I thought Tola would be so happy to see me, but she was just staring at me,My parents welcomed me back, Is that how you will welcome your mother I said.
Mom welcome, she held me so tight, i missed you dear, I missed you too she replied
Dad told me how Omotola had to hawk chewing Stick in the village just to pay her fees, I felt really bad, Dad you could have borrowed ,I said
How do you expect me to borrow money when I don't know how you are faring, and I don't want my grandchild to be enslaved for inability to pay back, Dad said
Am really sorry about that, things have not been that easy for me over there, I had to make a lot of sacrifice, so I can pay part of my debt and give you people money to cater for yourselves. I said
I later went to mummy twin's place to pay some of the money,
Mummy twins thank you so much for your understanding, I said almost kneeling down . Mummy Tola you don't need to thank me, I am doing what I can to help a friend. She said.

I went into Tola's room, my dear am so sorry for all u've been through this past month, this is your next term school fees I said handing over #500 to her, I will be going back to onitsha this weekend I said handing over a box to her.
Omotola's POV
Mummy, please stay a little more with me, I said crying, Open the box and see what is inside She said, I opened the box and saw a gown and a pair of trousers, and a birthday card.. Thank u ma, I said as she walked out of the room.
Mom left for onitsha that weekend, I waited 3 months for her to return, but she didn't.
One morning, grandpa was fetching water from a drum to bath, he slumped and died, it was a very bad experience, I was there when grandpa was struggling to breath and when he finally gave up the ghost.
I called my mom to inform her, she called her elder siblings, no one ever thought grandpa would die this soon, he still told me a story before going to bed last night.
I will really miss him, they decided too bury him immediately, I didn't know my mum's siblings where this rich till the burial day.
A week after the burial, mom went back to onitsha, grandma begged Aunty Funke to take me with her to Ijebu Ode, I didn't want to go because I felt grandma will be lonely and might need assistant since she was sick.
Don't worry Omotola, I will take care of myself, just be a good girl she said.
I followed Aunty Funke to Ijebu Ode , I was very happy about it, a new chapter of my life has been open I thought
