Made - Episode 26

 

Work was now something i could look foward to. It was really nice working with people who loved from the bottom of their hearts. Having David pop up whenever he got a chance was a bonus to my already great day. Mercy and Peter were now going out. She had listen to her heart and from the glow she had on everyday i knew she was not regretting her decision. All of us except Mary - Philip's assistant took our lunch at Zuna's cafe making it more lively . I would sit by David every time and from time to time he would whisper sweet nothings in my ears. Our discussion mostly revolved around our faith and contemporary issues that were affecting our day to day life. We shared ideas while feeding our stomachs lightening loads on each others backs.

Indeed charity was the bond of perfection.

But above all things put on love which is the bond of perfection. Colossians 3:14

The project was now a success story.  Our company was all over the news for the last two weeks. In a months time we would the initiating a similar project on another location. Today's board meeting was a pure success. I looked at my watch. 11:00 am. I had one and half hour before heading out for lunch. David pushed the door open. It was about time he showed his face.

"How is my lady doing?"

I pouched my lips and David kissed them lightly then proceeded to kiss me on the single dimple i had on my left cheek.

"I am fine, i hope Philip and Peter are not trying to choke you with work."

. He was the very defination of a gentleman. He helped David alot with work.

"They wouldn't succeed if they tried. Am not leaving my bride any time soon."

We both laughed heartily.

"You can't leave first... you are the strong one _ you will be the one to bury me." 

His demeanor changed to an expression of pain.

"Don't say that babe.. let's talk about something else...enough with the death talk."

"Like what?"

"Like me wanting to start a large scale production of onions." David replied.

"Really? _ That would be great babe. Anything you want to do am here to support you."

I rose to embrace him. His warmth was always amazing . I could fall asleep in his arms anytime. The scent radiating from him always made it difficult to break free from his embrace. 

"I will be patnering with Philip. He has even offered to loan me the starting capital. I hope you are okay with me working with him."

"Whatever works for you is fine with me ... i trust your judgement. Philip is a good one _ but i will give you the starting capital."

"Really?"

"Yes really... i won't take no for an answer."

He pulled me back into a tight hug and i placed my head on his chest.

"I love you baby."

"I love you more sweetheart."

Empress Catya was crying. By Empress Catya i mean my beautiful sister Alicia was crying. That did not happen often. Her tears were that precious.

Lloyd hugged me tight.

"I won't miss your wedding even if it was tommorow."

I clung to him fighting the tears that were threatening to fall. He released me then pulled Alicia into a tight hug. They just hold onto each other as if it was the last time seeing each other.  A month had passed and Lloyd had to go back. He was resuming classes the following week. Dad was not feeling well so mum stayed home to take care of me. David, Alicia and i drove Lloyd to the airport. Rachael insisted on letting us go alone.

Fligh leaving for Adiss Ababa will be taking off in the next thirty minutes. Passengers are requested to move to the loading gate. Flight number 31CT.

A female voice rang through the intercom.

"That's my flight. I will be connecting to Benin in Ethiopia."

We both ran into his arms again. He had to pull us away.

"Bro _ take care of my sister."

He gave David a shoulder hug then they snapped their  fingers against each other's. I had to learn that greeting gesture.

"Bye y'all i love you. I'll be back before you know it." He grabbed the suitcase by David's side then blow a kiss towards us in the air. We all made a gesture of catching it then rubbed it against where our hearts were supposedly. He winked then dissappeared among the crowd of people. Alicia kept waving at the crowd frantically. I stared too hoping to catch a piece of the denim shirt he was wearing.

"Princess we have to go." David whispered in my ears jerking my gaze away from where Lloyd had passed. I took Alicia's hands into mine.

"Baby siz.. we have to go now."

Mercy sat on the steps anxiously tapping her feet. Alicia greeted her and fled inside. She would be in a low mood for a while. Lloyd was our big brother who we had learnt to share secrets with.

. He had taken care of us and held our hands through our toughest times while he was still in the country. If not for David, i would still be in a foul mood too.

"Good afternoon Mercy. Is everything okay?"

"Everything is fine. Can i talk to you in private?" She nodded towards my direction.

I reluctantly pulled myself from David's arm and followed Mercy inside into my room. We passed Alicia in the living room flipping through chanells.

I closed the bedroom door then perched on the bed. Mercy was pacing nervously about the window.

"Mercy _ what is it now?"

She did not respond immidiately. She kept on pacing. Clutching on the slim bag she had on her shoulder.

"Mercy you are making me nervous. Please tell me what it is."

"You remember that time i told you i heard the name Kim Maxwell before_ and not from you?"

"Yes i remember."

"Well... now i know from where."
