Omotola's POV

I spoke to mum after the party, I noticed her mood, mum what's wrong, are you not happy for me, I came out with a first class, my life is beginning to have meaning

BUNMI'S POV

Why won't I be happy for my daughter, am extremely happy for u Barrister Omotola Benson, if not I wouldn't be here I said.

Then mom why are u so cold, the mom I know is a party freak, she said

Mom am not happy,  your step father's attitude towards me has really changed, we fight almost everyday, he told me to change all my property name to his name since we are married, he started disturbing me since his business collapsed, I don't know what to do Tola.

Its not a big deal changing the name but i am scared, his attitude has changed, he is so concerned with.my account balance, how I spend my money, and the way he treats Asake, o don't understand

Asake is that not your maid, she asked , yes, she had a baby sometimes ago, what about her husband, she asked.

She has two kids now, she said her husband and her had a fight when she had the first son, we took care of her son for her, before you know it, she said they reconciled, I told her to bring him, she kept on playing me, before I knew it, she is pregnant, she had the 2nd son, we took responsibility again, until she got pregnant again, I told her to pack her property and leave , your step father told her to stay, it resulted to a big fight, he battered me mercilessly.

What??, She opened her mouth in surprise, and now he is giving me time to change the names, or he files a divorce plus taking my baby girls away from me.

This is serious, mom what are you going to do, she asked, am confused, I replied, ok, just keep posting him, while I go to school, we will think of something, she said.

Mom, all will be well, I assured her, even if I wasn't even sure of that, but I know God won't suffer his own.

Omotola's POV

I don't understand why Alabi will beat my mom over a maid, it was so annoying, mom has been so good to him, when his business collapsed, mom has been the one taking care of everything, at a point she handed over her business on Lagos to him, he squandered all the money. And he has the audacity to tell her to change the name of her properties to him

Mom travelled back to Lagos that week, after some time I went to law school at Abuja, law school was them stressful, I met different people, like i mean intelligent people, if I want to keep being the best, I have to give it my all, no wonder Mercy reduced drastically when she came back from law school.

 I and Chioma was finally called to bar, though we did not go to law school in d same place, , Mr Benson threw a big party for us at Ibadan.

The greatest news was that Mercy was  getting married in two months time, I was so happy for her, Mrs Jaja called me and Josh, when are u both getting married , I think i have to call your mom, she said looking at me.

Mom came over that weekend, she stayed in Mr Benson's house, my stepfather said be doesn't want to be involved with anything that pertains me again, I wasn't bothered, my father has families I said to mom.

Mr Jaja and his family came over to Mr Benson's place and the wedding was slated to five months time

Me and Mercy did the wedding shopping together, I was going to be her chief brides maid, I told her about my mom's predicament, 

Mercy's POV

Are you sure your step father is not responsible for the pregnancy . He can't be that ruthless, ok, we are both lawyers, let's walk together.

Tell Mom to get a fake documents for her properties and give you the original, so he wont see it, then change it to his name, let's start From there 

Wow!!, Bravo!!, I didn't even think of that, thank you so much Mercy, she said clapping for me, I know speaking to you was the best solution. thanks for all your help.

Omotola's POV

I wasn't happy when Taiwo told me about all that has been happening to my aunt's , her husband had neglected her, he spends money on Taiwo and his new wife. And Kehinde died from a strange sickness, Lola got pregnant for a random guy, she doesn't even know his where about,  he said

I have to visit her, she was so happy to see me, Tola you have really changed, you look so sophisticated, congratulations on your engagement , she said. 

I noticed she was yawning, was wrong aunty, nothing she said, aunty please talk to me, am very hungry, I haven't eaten since yesterday, me and Lola, and she is heavily pregnant, I gave her some money, she bought some items in the street and cooked, while we talked.

Funke's POV

I lost my job when Kehinde was sick, I had to take care of him, I spent all my savings in the hospital, she said crying.

He died, she cried, he died of prostate cancer, his father got fed with all that has been happening and got married last year, I caused everything, I gave him so much freedom, he said he wasn't going to school, I supported him, his dad kept on shouting and warning, but instead I shun and insults him.

He slept with virtually every thing on skirt, sometimes brought them home, I ignored, Believing I had a son, it won't affect him, the girls are the one that has problem.

See my daughter , she is carrying the second pregnancy,  I said crying. The first was a random guy, we thought it was a mistake, until she repeated it again

Omotola's POV

Aunty please don't cry, I tried consoling her, I know no matter what I say it can't mend her broken heart, I tried preaching salvation to her, but she said I will  think of it, I don't believe in all this religious stuff, ok maybe, I pray it won't be too late before you realise ur mistakes.

Aunty, I have to go now, I think you should start a petty business,at least to put food on your table, I gave her #15000, use it to start something, I said.
