She Did It - Episode 7

The next day, John got all the required information provided to him by the Inspector General to start doing his job. A file with a neat A4 paper was handed to John. He got home and studied it carefully. He brought out his phone, opened his whatsapp application and told Bolanle there was a job down for them. Bolanle promised to come later, so they would discuss about it. 

"This is tougher than all the jobs we have done before, because the culprit or culprits didn't leave any proof", John texted Bolanle. "Don't worry it will be a challenge for us", Bolanle replied assuredly.

Sheila slept over in Tola's apartment. The next morning, she got a text message from Mrs Coker informing her that a detective is already handling the case. She fretted.

"Tola!!!", Sheila called out. Tola just woke up and was still on her night gown. She had her shower cap on, and was trying to clean up her face with water in the bathroom. She ran out when she heard her name.

"Have it", Sheila said as she handed the phone over to Tola. Tola read the message and was worried.

"Well, let's call Bimpe to come over, she is always with ideas", Tola said. Tola scrolled over Sheila's contact list, until she got to Bimpe's number

. She dialed the number and put a call to her.

"Good morning, Bimpe baby", Tola said.

"Good morning, babes", Bimpe replied.

"I think you should come over to my house, Sheila is here", Tola said.

"Oh, really? I hope all is well", Bimpe asked.

"Yes, all is well", Tola assured. About an hour, there was a knock on the door, Tola moved close to the door, inquired who it was before she opened it.

"Oh, wow! So fast. Welcome babes", Tola said as they hugged and pecked each other. Sheila was sitting on the sofa, with her legs folded on the chair, and she placed the small pillow on her laps.

"I was summoned", Bimpe said, before she dropped her bag on the table at the centre without sitting down. Sheila stretched her hand, so Bimpe could take the phone.

"Okay, what's the problem?", Bimpe said after she had collected the phone. She stared at Sheila but she didn't talk, she looked at Tola.

"Read it", Tola said. Bimpe read it.

"So?", Bimpe asked.

"So?, really?", Sheila replied.

"Wait, don't you all think this is the best idea? You are not the prime suspect and they are even informing you with their steps, so you can cover your loophole", Bimpe said.

"The problem is that Ms Bolanle, one of the best detective in this country is involved. What should we do?", Sheila said. Immediately, Bimpe heart leapt and she staggered.

"I hope all is well?", Tola asked.

"Yes, all is well", Bimpe said. She continued, "see we will handle this ourselves". She dropped the phone, picked her bag and left immediately.

"What was that behaviour?", Tola asked.

"See, I don't know", Sheila said. 

Tola entered the kitchen to prepare breakfast. It was 11:00AM. Sheila was in the bathroom bathing, and doing some of her morning rituals. After some minutes, she was done and Tola was in the dining room arranging for the breakfast she had made.

. Sooner, they were both seated and started to eat.

"This food is tasty", Sheila said.

"I am good at that", Tola giggled. She continued, "why did Bimpe behave that way?".

"I don't know. Anyway, she is always weird and behaves like that".

"Not like she was the one that killed Rowland", Tola said. Immediately, the spoon of food, Sheila was about to put in her mouth fell off.

"I hope all is well", Tola asked.

"Yes, all is well", Sheila replied and ran to the bathroom.  About some minutes, after Tola futile wait for Sheila to return back, she went to the bathroom and saw her soliloquizing to herself while talking, and looking on the mirror.

"I hope all is well?", Tola asked as she opened the bathroom door and peeped through slowly.

"I am sure I didn't kill you", Sheila muttered. "Oh, it's you", she said rhetorical to Tola, she bent over, and washed her tears with water coming out from the basin's tap.

"You didn't kill him?", Tola queried.

"It's nothing. Forget", Sheila said. Tola ignored. Maybe her friend is going abnormal but that might implicate them. Tola thought. They entered the parlour, she moved to take her phone from the dining table, it started ringing.
