Rose:
"Where is he?" I fire at the young nurse scrolling through some stupid papers by the nurse station. She takes too long to pay me attention. 
"I said where is he you f*cking sh*t!" Her eyes snap out of the papers and unto my face. Her lips turn down in distaste but who cares? I know I look like hell with the way I kept pulling my hair in anger all through the way to this place. I'm losing my mind with thought of Nelson sending evidence of my hand in grandma's death to the police. 
"How may I help you ma'am?" the nurse tries to be polite. 
"I'm Rose . I was brought in with a man who tried to kill me in an accident. Where is his room?" I can't bring myself to call Nelson my husband thereby confusing the dumb nurse the more. Stupid woman.
"ma'am if you'll be a little more specific maybe I'll be of more help to you. Or we could call the doctors. You don't look well. "she eyes me up with her nose if that makes sense. 
"I'll show you who's not well after I make you lose your flimsy job and have all the hospitals in this country ban you for life!" I growl at her.
"Ma'am I'll call security on you if you don't tune it down a huge notch." Doesn't this stupid nurse see that I desperately need to meet Nelson?

. About my husband. Remember? He offered you N10,000 for you to threaten me. Take me the f*ck to him." I'm swearing a lot these days. So unladylike. 
"I don't know what you are talking about. Security!! " The nurse starts yelling for security while I try to reason with her. 
"Nelson's wife?" I turn when I'm tapped from behind. I was expecting to see a security guard but another nurse with big shiny eyes smile up at me. 
"I'll handle this Rita." the new nurse say to the lunatic who was going to kick me to security. 
"she's not sane! She looks like she needs medical help. Did she hit her head in an accident?" the dumb nurse ramble on while the new one pulls on my hand and takes me away from her. 
"I'll handle her! " the nurse yells behind her as we go. 
 We reach a room at the far end of the hallway before the nurse let's go of me to knock.
"She's here." she announces before opening the door. I sag backwards as my eyes meet the spectacle on the bed.
"Where's she. Bring her close." his croaky voice makes me cringe. 
"You have to move closer to him. He can't really see for now." I eye the huge bandage around his head, which is covering both of his eyes. 
He looks like a corpse. So pale with a tube planted inside him. My nose scrunch up in disgust. 
"He wasn't wearing seat belts so when the car propelled forward, he was thrown into the windscreen. The glasses entered his eyes." The nurse explains like I care.
"Would the both of you stop whispering about me there?! I Can f*cking hear you!" Nelson croak and the nurse clamp her mouth shut. 
"Get out of here Joy. I already forwarded the money to your account." He says again and the nurse leaves me without a word. 
  The room is dead silent as I watch Nelson. 
"I won't be like this forever rose. I go into surgery tomorrow and come back with my sight but before then,  I wanted to see you baby. Come closer." His hands motion for me to come close but I cringe.
"Come on babe . I missed you. Come give me a kiss. " He drawls. I don't move though. 
"Come here you b*tch!"  he spits suddenly, startling a sob out of me. He's lying lifeless on an hospital bed but he still elicit so much fear from me. The monster. 
"Are you going to come here or you want me to send the recording of you babbling to your dumb mother about killing my grandmother? " he grinds out and I shake my head. 
"please no. I'm here. Don't!" I force my numb legs to stand beside his bed. His hand go up and I put my shaky one in it.
"have you been sleeping with him?" he asks suddenly. 
"What?! N--no." I stammer. 
  "liar!!" He yells as his hand slam into the small table by the bed. A tray comes crashing to the ground and I see pills scatter around. I try to scramble away from him but his hold on my hand get tighter. He stands up from the bed and pull the tube out of his stomach. There's blood but he doesn't seem fazed. For someone who just came out of coma, he's strong. 
"let me go please. I'm saying the truth." I'm already crying.
"I don't believe you. I guess I'll have to check for myself." he says as he pulls at my skirt. I hear the material rip as I try to run. 
"help! Somebody!" that stupid nurse doesn't even come in to check what's wrong.
"Nelson please don't do this." I sob out weakly as his fingers dig into my thigh.
"Stay still. I just have to check." his fingers creep up to my upper thigh and my brain clicks on how the bastard intends to check if I slept with Derrick. I start panicking as I push on his shoulders. He doesn't bulge though. His hand just creep higher while he laughs in my face.
"You are mine.!" he grinds out. Adrenaline kicks in as I bar my teeth and push it into his neck. Biting with all my strength. 
"sh*t!" he roars as he push me away from him. I fall to the ground but still try to scramble away. 
"you bit me! Not a good move! Where are you" he Spits as he stalks towards me blindly. 
"Please." I beg weakly as I crawl back on my ass. My hand touch something cold and sharp and I quickly grab it.
 As soon as Nelson grab me again, I connect the sharp edge of the objects I grabbed earlier to his neck. It's a pair of darn syringe. Nelson just pull them out on a curse.
"That stung. But I---" his words hang and he suddenly grab his neck with both of his hands. I fall again but watch with wide eyes as Nelson's eyes mouth start foaming and he starts convulsing widely. 
"The nurse at the station called your family. I can't keep them out any---" I  glance up to see the nurse as her eyes meet Nelson still body on the floor. 
"You killed him! Oh I'm gonna lose my job" She yells as she crouch down beside Nelson. 
"Okay calm down Joy. There's no pulse. What did you do to him?!" she yell at me. I just point to the syringe on the ground. She grab it off the floor. 
"oh thank God." she breathes out a relaxed breath and I wonder why. 
"He's not dead. It's just the drug. It makes it seem like someone's dead." she explains. Why would a drug like that be in here in the first place? 
"wait, so he isn't dead?" I ask and she shake her head. 
"the both of us would have been in big trouble. Thank God right?" The stupid nurse ramble on while my mind keep telling me of all the consequences of Nelson waking back up.
"He's dead." I say. 
"No. I just said he's--"
"Shut up. I just said he's dead and that's what he is."
"you're crazy. I can't kill anyone. I'm calling security." She starts pulling her phone out of her pocket but I  grab her hand. 
"I have a recording of you saying he bribed you. That's obviously going to have you fired and jobless for life." Her face falls. 
"plus I'll give you money. N100,000."
" I'm not killing anyone." she say weakly but I know I'm getting to her. 
"you don't have to kill him Joy. He's already dead." she looks at me for a sec before she catches on. 
"You want us to pretend he's dead?" 
"bingo. " I grin. 
"but he's going to wake up in a few hours. His heart would resume beating."
"leave that to me." I say. She think on it for a while. 
"half a million." She says. Greedy b*tch. 
"N250,000 or get ruined." I growl and she smiles sweetly. 
"I was going to tell you this. His family is outside. Nurse Rita called them Because she thought you are crazy." nurse Joy explains 
"That's great then. Let the party begin.".I state. She pull her phone out fully this time then dial. 
"we have a code red in the last ward. He's flat lining. " she says and mouth the word 'doctor' to me and I give her a thumb up. 
"He's on his way.

. And so is his family. Help me get him to the bed." she instruct and I nod. With little difficulty,  we are able to put Nelson on the bed. Nurse joy even put in the tube of earlier then connect him to a machine. Just like in the movies, it's showing a straight line and I swear I feel ecstatic. 
"Rose! " Derrick's voice makes me remember why I am doing on this and as soon as he enters the room I launch myself at him. 
" He's dead Derrick. I tried to call for help sooner. Oh God. It's my fault."I sob into his shoulder as he rubs soothing circles against my back.
"hey. It's not your fault. You did your best." he whispers into my ear and I hug him tighter. Of course I did my best to make you mine. 
Deana walks in as well as a doctor who walks over to Nelson's body. 
 Things couldn't be more perfect than this.
