Pierced Rose - Episode 36

 

Reginah  wasn't ready to deal with the demons of the  past. Brad never  called her even once after the Peter scenario. He never came around. She could see him walking around school with Isabelle, he looked happier. Every time she walked past them Brad could always ignore her whereas Isabelle smiled wickedly. One could think she had won a lottery  or something. 

Every time Reginah tried to put the best face for the world to see accompanied with a fake smile . She always had to inhale deeply and pretend it was fine with them hanging together but deep down she was breaking. It was like a storm that cuts a path. 

Reginah was seated at the bench waiting for the bikes to be done being tested. No matter how many times she tried to console herself that being away from Brad was the best choice, the pain took her down to her knees. 

"Can i sit?"Jayson asked sitting beside her.

"You are already seated anyway." Reginah rolled her eyes looking the other direction.

"It feels great riding with you again. I really missed that."

"I wish i could say the same but i would be lying."

"You should atleast try and hear me out."

"I waited for an explanation for f-cking six years and now am done. I don't care anymore." 

"Did you break up with Brad because of me?" Jayson whispered only for Reginah to laugh sarcastically.

"Who are you??? What are you??YOU mean nothing to me, we just grew apart."

"He loves you so much Renah, he might be acting all strong but since you two broke up a month ago he barely smiles."

"I don't know whether to be happy but sad

. You giving me love advice you must be drunk. What do you know about love??? You, yourself left your girlfriend without goodbye and you didn't care how she would feel."

"If only you would let me explain my reasons. I loved you so much and i didn't wanna leave my Renah behind." Jayson yelled louder than intended tears burning behind his eyes. Reginah could feel some truths in his voice but chose to ignore. 

"Your Renah died the day you left.Do you have an idea what i went through??" Reginah stood up and took some few steps away from the bench.

"It was also not easy for me. I always missed you." Jayson walked towards her," My life was difficult without you." He turned her around to look at him.

"Mine too but now i love Brad."

"Then why did you two break up??"

"Because we cant be happy together. I don't wanna hurt him. Unlike you i have a conscious." 

"He is my friend and trust me he loves you a lot. I was ready to fight for you until i saw how happy you made each other during our visit to Mombasa."

"Thanks God you didn't try to fight for me because I would have skinned you alive. i don't think that i will ever forgive for causing  me pain. You left when i needed you the most and thats unforgivable."

Reginah begun walking away but Jayson held her hand," I am so sorry."

"Save your breath because i am never gonna forgive you. And if you are really Brads friend why did you not tell him about us???"

"And if you love him like you claim, why did you not tell him about us???"

Reginah was speechless. 

"I thought so too,"Jayson beamed before walking away to the racing line. Reginah was left wondering why she never told Brad about her and Jayson. There was nothing to hide so why was she hesitant.

Reginah also walked to the racing line when she noticed their friends were standing there. When Brad saw her he snaked his arm around Isabelle's waist. Her eyes were holding a thousand ocean of tears but she had to act okay.

"BFF, we are here to watch you. Dont let me down." Ben teased hugging her.

"Its just practice dummy." Reginah smiled hugging Mike and Malcolm ignoring the new couple.

Brad wanted to hug Reginah, scope her off the ground and kiss her wishing her luck but he had lost the right to that. Reginah never loved him, she was only toying with his feelings. He was tired of pretending to like Isabelle whereas even the way she breathed irritated him but  he needed a rebound for his crumbled heart. He wanted a shoulder to lean on before he went crazy out of grief. He wasn't the kind to let his feelings show but he wanted to cry.

Reginah's thoughts were preoccupied with the thoughts of Brad and Isabelle that she didnt realize when she fell off the bike.

She was there lying on the ground, the bike on top of her. Her head bleeding but that pain was nothing equivalent to what she felt inside. Everyone ran to her rescue apart from Brad who faked to be unbothered and his pretty little devil.

"Brad help us here," Mike cried out but Brad shrugged. Yes, he loved her but he wasn't ready to forgive her betrayal. She always took his love for weakness but he was done. He wanted to run to her and help her but that wasn't his work anymore.

Reginah could feel the pain burn to its worst degree. It was the price she was bound to pay. She was there crying, people thought it was from the injury on her head but it was from her heart. Only she understood why she was crying.  

Brad couldn't stand to see her hurt so Isabelle and him got into the car and drove away. Now it became a sure thing to Reginah that he had already moved on and so she had to do it too.
