Emmanuel's pov:
Tessy is walking towards me. She's fuming mad. I wonder what's
pissing her off this early morning. She stands in front of me, then
size me up from head to toe.arinze and chukwuka stare at her but i
just grin.
"what's your problem" she asks me
"mine?. I should be asking you that . You came to me, not the other way
around" i say looking perplex, but that's ok because i am. She bring a
paper from her skirt pocket, then throw it at me. What is wrong with
her. What's in the paper?
"what's the meaning of this?" i ask as i pick up the paper to see what
this is all about. Seeing a receipt for kg three books, i grind my
teeth to stop the shock from showing on my face. Why is she throwing
the receipt at me?. Does she know i bought tessy's books and told the
teacher to give it to her in disguise of a contest?. A contest that
was hilarious to watch. It also showed what a caring sister, tessy is.
She embarrassed herself just to provide the books for olivia. I just
wanted to help but i couldn't just give her the money, i know she
wouldn't take it.

. I steel myself then stare
sharply at her.
"what's your problem, throwing papers at me?"
"you are my problem Manuel, i know you did this so stop giving me that
shocked face"
"did what?"
"organise a fake contest to humiliate me. Do you think this is a joke,
how did you even know i needed money for olivia's books, you jerk?"
she asks pointing her finger
at me, and this infuriates me. I hold her pointed finger.
"i heard you tell ese about the money you need for olivia's books. i
was just trying to help olivia. But i knew you wouldn't take the
money. And embarrassing you was too tempting so i organised the
contest" i lie without blinking. She looks stun.
"why would you help olivia?"
"because she is the sweetest girl i know and because i can"
"how am i sure, this receipt is valid?"
"go and confirm it at the bookshop then" she thinks on this then shake her head.
"no, i cant take this. Nothing is for free in this world and for a
jerk like you to give me this huge amount of money...no, take it back"
"tessy, you said olivia needs it so just come off your high horses and
take the dam receipt, i have no use for it, besides, you won't get
this kind of money else where"
"hmm..I'll take it, only if you let me pay you back, maybe in installments."
"you already paid me, your performance was entertaining, besides, i
don't need your money"
"no, that's not enough, i won't accept this or else you let me pay you
back in some way" and then an idea flicks like a light bulb in my
head.
"you can pay me by being my servant for the whole term and doing
everything i ask you to do." she looks at me with caution then sigh
defeated.
"its a deal" she says and stretch her hand to shake on our sweet deal.
I shake her hand and hold it for much longer than necessary, she tries
to pull her hand away but i hold it tighter, then grin. She doesn't
know what she has agreed to. After holding the hand for some time, i
release it then grin
