Overcomer - Episode 21

 

Omotola's POV

It hurts to say goodbye , especially to those who made ur life had meaning, Senior Mercy is one person, I will never forget in my life, as they say WE MEET TO PART AND WE PART TO MEET.

I went home for third term holiday, I saw the kids with a lady, I greeted her and went inside, Good evening sir, i greeted my stepfather, good evening my angel, why did you not inform me that you will be coming home,  I would have come to pick you, he said. Am no longer a kid, where is mum? I asked

Gone for her business trips as usual, you look so beautiful dear, How long has she been away, I said ignoring his compliments . Two months dear, won't you respond to the compliments, He said. It's not compulsory, or is it, I said leaving the sitting room.

Mr Alabi's POV

Wonders Shall never end, this girl has grown wings, or maybe it's her new way of expressing how much she has missed me, I said to myself smiling.

Later in the night, I tried opening her door, but I couldn't, she had locked it, so I went to Asake's (maid's) room,  we had fun, Asake unlike Tola , was so easy to get, I want you to go out with the kids tommorrow, as early as possible, ok Oga (boss) she said, thank you, i i said ki*sing her , good night.

Before, I got up from bed the next day, Asake had gone out with the kid, I was so happy, after all it's Saturday, my free day, Good morning sir, Tola greeted, good morning to the most beautiful girl in the universe, I stood up, holding her waist, put your hands down, she shouted, let this be the last time u hold me like that.

I didn't mind her, I moved my hands to her bo*bs, it's bigger now, I said with so much excitement, she then c*ressed my chest,  I know you will, your Shakara (forming) is too much, I felt something hard hit my head, I was already bleeding, thank God, my wife came in almost immediately, I was rushed to the hospital

Omotola's POV

I could not tolerate him any longer, I knew if I didn't play along with him, he would eventually r*pe me,  i hit the flower vase on his head,  he started bleeding, I tried to carry him, but I couldn't, thank God mom came in almost immediately, we rushed him to the hospital, where he was admitted for 3 weeks.

Mom blamed me for everything, you want to kill my husband, she didn't even care to listen to my part of the story, this man has been more than a father to you, she said, but mom, keep your dirty mouth shut, if anything bad happens to him, I will make you rot in jail, you this unfortunate child, i should have ab*rted you long time ago, she said angrily.

I cried and prayed to God to please spare his life, mom made my life miserable, finally he was better, the doctor discharged him from the hospital, 2 days to my school resumption, this girl cannot stay with me again, Mr Alabi said, mum tried begging him, but he refused.

Can you see what you have caused, you will have to stay in school through out this session, I will send you money, after your waec, you will have to go to Aunty Funke's place. I replied angrily, it's better than being here, you are not even remorseful, I regret giving birth to you, you have brought nothing butp pain to me, she said walking away

School resumed, after sometime i noticed, my family issues where weighing me dido, so o decided to put more effort in my spiritual life , my study and also my duties as the head girl, to an extent, I was able to reduce the level of bullying in the school

. For 3 terms, I didn't see my mom, whenever I call , she rarely picks my call, though she was sending money and paying my fees, but money is not all.

I wrote my Jamb and had 320, I became the talk of town in school, I became lot of people's role model, I Wish they knew more about me, they would not even wish for my kind of life, my principal was so proud of me, the news got to mom, she sent a gift to me, I handed over has the head girl.

I graduated as the best student in my set, I brought out my diary, the one Dr Kemi gave me,I had to update it,  I remembered Stephanie and Bisi, they contributed to my academic success, then I remembered Mercy , her impact in my life can never be forgotten, for once in my life, I was super proud of my self, mum did not come for my Valedictory service, after the ceremony, I board a bus to my aunt's place. 

I was happy to see Taiwo again, he also just finished his secondary school education Kehinde hasn't changed, always rude, Aunty Lola, I  greeted her, I couldn't really recognize her, she was so fat, I mistaked her for my aunt's at first, Aunty Funke welcomed me that day.

After that day, she was already assigning duties to me, the  only difference was that, she was no longer bullying me , like she use to do before.

Two months later, my waec results came out, I had all A's , I was given scholarship to study in any university of my choice, by my school alumni's, Good has been so faithful to me, I was so happy, but couldn't show it because Taiwo failed 3 of his core courses, Kehinde's results was nothing to write home about

I was giving admission to study Law in the prestigious University of Ibadan, I was very happy, at least I can be a bit free from family drama, my aunt's was so proud of me,  Lola wasn't happy, and she didn't even hide it, I don't really blame her, she finished her secondary School education 7 years ago, she find it hard to gain admission, later Aunty Rose helped her secure admission in a polytechnic, she eventually dropped out because she could not cope.

I resumed to school towards the ending of the year.
