When the play ended, Ifeyinwa led him to the market. The market buzzed with people, as traders sold books, plastic swords, food and other things. They continued walking around, observing the commodities for sale and pointing at goods that attracted them. They strolled along the market place till their feet hurt. They found two plastic chairs beside a shop and sat down to rest.

"Stay here, let me buy food and drinks for us," Ifeyinwa said.

"Okay, don’t go far o, I don’t know anywhere," Gabriel replied.

"You will be fine, cry-baby . I am coming," Ifeyinwa said as she joined the roaming crowd.

Gabriel looked around, smiling at how excited and lively the people were. He thought the event must really mean a lot to them.

He looked around him and a shadow came over him. He looked up to find a naked pot bellied man standing over him. The face of the man was covered with a mask. The mask was red, having two short horns, eyes abnormally wide and a wide grin on its face. Gabriel looked questioningly at the man, wandering if the man was mad. He shifted uncomfortably as he looked around, wondering how a naked man managed to walk through the crowd without anyone stopping him. He looked sideways and signalled at the owner of the shop beside him

. The owner of the shop, a young woman, turned to face him and smiled at him. She turned back to face a customer that pointed at the goods she was selling. Gabriel looked back at the naked man before him, staring in confusion.

What is going on, can’t she see this naked man in front of me? he thought.

He looked at the crowd, walking along the street and noticed they were all going about their business, none of them stopped to question the man.

Fear began to envelope him slowly and he began to think they really can't see the man.

He looked back at the man and cowered back. The man bent forward, his face just a few inches from Gabriel. The man laughed, his voice sounded unnatural. Gabriel shook with fear as he stared at the man. A tear dropped from one of the eyes on man’s mask and landed on Gabriel’s knee. Gabriel looked at the wet spot on his knee and noticed that it was red. He looked back at the man and saw streams of red tears descending from his eyes. His mouth dropped when he realized the tears were actually streams of blood. He looked into the man’s eyes and saw they were completely dark and empty. The lips on the mask opened to reveal fangs and Gabriel realized that what he thought was a mask was actually the man’s face. Gabriel tried to scream but the man, in a flash, covered his mouth with his palm.

. Gabriel gagged as the smell of rotten flesh came from the hand that covered his mouth. The bloodied face man moved closer to Gabriel as his hand held his face in place. The face of the man was merely a few inches from Gabriel’s face and Gabriel saw death in those eyes. His eyes widened in terror. He forcefully closed his eyes praying the man would go away till he felt a tap on his shoulder, he squealed and jumped. He opened his eyes to see Ifeyinwa staring questioningly at him, holding two bottles of coke and a big loaf of bread.

"Are you okay?" she asked him with concern.
Gabriel looked around him and didn’t see the naked man. "Ye…Yes, I…I am fine," he stammered and swallowed. "I was probably sleeping," he said.

"Nawa o, inside this heat, you are sleeping? Take and eat, we are leaving," she said extending the bread and a bottle of coke to him.

He thought it had been a dream all along and heaved.

He looked down and saw a drop of blood on his hand. He swallowed in fear and shook his head.
Ifeyinwa looked at Gabriel and sighed. She looked back, shooting an angry glare at the naked pot bellied man that stood in the middle of the road. The man smiled back at her.
