Twisted Twice, Twisted Mine - Episode 29

 

Adeline.

It's almost past two in the morning and I'm up with Adee, we've been through almost all of our memories, catching up we say but really we don't want to be away from each other.

I tell her how after the kidnappers hit her unconscious how they took me away and locked me in a barrel for a week, how I had to survive on rain water coming in from the top, I had to make sure I didn't make a noise because they didn't like it.

How the other children were taken away by some men and other times by women, how I had almost drowned and was left for dead when the police raided the warehouse.

I guess the reason my parents couldn't find me was because they had thought a rival of theirs had taken me,I had been taken by child traffickers, they couldn't take adélie because she fought, I had gone with them, I had been taken to another state but miraculously found my way back to this state.

If only.. If only I had had my memories. . Maybe things would have been different.

Adélie tells me how she refused to step out of the house after the police closed the case, how she didn't move or live because of her guilt, how our family lost itself because I was gone. 

We cry some more before we eventually fell asleep at day break.

Levi. 

I enter the kitchen from my jog to see Addie standing by the counter whispering into the phone. 

I couldn't stay still because I was away from her for the night, I just had to jog, Aaron the f*cker slept like a baby. 

I take a step forward but stop, that isn't Addie, this girl is too small, too.. Too everything to be Addie. 

She ends the call and turns, startling when she sees me.

. Mr Levi.." it's Addie's sister, Adélie, the resemblance is unsettling, is this how dating a one pair of a twin feels like? 

"Good morning" I say to her and she nods, looking at everywhere but at me, it's kinda like what a child would do.. It's cute.

Oh..and the story was that I was supposed to get married to her.. No offence but she looks too innocent and I seriously already see her as a sister. 

It's great that I got the other sister though. 

"I'm sorry for the other day.. For calling you out and not showing up" I say earnestly and she nods. 

"It's okay... I heard you were busy saving my sister" She says and I nod.

A hand wraps around my waist from behind and I immediately know it's Addie, I turn to her and she lifts on her toes to kiss my lip. I deepen it. 

She pulls away and she blushes when she sees Adélie standing there. 

Adélie looks like a tomato burst on her face, she looks everywhere but at us. 

Wait... How can someone blush this deeply just from witnessing a kiss. 

"Wow.. That's a full on blush you have going on  there Adélie" Aaron says stepping into the room. 

Adélie stutters... 

"I'm... I'm sorry... I'm not used to seeing so much people at once" She says and Addie steps up to her. 

"Back off Aaron, leave my sister alone" She says shielding Adélie and Adélie laughs causing Addie to smile. 

This is the most carefree I've ever seen Addie. 

It's safe to say it pleases me.

I watch Levi as he sleeps and I stroke his hair off his face... My baby must be real tired. 

I feel my emotions on the rise and I know this thing I'm feeling can only be called love.

I'm happy I've been reunited with my family.. But there's a dark cloud amidst everything. 

I still haven't been able to get James and his people off my scent. 

"What's that frown for?" Levi asks and I look to see him awake. 

"Hey baby" I whisper. 

"Should you be in here? I don't want your parents to think..." 

"We are getting married Levi..

. I'm sure. It's okay to be in the same room with you" I say and he smiles. 

"Was pulling your legs baby cheeks" He says and I laugh smacking his side

"You wanna tell me why you had that frown on your face?" 

"I was just thinking about James and the other stuff" 

"I've got it settled baby.. I'm gonna catch him and that will be the end of that" I can't help but believe that he can do this. He would protect me. 

I raise myself to kiss his head and his eyes falls close even as he smiles. 

"I'm yours" He says softly. 

"You are mine" I repeat and he kisses my cheek. 

God.. This twisted mess ended up being all mine.
