It had been a week since Reginah had seen or talked with her mother..

She had gone for her clothes and some personal stuffs when she wasn't around. She missed her so much but she wasn't ready to forgive her for what she had done..

Her father had called her up three days ago insisting to meet up with her before he headed back to Italy..

At first she was reluctant but after several messages and calls she gave in...

They were to meet up at 2pm at Hava restaurant. Reginah couldnt express how she felt . She wasnt sad or happy. She wasnt angry either for the slap he gave her.

Maybe it was because she didn't know him much or she didn't understand what their relationship was based on...

She walked in the Hava restaurant with lots of confidence until she spotted Carlos...
Her head begun buzzing with possibilities.

What if he insulted her?? What if he slapped her?? Reginah was so nervous that she found herself placing her hands in her cheeks..

She wanted to turn around and run out of there but she was afraid of being seen as a coward..

Her stomach had knotted up and her pulse pounding in her temples ..

She stood infront of the talking fellows and cleared her throat...

They all looked at her smiling..
"Hey Reginah???Have a seat.." Anthony said blissfully.
"Hey dad...no Anthony.." She stammered...

She held her head down since  she couldn't bring herself to look at Carlos. She was ashamed of the fact that she the mistake was the reason his mother left..

She just stood there playing with her fingers when Carlos stood up and hugged her...

"It's okay little sister..Don't be scared...." Carlos assured squeezing her tight.
"You don't hate me???" Reginah asked shockingly.
"Why should I??? In fact I am so happy that the girl I saw as my little sister is truly my little sister..."

"I am so sorry that my mom and I are the reason your family broke apart..

. I know how it feels not to have a dad by your side.. Trust me if it were up to me I couldn't have let it happened..." Reginah stuttered, her hands on his shoulders..

Although Carlos was disappointed, he understood Reginah and her mother were also victims of their dad, who had a weakness of running away from his problems. He always wondered how he ran a business empire...

He was never the kind to sit down and look for a solution..

"It's okay little sister, we are all victims of our dad's foolish decision. So let's embrace it and move on. Have you met our evil aunty Isabelle???"

"Big brother tell me about it..." Reginah rolled her eyes.
"I heard you beat her up, I wish I was there to help you whip that spoilt brat ass..." Carlos joked  and they both laughed..

"Carl, that's not something to tell to your small sister.." Anthony pretended to be angry and the siblings  both made angry faces.. "But instead you two should deal with her. She just gets on my nerves..." Anthony stated and they all laughed  out loud receiving weird glances from the tables around..

"Dad you are adobes...." Reginah for a moment was lost in emotions and fistbumped her dad.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to...." Reginah murmured sitting next to Carlos...

It was a relief to sit down because of her shaking legs, she was afraid she could trip...
After ordering their food, there was a comfortable silence between them as they dug into their food.

"So Reginah I heard you are a motorbike rider. A very good one. So how is it???" Anthony broke the silence...

"Ummmm!!! It's great. It's what I love doing..."

"Are you not scared that you might get hurt???Bikes are so risky..."
"No Anthony, life is all about risk..."

"Dad not everyone is like you... Some of us don't run away from our issues but solve them..." Carlos sneered.
"I thought we talked about it Carl..."
"I am just saying... If you had been a man enough we could be on a different page of life..." Carlos replied.

"But I...."
"So guys how is Italy????" Reginah butted in and they all went silent after realising they had begun crossing the lines...

"I am sorry little Sis. I just lost it..." Carlos said.
"Trust me, I know how you feel.." Reginah beamed placing her hand om his...

"Baby, I wanted to say I am sorry for the other day... For the slap and...."
"Wait, you slapped her???" Carlos almost lost his grip...
"Calm down big brother, I provoked him..." Reginah tried defending him..
"But that does not justify anything..." Carlos retorted...

"That's why I am saying sorry..." Anthony looked like he could cry... "I know I was unfair to you and your mother... That's why I am here to make things right..I wanna give you the life you deserve..."

"I wish you would have done that ages ago not when I am all grown and can take care of my mother.  Do you even have the slightest idea of what we went through??? Grandma disowned mum. Many of the days we went hungry to bed as you lived the life.." Reginah's eyes were dripping with tears and so Carlos handed her a handkerchief..

"For years I waited for you.

Anthony could feel guilt choking him up. The tears on his daughter's eyes broke him... She looked like  scattered pieces of glass..

"That's why I am sorry... I am sorry for being a coward..."
"That dad on the coward thing, we can agree on." Carlos said and sipped his mango juice...

Anthony ignored his statement and continued, "I am sorry that the last time we meet instead of making things right I made them worse by introducing you to my new wife..."

Carlos gnashed his teeth by the mention of his new wife.. Only God knew how much he hated that woman...

"It's okay.. it's all in the past and I have more things to focus on in the present.. I am just glad my brother didn't hate me..."Reginah lamented.
"I wouldn't hate you..." Carlos stroked her cheek, "You are the kind of sister every brother wishes to have.."
"Awww!!! Thank you..."

"So dad, we haven't told Reginah about our business dinner tonight with the Muigais.." Carlos reminded.
"Yeah, I almost forgot son..So baby would you like to....."
"Yes, i would love to accompany you guys..." Reginah agreed even before he could finish his statement..

"You know their son Brad is her boyfriend..." Carlos blurted out and Reginah slapped his arm thinking her dad would be mad.
"That is great. He is a good young man.. Plus this what we need because of the new project we are doing together..." Anthony smiled...

"I am glad..." Reginah faked a smile...

Anthony thought Reginah was warming up to him, little did he know she needed to go there and settle some old scores.. Some people had begun to cross their limits...
