Epilogue.

Koni watched as the rain fell from the balcony of his house. It was early in the morning. The sun was not up yet and he could see thunderstorms from far. His phone on his hand blinked and he checked to see a text from Guma.

It is done.

Koni let out a sigh of relief. The amanani were now on their own . Like their true nature they will stay in the darkness and not possess the bodies of humans and animals as hosts.

Koni felt a little relief but the fight was not from over. The amanani were still out there and he felt a small victory with their step. The Baraza La Wazee was surprised to hear of the underhand way Koni had chosen to fight the amanani. They didn’t trust the rainmakers at all. They thought he had committed an offend similar to treason.

The oral narrator came to his aide and together with Chief Dakarai had been able to convince the council. The Council agreed to consult the services of Guma from time to time.

The other problem of outcast was still a topic of deep discussions in the Council.

Most of the elders thought it was wrong to go against the decisions made by their fore fathers and another group thought that times had changed and cried that the outcasts to be absorbed back inside the Council since they had done nothing wrong.

Koni supported the latter group. Some of the rules in the council had to be changed

. It was inevitable.

The topic of outcast eliminators was also under review. The council had agreed to let start a process of negotiations with Sokwe Society. The body that was in charge of the eliminators. Sokwe Society elders had agreed to meet with their counterparts and look for a better way to operate. Koni could only hope that the council would come up with a quick decision.

Vuyanzi woke up and touched the side of the bed reaching out for Koni but it was empty. She sat up and saw the balcony door was open. She could feel him in deep thoughts. He was worried about a lot of things but at the same time he was revealed.

She reached for her discarded night gown but saw that it was torn, she blushed Koni had proven to be impatient and her inner clothing had ended up paying the price for it all. She had to do underwear shopping on a weekly basis. He didn’t understand why she would put on so much clothes when they were going to lose them anyway.

Vuyanzi wrapped a sheet around under her arms and padded to the balcony where the windy rain was whistling. She tightened the sheet and pushed the door open. Koni stood there with his face upturned and looking at the sky, his dreadlocks free on his shoulders and rain slicing his muscled torso. He looked perfect Vuyanzi smiled at herself and he was all hers.

As if sensing her thoughts Koni turned towards her and stretched out his hand,

‘’Come here,’’ his voice a gentle seduction, his eyes glowing brightly yellow.

Vuyanzi forgot her reservations and walked towards him her hand stretched. He pulled her sharply to his chest and the sheet jammed at the balcony door. She yelped when the first raindrop hit her flesh. Koni gathered her to his chest and wrapped his muscly hands on her waist and Vuyanzi marveled at how much warmth he radiated. Her lower stomach tightened when their naked skins touched, electricity igniting between them.

‘’Koni we have to inside, it’s raining,’’ she held his face looking at him. With eyes glowing Vuyanzi had come to know that she was not talking to Koni but to his beast, an insatiable beast. It had been a month after their wedding. They had recently come back from a week long honeymoon from Okavango delta in Botswana. She had been able to meet Koni’s family. They were heartwarming people and welcomed her warmly.

Koni’s beast was now gazing at her, its intent obvious in his eyes, he wanted her and Vuyanzi was sure her eyes reflected the same. It didn’t take much for her to be aroused, on look of Koni’s heated gaze and she was panting for his attention.

‘’Koni,’’ she whispered when his hands travelled her naked body. The sheet billowing at the wind. She tightened her hands at the base of his neck tangling his dreadlocks and holding him tight to her. In an aim to stop herself from falling, she wrapped her legs around his waist and Koni grumbled his appreciation.

Koni lowered his head and instead of kissing her like she desired, he aimed for her neck. He pieced her skin and at the same time joined with her in one fluid thrust. Vuyanzi let out a loud m*an but the thundering rain swallowed it.

The rain serenaded their joining and Vuyanzi didn’t feel the sharp pellets as they hit her skin. She was lost in Koni’s embrace. Her husband embrace. Koni whispered sweet words to her ear, urging her to climb higher and higher until she couldn’t climb anymore and let it go. Koni let out a satisfying growl as he hugged her more tightly to himself as if afraid to let her go.

‘’Vuyanzi,’’ he whispered her name and kissed her cheek after the tumultuous feelings calmed down. The rains had stopped and it was now drizzling. Vuyanzi could not believe she had enjoyed that on the balcony for all and sundry to see. Thank God it was night time and the balcony faced the reserve, or else.

‘’Let’s get to bed, you are soaked.’’ Koni carried her bridal style and entered the room, the cold rains remained out.

‘’Wait Koni, I wanted to tell you something,’’ Vuyanzi remembered why she woke up, the previous night she wanted to tell him a surprise but Koni was more focused on getting her clothes off but now she was going to make him listen.

‘’What is it?’’ he deposited her in the bed and drew the remaining sheet to wrap it round her body.

‘’I went to town today to get you a gift, let me go fetch it,’’ Koni chuckled as he watched her walk like a penguin inside the oversize wardrobe and came out holding a big rectangular box.

‘’Careful now, that thing could hurt you,’’ he stood up to help her he took it from her hands and settled it on the bed.

‘’No its fine, it is not that heavy. Now open it,’’ Vuyanzi couldn’t hide her glee she clapped her hands.

‘’What is in the box Vuyanzi?”’ Koni was hesitant. He had learned the hard way his wife could play a mean prank on him.

‘’Open it,’’ Vuyanzi whined and he laughed, she looked so cute when frustrated.

‘’Okay,’’ he then opened the box and pulled out a black t-shirt his size written on Lion.

‘’Its beautiful Vuyanzi, I love it.’’

‘’No you are not done yet, there’s more,’’

With less hesitation, he picked inside the box again and came out with another black shirt a smaller size, written Lioness.

‘’Matching t-shirts.’’ He raised his brows at her and Vuyanzi urged to go on,

He pulled out a smaller shirt. A baby sized t shirt..

Wait a minute…

With abated breath, he unwrapped the small black shirt with drawing of the small lion cub on it.

‘’Are you pregnant?’’ he asked in an awe, his voice small and his eyes clouding.

‘’Yes, Koni. We are pregnant…’’ before she could finish.

. Koni carried her and placed a loud kiss on lips. Then he released her to dance around the room and Vuyanzi could only laugh at him wiping the happy tears falling from her eyes. She couldn’t believe she was going to be a mother.

‘’When did you know? Why didn’t you tell me? Am going to be a father, I will have my own children, we are going to be parents Vuyanzi. Will I be a good father? I will teach them everything, oh Vuyanzi thank you so much. I can’t wait’’ Koni rumbled on as he walked around the room and Vuyanzi went to him taking his large hands in hers.

‘’Stop worrying so much, I will be here with you. We will get through this together,’’ she assured him hugging him.

‘’Thank you so much Vuyanzi, you are a blessing,’’ he hugged her tightly and prayed their lives were filled with so much happiness henceforth.

THE END.

I would like to tank you guys for staying with me as i wrote the book. Your comments and encouragements warmed my heart. I hope you liked the book.

I left it with a cliff hanger because i am hopping in making it into  a triology.  Koni and Vuyanzi's story was only the first book. I am planning to write two more others. Roiman's story and Manute's. The stories willl explain all your questions about the spirit warriors and dancing brides.
