six years ago

i have to speak to my boss. I have a bad feeling that it won't go

well. My company supplies tiles all over the country but yesterday i

found drugs in about 200 cartons. I don't want to believe that my

company has been smuggling drugs in disguise of selling tiles. I have

been working here for more than 10 years now and i never noticed. Now

that i think about it, i have never inspected the deliveries. I am in

charge of designing. Yesterday, i went to down there just to meet with

a colleague of mine and when i saw they were packaging the tiles, i

decided to check to see if my designs came out well. Everybody was

busy so they didn't see me check the cartons. And behold, inside the

cartons were packs of cocaine. I am sure of this. I need to talk to my

boss, he has to explain this.

As soon as my boss comes, i go to his office.

"i heard you wanted to see me" he says

"yes sir"

"okay be fast with it, i have a meeting in 5 minutes" i clear my throat

"sir, i think some people in this company is smuggling cocaine with

our truck" i say and this gets his attention.

"what?. That cant be true" he says, laughing nervously.

. We have to inform the police" my boss'

eyes bulge at the mention of the police. Could he be in on this?. I

remove my phone from my pocket and dial the police but before it

connects, i feel something hard hit my head from behind and before i

lose consciousness, i see my boss standing over me with a vase in his

hand.

When i regain consciousness, i notice my hands and feet are bound.

Everywhere is dark and i cant see a thing. How did i get here?. Did my

boss drag me here?. He must be in on the drug smuggling. What do i

do?. I cant die now, tessy and tehila need me. I have to get out of

these ropes. I try to chew through the rope but then someone enters

the room. Its my colleague. He was the reason why i went to the

delivery room in the first place.

"john, you have two options. One is to join us in this business--"he

says to me and i interrupt him.

"i am not doing anything illegal!... How long as this been going on?"i ask him.

"if you don't join us then we have no option than to kill you"

"what?!...please, i won't tell anyone, just let me go.. I will leave

the city with my family"

"hahaha. Unfortunately, its join or be killed with your family"

"no, my family has nothing to do with this. Leave them out of it. You

can kill me but not them"

"we make the deals not you. So you have chosen death" he says then

brings out an envelope. He brings pictures out of the envelope and

shows them to me. They are pictures of tessy and tehila. Oh no!. I

start to struggle against the ropes that bind me but i do nothing but

hurt myself as the ropes bite into my skin. I start sobbing. This is

hopeless. There is nothing i can do. I have to work for them.

"your daughter is too young to die john, but it would be on your head

if i have to kill her"

"please don't. I'll work for you. I'll be quiet, i won't tell a soul

about this" i sob brokenly

"good"he says patting my shoulder.

"just promise me, my family will be safe"

"you are now one of us so we will protect them with our lives" he says

reassuring me. I nod. He calls in a guy who unties me.

I don't go home after that. I call tehila and tell her i have another

woman. I could hear her sobbing on the other end of the phone as she

begs me not to leave them and this Causes a sharp pain to slash

through my heart.

Present day

Mr ogeleka's pov:

i follow tessy and the little girl she's walking with and find out

where they live. Its been a month since i started searching for them.

I only got hold of their landline number last week and until yesterday

i could not find the courage to call them. Tessy hates me, i saw that

in her eyes. I don't blame her though. Atleast she is safe.

The last six years of my life has been spent gathering information on

my boss' drug smuggling. It's more than i expected. I have been

recording everything and now i have solid evidence to put him behind

bars forever. Then i could be with my family again. I cant let tehila

marry someone else. She and tessy are my whole life. I have killed and

committed alot of crimes just to protect them and now i won't let

another man come between us.
