The Last Virgin - Episode 14

 

**** Valerie begins to chase after Kayla.. Suddenly she halts.

She turns her attention back to Patrick who lay on the floor writhing in obvious pain. She goes to him, carries him into the guestroom downstairs, grabs a cloth and ties it around his wounded neck.

Done,she takes a step back and stretches out her right hand until her finger tips touched Patrick's forehead.

"Go to sleep. By morning you'll have no memory or any remembrance of whatsoever occurred tonight"

Her lips moved in sync as she uttered the words. . A faint light appears on his forehead as Valerie felt some energy leave her system, transferring to Patrick.

He falls into a deep sleep. By morning,he won't remember what had happened.

She had no idea how or when she knew she could wipe some specific parts of a persons memoy.

She just sort if did it.

But right now, was no time for thinking.

Though she hadn't been doing much of thinking lately.. She needed to find Kayla.

She couldn't be far.

Valerie strides out of the room,shutting it behind.

She steps out of the house and luckily, all the police officers were at the other side of the house where the accident had occurred and so she managed to take quiet long strides out of the house until she was back on the streets.. Her hair now turned back to it's original black color, flying in the direction the wind blew like a crazed person.

Once again,Valerie found herself walking without direction.

Her brain had come to a complete standstill and her legs had taken over as she walked without bearing.

. It was a strange,unsettling yet exciting feeling.

It was like she knew where Kayla was headed.. As long as she kept her mind focused on who she wanted to find,her legs automatically walked, leading her to whoever she wanted to find And the moment, she needed to find Kayla. Kayla wasn't her best friend at the moment.

No.

At the moment Kayla was a threat to her.. A threat whose eyes haf seen something she wasn't supposed to see.

And so before she opened her mouth to say anything, she had to silence her.

After all it was to kill or be killed.

Right?

With the incredible speed with which she was walking, it didn't take more than fifteen minutes to catch up with Kayla.. It was on the lonely narrow shortcut road which led to Kayla's house.

As Valerie advances closer,she could outrightly hear her rapid heartbeat coupled with small gasps like she was trying to catch her breath from running a marathon.

Even though she hadn't seen her yet, she could sense she was extremely close. And she wasn't wrong.

The moment Valerie took her sixth step,she saw her.

She was squatting near the bushes,gasping for breath.

Valerie shakes her head as she makes her way towards her.

"Hello there"

Kayla jumps at the voice.

She whimpers when she realises who it was.

She begins to take small steps backwards, ready to make a run for it.

But Valerie grabs her arm and yanks her forward.

"P..please let me go..I.. I'll keep my month shut, I promise.. P..please"

she cries.

"Oh but that's the problem sweetheart. For how long are you gonna shut up till you spill the beans? Hmm.. You see I've got trust issues with you humans and so the only way for me to trust your silence is when I put you to eternal sleep. How about that?"

Kayla's eyes widen as the meaning of her words begin to register.

"N..no... Please... I.. Swear I won't say a word. I swear on my life!"

Her hands were folded in a prayer fashion with tears cascading down her cheeks as she begged for her life.

But Valerie was having none of it. She bares her teeth, and the two front began to elongate.. Kayla shrieks in fright and tries to move away but Valerie's firm grip on her compelled her to stay still.

Valerie pulls her closer, grabs her by the neck and was ready to sink her fangs into her when a certain force pulled her away from the whimpering girl.

Annoyed that her feast had been interrupted, she turns to find lord Hades in all his shining glory, stretching his arms towards Kayla.

"Go home and go to sleep. By morning you shall not have any remembrance of what you saw or what just occurred. Go home"

He mumbles and like a zombie, Kayla obeyed.

Turned on her heel and walked towards her house.

As soon as Kayla was out of sight, Valerie suddenly jumps back, whatever kind of spell that had befallen her to get thirsty for human blood was broken.

She blinks. Again and again.

She stares up at Hades and then turn to watch Kayla who was barely in sight now.. She turns again, blinking rapidly.

"W..what h..happened.. I... "

she trails off,the images of her sinking her teeth into her father's neck and drinking from him flashing in her mind.

She shrieks, wiping her mouth till it began to hurt.

Disgusting! Disgusting!.

"Now now... It wasn't disgusting when you were relishing in drinking the blood was it? Don't tell me you didn't enjoy it because you did"

Hades words interrupted her.. She glares at him

"What did you do! What have you turned me into!"

She shouts, recalling how her teeth had elongated into... Into.... Jesus!

"Do. No. Raise. Your. Voice. At. Me!"

He growls thunderously making Valerie recoil in fear.

"What have you done to me? I.. I feel... Disgusting "

she whispers

"Wasn't that the whole idea hmm?"

Hades smirks "Meaning?"

"Oh. You still haven't realised? That's slow girl"

he taunts

"Go home and you'll know what you've done.

"So...you... Turned me into.. A vampire?"

Hades clicks his tongue, frowning

"Naaa. Turn you into a vampire? That will mean you'll become immortal. Didn't you know a vampire can live for several centuries without ageing? Unless of course they are killed with a shot silver in the head or heart or a stake is pierced directly into their heart. And this is a human world so no one will guess you're a vampire, meaning you'll be safe from threats and you'll live a thousand years and I do not want that. So no,you're not a vampire"

Of course, Hades was a selfish bastard.

"S..so what am I?"

She asks dreading the answer. Hades grins.

"Oh nothing much. Just a bloodsucker"

"A f*cking what!? You can't be serious!"

"Do I look like a clown to you hmm?"

"B...but this is outrageousl! Ridiculous! This is unfair! You're being biased! You can't do this to me! You can't!"

She yells gripping her hair and pulling harshly.

How could she be a monster?

A..a blood what? No way!

"Everything is fair in love and war girl. Besides it wasn't my fault you were too stupid to ask me the consequences for breaking a rule. It's your cross so you carry it"

"Now with that being said..."

He pauses loving the look of horror etched on her face

"Imagine what I'll turn you into if you break the other rules hmm?"

He smirks.
