Twisted Twice, Twisted Mine - Episode 31

 

Adee.

The bread rolls come and I gently pick one... Ohh it's warm.

I break it and dip into the olive oil before I take a bite.

Wow... It tastes... It tastes...like heaven.

I chew slowly and eat slowly to make sure it doesn't finish.

A cart rolls up to my table as I finish the last bite of bread and the man places my food in front of me and I feel saliva pull at my mouth.

Wow.. The steak looks like the mother of all steaks, I grab my knife and fork and I cut the beef into tiny little pieces first before I begin to eat. 

I take a bite of my potatoes and I almost die. . It's unbelievably fluffy and sweet. Delicious! 

I clear my plate in no time and I still am not full, I beckon at the waiter and I ask for a... Chessy burger. 

He nods with a smile and soon places a plate of hot burgers and fries in front of me,there's diet cola too. Wow, this guy is my new best friend. 

I dig in and as I do, I peruse the menu for anything else I can order, I have to eat for reserve. 

I finish the burger, some fish cake soup, some cold chicken soup, some hand cut noodles, some iced chocolate for dessert and I'm finally full. 

I seat back and pat my stomach, good girl.. You took all of that food in.

. Good girl. I look around and I see that the restaurant is almost empty and that it's dark outside. Wow, this people blinded me with food. 

The waiter appears in front of me and I smile at him, he smiles back. 

"Seems you are done with your food ma'am" I almost giggle, he called me ma'am again, it's like something someone should call my mother. 

"No need to call me that sir, we are friends now, you can call me Adélie" He smiles and he slides a piece of paper in front of me. 

I pick it up and frown. 

"What is this?" 

"Your bill ma'am" He says cheerfully. 

"My bill?" 

"Yes ma'am" 

"But... I.. I thought the food was free"

Vance. 

"Vance.. Quick, you have to come see something unbelievably hilarious" I lift my head from inspecting the new batch of potatoes that just came in to look at my secretary and step brother and I raise my eyebrow. 

First, he works for me and I didn't think we were that close to be on first name bases, secondly he's my step brother, we've only just met and I didn't think we were that close to be on first name bases. Do you get where I'm going with this? 

But still I say nothing as I untie my apron, I swear to God, when dad asked me to leave America and come back home this was not what I signed up for. 

Also I pray to God it's something irrelevant so that I can tell him to boot it, because, one,this is my establishment, I don't have time to waste, two, because he's my step brother and I don't like him in my establishment. 

I walk through the kitchen door into the restaurant and I'm surprised the wait staff is still around, it's a half day, I asked them to close early. 

I bite my lip ring gently in thought as my boots take me to the spectacle. 

Louis is almost jumping out of his sneakers in excitement, I turn to the wait staff and they move away when they see me. 

My first impression of the situation is that I really don't want to know what ever is going on. My second impression is that I really want to know who made this girl look this scared. 

"I.... I... Didn't know.. I.. I'm... Sorry.. I can....

. Pay... In.. I... Just...don't..." She bites on her lip and I know that exact spot is going to bleed. 

"What is going on?" 

"Boss.. The lady has refused to pay her bills" One of the waiters say and the sympathy I feel towards her drains. 

I turn cold eyes on her, silently rolling on of my centurion rings. 

"Lady.. Pay your bills" I say to her and she wipes the tears off her face. 

God, I hate weak people.. I really do, what I hate most are people who know they are weak and still they exploit it. 

"I.. Don't have any money on me" She says, I turn to Louis. 

"How much is the bill?" He answers giddily. 

"A thousand, five hundred dollars" I raise an eyebrow, what did she order? filet mignon? 

"What did she order?" 

"Fillet mignon sir, amongst other things" the waiter answers and I nod, still rolling my ring. 

I look her over, she's dressed in brand labels so definitely she has the money to pay but just not right now. 

Probably ate all of that and expected her sugar daddy to show up but alas. 

I wave off the wait staff and Louis and I pull a chair to me. I take my seat. 

"Look..lady.. You are going to pay your bills one way or another, you have to pay... That's all" 

She lifts her eyes and I see the panic in them, pathetic, I hate people who can't own up to their mistakes. 

"What can I do? Can't I go and come back tomorrow? I promise to bring back the money" 

And I promise to give all my life savings to an orphanage if only I can go back to America but we don't all get what we want. 

"Money..now" 

"I don't..." 

"You've said that, stand up, follow me" 

She picks her scarf and purse and follows me. 

I lead her to the kitchen and point at the sack of potatoes. 

"Peel all of them and you are free to go" 

She looks appalled, pride? Welcome, you've met your match. 

"But I've never done that before" 

"Pay up then" 

"I don't have any money" 

"Peel up then" 

I give her an apron, a knife and a wave. 

"You can knock on that door whenever you get done so I can open the door for you to go out "

I say to her, pointing to the door that leads to my upstairs apartment, she just looks shell shocked.

I leave her to it and exit.
