Overcomer - Episode 20

 

Omotola's POV

Almost all the acting prefect where looking good,  30minutes to the assembly, I was called by the disciplinary committee, along with Darasimi, I have not even seen her since that day,

Mrs Nwajuo said, we wouldn't be taking long today, it's almost time for assembly, as you can see not all the committees are on sit, Darasimi you will be washing the school general toilets for one week, you can go.

Thank you ma, she said, I am sure she expected worse, Senior Maggie walked into the office, I started shaking, I was almost choking sef, am in trouble, I did not even tell Mercy, I didn't want to bother her because  of her exams, I said to myself.

Omotola Benson, you are hereby freed from this allegations, Mrs Nwajuo said,  Maggie is not a l*sbian, she said, it was a set up, to confirm if you have received changed, we are happy you have, Maggie brought out a recorder and replayed all that happened, I was speechless.

Make sure you never go back to it again, Mr Kelvin said. You can go to the assembly.

Mr Nwokebelu announced that Miss Esan has been transferred to another school, and a new Principal will be resuming on friday, we want everything thing to be set before her arrival, therefore we will be badging the prefects today . And I also beg of you all to be of good behavior.

The assembly became very quiet, people started adjusting their clothes , this are the prefects for this year,  staring from hostel prefect, Samson Marvelous and Tolu aBadmus for Rima house, Kemi Balogun and Chioma Tagbo for Hadeija house, the hostel captains of the 7 houses where called, then they moved to dinning, punctuality, and labor prefect, my name wasn't called, I thought it won't have any effect on me, but it was, already, they entered the religious prefect, I could see Stephanie and Bisi pointing at my direction laughing, 

Tears started dropping, I was trying to control it, when I heard the head girl for this session is Omotola Benson, I couldn't feel my legs, I couldn't move, o was speechless, me Tola, I  thought I was imagining, until some girls from my class carried me on their necks and took me outside, I tried looking at Stephanie and Bisi, but I couldn't see them, I knew their dreams was chattered, the newly badged prefects where told to wait behind, we where addressed by the vice principals, before going back to our classes.

My class mates where already jubilating.

The new Principal arrived on Friday before the assembly, she was young, beautiful and strict , we could tell that from her speech, when she spoke to the prefects and then teachers.

Good morning Student , I am Mrs Mary Olatunji, she introduced herself on the assembly ground, she then spotted a girl that tuck out her shirt, Come forward she said with the microphone, the girl pretended not to hear when all eyes where already on her.

Head girl, bring her out, it was Stephanie Okoro,  why is your skirt this short, you must get new pairs as soon as possible, go back to the line.

In the absence of any other announcement, let's call it a day.

Working with Mrs Mary was easier than I imagined, she was Godsent to our school, the SS3 students started their wassce, I couldn't really see Mercy, she wasn't available, and immediately after their exams , every other students started their examination,  rumour had it that Stephanie and Bisi where facing the disciplinary committee.

Stephanie's POV

I and Bisi where expelled from school during our waec period, Mr Kelvin tried begging for us but to know avail, that stiffnecstif Principal would not listen.

I thought she was like Miss Esan, I went to her office to seduce her, I told her she will enjoy it, she gave me two dirty slap, no one has ever slapped me in my life, she also walked me out of her office 

She then cancelled the investigation , no further investigations, this girl is a bad influence, by then Bisi was already involved, she expelled us from the school without considering the fact that we where writing waec already

My Dad, came to school to have a one on one discussion with her, even offered her a huge sum of money, she bluntly refused , who does that

For the first time in my life, I agreed money couldn't buy everything.  My Dad was very disappointed , i couldn't write my waec, I later enrolled for GCE .

Mercy's POV

Finally done and dusted, it wasnt easy, six years is finally over, Head girl, I said, as she was coming to my direction, she was almost kneeling down to greet me, I quickly stopped her, it's been a while , I hope your exams went well, she said. Yes, thank you. Am so happy for you dear, I said hugging her.

Thanks for the impact you have made in my life, she said . Please don't give up in life and make sure you never go back to your sins, talk to your step father when you get home, I said.

Then, she handed over a gift to me, we might never meet again in life, but please don't forget me,  she said in tears as she hugged me, I will really miss you, I pray we meet again.
