was surprised that he even asked her such question, ' why will i be angry ? When it not like you did anything wrong' she replied mockingly.  he has never seen her behave like that before, he was surprised.  Adele was getting irritated ' see just go, ok am tired i just got home not long ago, i need to rest, and please call me before coming over again' Femi was angry 'so you are now saying am disturbing you, it because i came here thats why you are insulting me'' adele was amused by his reaction, 'you know what, don't even come here again, since your ego won't allow you to apologise, am tired of being in a relationship that will not give me peace and joy' she replied .  'i knew it, you are arrogant, am leaving now i hope you will come back to your senses'  femi said arrogantly and left.
      Adele could not just understand how somebody that present himself to be so sweet could be the other way round, she made up her mind to break all contact with him.
