Twisted Twice, Twisted Mine - Episode 36

 

Adee.

I run down the stairs, my rainbow colored scarf flying behind me, I run out and stop, I run back in, I forgot my shoes, and my purse and money, let's not forget money this time.

I quickly write a note explaining to my parents that I will be out for a while, I remember to tell them not to worry, I will be fine.

I'm sure they will be appropriately shocked that I'm going out.

I run out the house, and past the gate into the street and he's standing there beside his car, he's wearing a white sleeve that is rolled up and tucked into a black jeans, he has on white sneakers and I feel those butterflies in my stomach again.

Am I coming down with something? I pat my stomach as I walk to him and he notices me.

"Do you live here?" He asks,nodding towards the house and I nod.

"Yes, I live alone most times" I say and he nods.

"I didn't have to know that Adélie"

"What?"

"Its obvious you are rich, I didn't have to know that you live alone, I didn't have to know that, you don't go around telling that to strangers"He says.

" But you are not a stranger, not anymore "I say, confused.

" I'm aware of that fact Adélie, but you don't go around telling others that okay? "

" Okay"

"Good girl, now get in the car"

"Okay!" 

I get in the car and he does too, leaning over to fasten my seat belt. 

His eyes his so close and his face too, his eyes are the color of ocean, blueish green with flecks of silver. 

"Shiny" I breath and his face comes up to mine, we are so close that if I stick out my tongue it will touch his nose. 

"What's shiny cat?" He asks softly. 

"Your eyes, they look like the ocean" He smiles and flicks my nose before leaning away. 

My stomach gets those butterflies again and I pat it. 

"Where are the we going?" I ask, looking around the interior of the car. 

"The restaurant" My eyes go to him. 

"Why didn't you call me since?" 

He doesn't respond. 

"Aren't you going to answer me?" 

"I was busy" He says simply. 

"Okay" I say looking away, my chest feels tight at his answer and I don't know why,why does it hurt? 

He glances at me and I look at him. 

He sighs. 

"I'm sorry I didn't call you cat, I had to meet up with my father, okay?" This explanation makes me feel better so I nod and smile. 

"What are we going to do in the restaurant?" I ask. 

"I'm going to teach you how to make a simple dish and when I'm done we are going out, we have somewhere to be" 

He says, glancing at me again. 

"Where are we going to?" 

"It's a surprise" 

"I don't like surprises" I say, my mood changing as memories fill my head.

"Trust me, yeah? Its going to be fine" He says, grabbing my hands and squeezing them. 

I nod. 

We drive for a little while before I ask. 

"Vance?" 

"Yeah?" 

"What's mother fucker?" 

"Where did you hear that?" 

"In a movie" 

"What movies do you watch?" 

"Any kind" I say and he throws me a dark look. 

"Adélie, mother f*cker is a word you should never say and listen to okay?" 

"Okay" 

"Good, next time I'm at your house I'm going to through the restrictions on your cable, we have to ease you into this thing called adult hood" 

I don't get one thing he is saying but I nod and smile because he said we.

Vance.

I watch her dance around my kitchen In one of my sweater and I shake my head. 

She managed to get sauce on her clothes and the kitchen downstairs so we had to come upstairs. 

"Are you that happy?" I ask. 

She nods, licking another finger stained with stew. 

"I made a sauce! Me!" She says. 

Let's not forget the trial and errors we underwent, it took us 4 times to get the seasoning just right. 

This one is the only passable one. 

"Won't you have some pasta?" She asks and I shake my head, sipping my wine. 

"Why can't I have the blood thing?" She asks

"Blood thing?"  I ask. 

"The blood thing you are drinking" 

"It's called wine, Adélie and you can't have the blood thing because we have to get you ready, we are going out remember?" 

"But I don't have any clothes.." 

"We are going to get some on the way" She nods and continues with her food. 

When I decided to make Adélie pose as my girlfriend I really can't remember but I know she's gonna be the one I'm taking to go see my father. 

She has the right amount of naivety to pull it off. 

She's gonna hit my father with her cuteness and she's gonna hit Diana with her spunk. 

Since Louis already told the old man I have a girlfriend it will be just fine, and besides, when the heirlooms get bestowed on her I can just get them. 

She trusts me. 

This plan is foolproof, easy peasy.

Let the games begin.
