Love Eternal - Episode 8

 

I didn't know what to expect... But this was certainly not it. 

I was supposed to resume work the next day being today and I was supposed to meet and greet with my new wards. 

I didn't even get a chance to celebrate this new achievement with Axel, Ruby and Jeff, I just updated them on the situation, handed over my work to Jeff for the period I will be gone and then packed up to leave my house. 

Leaving my house wasn't a problem, I hate staying there, the house wasn't a problem but the nightmares I've had there are the only thing to keep my company. 

When I got to the official living residence of the Royal family, Butler Gabriel was there to welcome me with the contracts and other NDA's that I had to sign, apparently I can't broadcast anything I do in here to the world, as if I had the thought.

It was after then he told me he wouldn't be staying with us, apparently he will be staying with Prince Niko in his own wing of castle, although connected to this one, he's never around and I won't be seeing him, only The Duke, Prince Harry makes an appearance. 

Where I am right now is the tea room, waiting for the princesses to show up, obviously they don't want to as I have been seating here for close to thirty minutes now and the maid has reported three times that they are touching up their make up.

It's Nine o'clock in the morning.

What do I know about the princesses? King Damien was thought to be an only child because his mother then didn't give birth to any other child after him only after fifteen years did she give birth to Niko, three years later to The Duke, Harry.

King Damien had the first princess when he was thirty and the second and third five and ten years later, making princess Sofia fifteen, Princess Amanda ten and Princess Penny five. 

That's literally all I know, the princesses do not make appearances, only at official events and holiday photos. 

The door opens and I blink, although I wasn't expecting the princesses to be decked in Barbie gowns and shoes while singing to birds but this isn't what I had in mind. 

My eyes slides to Gabriel where he is standing by the window expecting to see shock but he is as stoic as ever. 

Then again this might not be new to him. 

Princess Sofia is in jean bum shorts and a tank top, heaven knows if she bends the wrong way I will see her butt from over here. 

She looks bored as she chews gum with her hair all over the place and her make up as loud as possible. 

Princess Amanda just looks subdued and suspicious, dressed from head to toe in  sweat clothes. 

Princess penny is the only one dressed in a gown, holding a ragged doll that is missing one hand while looking at me like she might murder me with her hair pin. 

I gulp. 

"Hello ladies, this is Miss Luna, she will be your new governess" Gabriel says and I try to gauge their reactions, I get nothing. 

They look dead in the eyes and they look like they want to get out of here. 

I try to salvage this situation. 

"Hey girls, my name is Luna, you can call me Lulu, I hope we can be good friends" No response come from them and I look to Gabriel uncertainly. 

He looks like he might sigh. 

"Let's try to get along with Luna, she has your best interest in mind,remember prince Niko says this is the last governess you will be getting, if she quits you are going off to boarding school" He says and horror climbs through me while at the same time I realize that I might not be the first person to apply for this position. 

They were desperate, I just happen to be there at right time. 

I suddenly want to rethink my decision. 

"Try to behave between now and the coronation, Be on your topmost behavior, we don't want any incidents and we certainly don't want to send any of you to a boarding school" He says, the threat apparent. 

"I will leave you ladies to it then"  he says, making a quick escape. 

I turn to the girls. 

"Uh.. So, should we all introduce ourselves?" I ask. 

They continue to stare at me and after what seems like five minutes I begin to feel uncomfortable. 

I sigh. 

I'm as bad with children as I am with relationships. 

"So.

. Do you guys have any rules? I know you aren't allowed to go to school for the time being as it is close to the coronation" I say. 

Sofia sweeps her hair off her shoulder before striking a pose. 

Here we go. 

"Stay away from us and we won't bother you, don't bother trying to use us to get closer to The Prince or The Duke, he hates us while The Duke does not care for women, do you understand what I'm saying?" 

Well.. I think I get the gist. 

"Well, I'm thirty seven.. I have no plans of falling for your uncles" I say and her brows lift.

"You are thirty seven?" 

"Yeah." 

"You look like you are twenty five" She says, I know she doesn't mean to gush. 

"Why, thank you". 

"What skin care products do you use? I need to get them" 

Well well, this sounds like it might be a negotiation. 

"I will tell you if you agree to work with me, not anything unreasonable.. Just.. Let's won't together" I say, knowing if I am to stay here I have to at least win one of their hearts. 

She stares at me for a moment before nodding. 

"Deal"

We shake hands on it.. 

"I don't understand, do we like her or not?" Amanda asks in a bored tune.. Sofia sends her a look. 

"For now.. We tolerate her" She says as if I am not there.
