Overcomer - Episode 23

 

Omotola's POV

I went back to school, 2nd semester was quite different from 1st semester, I was already used to the school, the only thing that made it difficult where the activities , church programmes here and there, departmental parties and dinner, one had to be wise if not you will end up going for all of them and have less time for studies.

I use the opportunity to sell clothing accessories for parties, I was able to save some money.

Dr Kemi invited me over to her place for the weekend, since you refused to come on your own, i decided to send an invite, she gave me some foodstuffs while I was returning back to school. Words can't express my gratitude to her.

I selected the programs attended, they don't need me everywhere, before you know it, exams had started,  2nd semesters work was very easy, but some student  failed it the more, because of inadequate preparations , I was so happy about mine, I had all A's, Mercy told me to come and spend the holiday at her place, I refused at first, but she kept on begging me, I had no choice than to go, after all I can't be going to Chioma's place all the time.

At Mercy's house, I never regretted going there, her parents (Mr and Mrs Jaja) where so kind, her elder brother, Bro Joshua , oh my gosh, very handsome, see six packs, see height, I had to control my self, when our eyes met, he looked at me with shock, and I wondered why.

We gisted, as we where cooking in the kitchen, Mrs Jaja is fun to be with, We ate together , that was one thing I admired a lot in Mercy's Family, I wish mine can be like that, through out my stay in their house,I had a new prayer points, God I really want to know my father, even if it's hos picture, mom said she doesn't have his picture, then people hardly snapped

School Finally resumed another session, 200level already, myresult was advertising me, many people wanted to make friends with me, why some where jealous . I had to be extra careful.

Bisi came to visit me , one-day, I was happy to see her, I welcomed her and bought her a drink, welcome to my home, I said

Bisi's POV

Wow!!, you look really more beautiful as you grow, I said biting my lower lips, I just wish we could you know have fun at least once more, you know how it feels

Bisi, I thought you said you have changed, why are you still talking about the past, she said

I gave my life to Christ, does not mean I don't have urges that needs to be satisfied, I said unbuttoning my shirt.

Bisi, you dont need to do this, pls button your shirt, I handed over those urges to God a long time ago and we had an agreement that I will get them back at the right time, you can do the same , you should not be conformed to this world, renew your mind, this world and everything will pass someday. Will you continue in sin saying that grace may around, God forbid she said

I did not come for sermon, I know the way to church, if you can't give me what I want, fine, I will leave. I said

This is not what God wants you to be, repent before it's too late, she walked out angrily slamming the door

Omotola's POV

I welcomed Bisi to my house, thinking it was an harmless visit, until she started nonsense, I wasn't scared for the first time, I opened my mouth and started talking, at first she felt bad, later she got angry, and then left.

I have given all to God, am no longer a slave to sin, I smiled to my self,  my phone started ringing, it was Mercy calling,  I need a favor from you, promise me you will do it, yes I will, anything good,

Lol, will I tell you to do bad, can you go to mum's shop for me, she needs some one to stay there for a while, she wants to do some work at home, her workers are no longer there , she said.

Consider it done, am free now, thanks dear, she said, as she cuts the call.

I went to Mrs Jaja's shop, she was gahap to see me, it's been a while , you just abandoned us, no matter I didn't, I said smiling. Mercy called me, ok thanks, I might take long, Mummy don't worry, I will go home to do the chores for you. I said.

I hope you can cook well too, I have soup ingredients inside the freezer, yes ma ,  she handed over the house keys to me.

Thanks dear, Josh will be coming home today, in case  he meets you, pls make something for him.

I got to the house , cleaned everywhere and was also cooking, I learnt how to do multiple chores while I was staying with Aunty Funke, the bell rang, who is it, am coming please.

Welcome brother Joshua, he smiled, I assisted him with his bag, do you want to eat anything. Poundo yam will be fine, he replied, ok sir, I replied, he was looking much more handsome smiling.

Josh's POV

Wow!!, This girl is really Beautiful, I said to myself, it wasn't my first time seeing her, maybe because we we're we're at home, no distractions, I could admire her so well.

I took my shower and went to the sitting room, Brother Josh, your food is ready,  I will be leaving now. She said

I  frowned a little won't you watch me eat, or did you perhaps put poison inside, I said jokingly. Why would I , she said a bit nervous and angry, am not fighting with you, smile please. Let's eat together, No sir , am fine, I will sit here while you eat, she said.

If you inside, on a normal day with the way I was hungry, I would have eaten very fast, but I tried as much as possible to eat slowly, even if I could not say why,  may be just to admire her or to keep her with me for a little while.

Omotola's POV

I was so tensed, I could hear my heart beating so loud, I just hope he is not hearing the beats,  common eat fast, I need to leave here.
