Lol you all have made me post an episode so soon, thanks to all reading!

Uche walked behind his kinsmen as they made their way towards Ego's father's compound for the marriage ceremony. It was two months after Obiageli had been buried. Ekene and his father were all smiles when the bride came out and he admitted she looked beautiful dressed up for them but she wasn't Oby, it wasn't her he had pictured all his life. The marriage ceremony ended and Ego moved into his house.

It was two years into their marriage, Uche was known to be a sober young man who hardly attended or spoke in village meetings, he was also known to frustrate his young wife . They had stayed in his fathers compound before he moved to stay in Ekene's large compound when his hut was completed.

Uche was carving a stick in front of the hut trying to make an arrow out of it, his thoughts on Obiageli, he finished with it then kept it aside as he took up the yam he had roasted with a knife and began to scrape it...Ego came from behind him

" Nkem, if you wanted to eat yam, why didn't you ask me to roast it for you?'she asked, he said nothing but continued scraping before he decided to reply

" It's no use, I'm already through "

"It now looks as if I'm starving you, I made fufu for you"

He blew on the yam "I'm not hungry, I just want to chew something "

"Eheh..okay now" she said and sat beside him, he looked at her

"Get me palmoil if you want to help"

She went in while he continued in his thoughts, an elder passed and he greeted him, though he was distracted, frustrated with life.

He had known he was making a big mistake marrying her and had been right, flashback to their wedding night she had been the one to call him inside, he had sat outside like he was now, staring into the night, brooding with his thoughts on Oby..

She wasn't a virgin like he had presumed, he didn't stay for her food, he had left for the forest very early in the morning since he hadn't slept at all. When he returned, he prepared his bath water, as she came and begged him not to tell her in laws that she wasn't a virgin like had been boasted by her father

"She waited for the man of her heart, rejecting every other man"he had said

" What's my business?"he had replied, then went to keep the kettle in the kitchen, When he returned she said

"Why didn't you ask me for your bath water, I'm your wife"

As he took his towel he replied "I'll get used to that".

And had gotten used to it, for the past two and half years of their marriage he had endured her, because of what Obiageli had told him that night..the night she died

" you know I still can't believe that I fought and quarrelled with a witch.. wonder what she must have done to me"Ego had said after she was buried.

Uche looked at her now as she came back with a plate of palmoil, he suddenly lost appetite, he took his arrow and stood up, she looked surprised

"Nkem,  I have brought the palm oil" she said

"Keep it, I'll eat later" he walked out of the compound.
