Adele - Episode 13

 

The day break like any other day, but for Adele it is a special day for it marks the sixth month anniversary of Richard and her, and she has being enjoying it all the way. He has proved to her on so many occasion that he is a good man, adele can't believe she is that lucky. But she is scared at the same time and she keeps waiting for the shoe to drop,  Ever since they have started dating she has stopped working for him as his personal assistant, and she has been transferred to another department so has not to cause any gossip, though she miss their working together she knows it for the best, her relationship with ella kept waxing strong every day and after meeting with richard's family she knew she could not be happier.

    Richard opened the blue box again to stare at the beautiful ring, the early morning sun cut through the diamond stone and it was captivating, he knew it will be beautiful on adele's finger. He reflects back to their times together since they have started dating with happiness,  and he knows that she is fit to be his daughter mother, he is so in love with her, even Ella and his family loves her and that is what gave him the confidence that it time to propose to her . He had already told his new personal assistant to book a place for him at the top class restuarant where he plan to propose to Adele.

. He has already consult his daughter and she was excited to know that adele will be her new mum very soon, so all that remains is for him to make the move tonight. 
     He was brought back to reality when his secretary came in to remind him of the meeting he has with the  investors. Richard could not wait for the meeting to be over for his mind is not in it, his thought was preoccupied on how he is going to propose and what the reaction of adele will be. Richard forced his attention back to the meeting, ''ofcourse, and we all agreed that it worth waiting for''. 
        
      Adele was just preparing to leave the office when Richard called her mobile, ''Hi dearie, i was about to come to your office before heading home, how are you?'' ''Am fine darling, i just want to let you know that i made a dinner reservation for us this evening, am sorry am just telling you now have been busy, and i want to tell you personally'' '' It alright darling am sure i will get something good to wear, and am glad you asked me personally'' she smiled, ''So since we are cool, i will pick you up 7pm, love you loads'' ''okay i will be waiting, love you more, bye.'' 

       She was still deliberating on what to wear, when her aunty came in, ''Adele a package just came in for you and i think richard sent it'' '' really, let me have it'' she opened it to find a beautiful red gown, they were both dazed for the gown is lovely. ''wow see all those stone around the neck, it must be very expensive and am sure you will look like a princess in it''. Adele rushed to her phone to call richard, ''hey sweet just got your package thank you so much, it beautiful i love it'' ''you are welcome my love, am sure you will look gorgeous in it and i will be the envy of everyone tonight.''  After they have said their goodbyes adele started dressing up for it seems as if the time is running and she did not want to keep him waiting when he arrive.   
        He arrived 7pm exactly, and by then adele too was ready, and after promising her aunt that she won't be too late to get back home they left. ''sweetie you look stunning in that dress, i just have to close my mouth'' richard commentend, ''well i have you to thank for it'' she demurely answered, she was just blushing all the way.

       Richard was a little bit nervous, but he was not showing it, the waiter came with their desert and after he has left richard signal to the band and they start playing a slow love song, and before adele knows it he is on bended knees with a ring, she was dazed with her mouth hanging open, ''adele from the first day you entered my office have been blown away, and not only me but my daughter as well, i love you and i promise to take care and respect you please will you do me the honour of marrying me?''  The ring was winking at her. 'omg, i don't know what to say' ' just say yes love'   tears was just streaming down her face by the time she finally find her voice to say yes. ''yes,yes,yes i will marry you''  the whole room burst into applause, as richard slid the ring into her finger, he stood and kiss her  the couple were oblivious to everything else, for they were engrossed in the longest liplock.
    After the excitment in the resturant has died down the couple ordered for a champaign to celeberate.  'you have made me the happiest man you know, i don't know how Ella will be able to sleep tonight, she will be so excited'   He said with glee.

    Excitement was written all over her face, her neice and nephew rushed to greet her; ''sis, welcome'  ''thank you; how are you?, and where is mum?'' she ask them as she dropped her hand purse, ''she is in the kitchen'' adele walked into the kitchen to greet bibiola, ''dear you are back i was the dinner, hope you had a great time, and from the look on your face it seems you did''  adele could not help her self she bust into laughter ''he proposed'' she showed her the beautiful engagement ring, ''oh my God this beautiful, am so happy, i can't wait to share the good news with your uncle, am sure he will be so happy, congratulations dear''. 

   Adele could not sleep a wink the whole night, she kept turning around for she was still feeling the euphoria that comes along with the proposal. 
  "if not because it late i would have called Tiwa" she muttered. It was in this restless state she was that sleep finally claimed her.
