The fill-in wife - Episode 32

 

Derrick:

"No, Maya please listen to me. Maya!" I race after her out of the door and out of the house. She doesn't even stop.
"Maya! Please!" I catch up to her as she tries to open the gate and pull her hand. She loses balance and fall into my chest. Where she belong and I hold on to her for dear life.
"Baby please. I love you . Don't leave."I sob into her neck. Yes, I'm sobbing. This is my family we're talking about.
"Get away from me!" she push me forcefully away from her but I just pull away to grab her from behind. "please. It's not the truth. I mean it was. But then I wanted to make it real. I did it all for us."I say into her neck.
"if you think lying to me is for my good then I don't want to know what kind of a person you are." she let's out a sob of her own and my heart break for her. I release her waist and turn her face me. Her red puffy eyes break my eyes and I try to brush off her tears but they only get replaced by more hot tears. 
"please. I can explain. Just hear me out." I request. 
"it hurts." she lament while clutching her stomach and I remember why I didn't tell her the whole truth earlier. She can't be stressed

. How selfish would it be for me to save my relationship only to lose my baby? She already knows most of it. Your part off the story might make it easier on her. I keep fighting with my subconscious.
"I'm an idiot. I just wanted to protect you. That's the truth. All through everything, your future was all I was thinking about. I wanted you to leave a good life."
"So does getting me pregnant when you were going to leave me in a year also part of you thinking about my future?! "
" No, that was a mistake. It wasn't supposed to happen. I mean I love our baby but--" I ramble on only for her to cut me off. 
"but what? My baby is not a mistake okay? You are." With this,  she turns on her heels and storm out of the gate. 
"Maya! Wait! That came out wrong! Maya!" she's not even wearing shoes. Hell I'm just wearing boxers. 
"you're gonna hurt yourself! Stop running away from me!" I yell after her from the gate. Fuck this. I forget about my state of undress when I spot a car stop beside Maya and Jordan comes out of it with an older woman. 
"Maya! Please stop!" I yell as I reach them.
"Maya please." I plead again but Jordan comes between us. 
"Get out of my way Jordan." I grind out. He looks to Maya who shakes her head at him before turning back to me. 
"I don't think she wants to talk to you right now." he says and I growl. 
"she's my wife! She is coming with me!" I try to grab Maya from behind him but he stupidly shove me. Oh, nobody gets between me and the wifey. I stagger a little back just to bounce back and punch his pretty face. Maya and the strange woman yell in horror as they both fuss over Jordan. 
"Maya i--"
"No! You have done enough! Stay away from me ok?! Don't you dare follow me or I'll file a restraining order for you" she warn before grabbing Jordan's hand and helping him into the car. I start to go after them but the strange woman gets between us. 
"I think you should let her go for now. She obviously doesn't want to talk to you right now." she says before entering the car and slamming the door in my face as well. The car zooms off without a seconds pause, taking my heart away with it. 
 Damn it! Damn it! Damn it! I mentally yell as I punch the nearest wall with my already sore fist. God no. Bring her back to me. I'm ready to do anything. Everything was just great. That stupid document ruined everything. How did she get her hands on them anyways? I specifically told my lawyer to get rid of them and make a new one! Wait a minute, those must have been the documents beside Rose. Rose! She did this! She's going to get it from me. I turn on my heels and storm into the house. 
"Rose! Rose!" Where is that scheming woman?! I push pass the door only to be met by rose sobbing on the couch in a pool of her blood. I start to hurry to her when no other person but Nelson walks into the room with a gun in his hand. 
"Nelson?! " isn't he supposed to be dead? 
"Hey little brother. Ready to join the show?"  he says grinning but the gun pointed at me tells me this isn't a laughing matter.
"what are you doing? Are you not supposed to be dead?" I sound calmer than I feel but I guess if your wife and daughter just left you, you would be too numb to be scared of a gun. 
"well no thanks to your wife but I'm fine. Had to kill a betraying nurse but here I am. Alive! we should toast to that. Why don't you sit beside your lover while I get the drinks" He says and walks off. I sit my ass down beside rose. 
"what's going on?! Aside your schemes to chase my family away which congratulations by the way, you succeeded in doing!" I yell in her face. 
"I'm sorry." she sob while groaning in pain. She's clutching her leg which is bloody. 
"Why did you do it?"
"because I love you derry. I just wanted to help you get rid of her." 
"help me? Why would I want to get rid of the best thing to ever happen to me?"
"because you love me more. I'm the best thing that has happened to you derry. Me!" This is crazy. 
"I loved you yes but you had no right to help! You have destroyed everything. I love her, Rose. I love her!" I yell in her face. 
"no. You love me. Nelson broke us up.

"Enough of the chit chat." Nelson's cold voice interrupts us. 
"what do you think you are doing Nelson? Haven't you hurt her enough? Your problem is with me. Let her go. Can't you see she's bleeding out on the couch. You're going to kill her." I ramble to Nelson who just burst out in laughter. 
"Always so gullible, brother. I don't think she even gave grandma the chance to defend herself when she poisoned her though." he says and my mouth drop to the ground. 
"don't listen to him Derrick. He's crazy. He killed her, not me." a desperate rose say but my spinning head doesn't know what to believe right now.
"did I also try to kill myself?" he sneer and rose whimper beside me. Nelson walk up to me and hand me a glass of wine with some papers.
"Now I just want you to sign those then we can get to the main party."he says and rest the nozzle of the gun's silencer against my temple . This way, no one would hear him kill me. Speaking of no one, where are all the workers?
