Overcomer - Episode 10
Omotola's POV
My aunt kept on torturing me, insulting me almost every day, I started having low self-esteem, I hardly talk to people.
Two years later, I finished my basic education, preparing for common entrance into secondary school.
My 10th year birthday was thee happiest day of my life, i I saw my mum , for the first time in four years.
BUNMI'S POV
Omotola, my darling, am sorry for not being around for a while, I will make it up to you. I threw a surprise birthday party for her,
Thank you mummy , she replied after the party, My sister Funke has really been of great help , I don't need anyone to tell me, she has treated my daughter well , she brought the idea of the surprise party,
She treated her like her own daughter, Big sis you are spoiling this girl , you don't allow her to do anything . I said.
I broke the good news to my sister and my daughter, i am getting married, everyone shouted for Joy, this comes for celebration.
Mom will I go with you, Omotola said, yes dear, you are going with me. Why are you behaving like we not been taking good care of you here, funke asked.
I smiled , don't mind her
Omotola's POV
This was the first time I celebrated birthday in my life, I was very happy when mommy said she was getting married, and I was going to move to Lagos with her .
Since mum came, aunty Funke has been so nice, she bought me gifts almost every day, she stopped me from working, when I asked Mom if she was taking me with her, aunty Funke persuaded me to stay, but I refused.
Funke's POV
I wasn't happy Tola was going , I tried talking to Bunmi, Sis, I just want to be there for her she said.
Ok, no problem, I tried convincing Omotola, bought her lots of gifts, she refused.
Sister Funke, thank you so much for all you do, Bunmi said
No need to mention, am trying to be my sister's keeper, Omotola we will miss you
Omotola's POV
I smiled when aunty said she will miss me, I will also miss you ma.
Mom I will love to visit someone before we leave, she has really been of help to me here.
No time for that, we can probably visit or call the person later.
Even if I was not happy with her answer, I replied ok ma.
We got to lagos, freedom at last!!
Mom got married to Mr Alabi, who was in his mid fourties.
The ceremony was indeed memorable, grandma also graced the occasion.
A new chapter of my life has been opened, am so excited to have a new father.
