I press a hand on my chest, willing myself not to become nervous, it's been a while I've come for an interview.

I stopped doing those when my company suddenly grew and I had people working for me.

 

I take another deep breath and proceed down the swanky doors of the labour exchange service this newest client is using.

 

I approach a receptionist desk, placing my card on the desk.

"Hi, I'm Luna Light, CEO of Light cleaning services, I would like to meet whoever is in charge please..."

"Are you here for the bid on the cleaning service?"

"Bid?"

"The one sent to all the highest cleaning services by our client, from your card and introduction I guess your are" She says, pressing something on her keyboard. 

"There are bids going for the position?" I ask, surprised.

"Oh of course, our client wants only the best, and they want it, we aren't the primary interviewer, we will have to evaluate your proposal before sending you to them, we are just in charge of scrapping the unimportant one's."She says and I nod, totally put out. 

I sigh, seriously knowing that Jeff has hoodwinked me into coming for this interview, I've been deceived, he knew this. 

 

Suddenly the briefcase he pressed into my hand before I got on my motorcycle suddenly makes sense. 

I guess the proposal must be in there. 

I find a flat surface, opening it and pulling out a brown envelope before handing it off to the receptionist who tells me to take a seat and wait for a short while. 

Obviously this people aren't joking around, my proposal or should I say Jeff's proposal will be evaluated in a little while. 

I decide to call the betrayer... 

 

He picks on the eight ring, avoiding responsibility. 

"You knew didn't you..?" 

"Before you get angry, you know this job will be good for our company, that amount of money will help us grow roots in another state." 

"No, it won't actually" I say, admiring my black nail polish. 

"Okay, maybe not but you need it, if you want to buy your children back from that bastard Arthur" He says and I lift my eyes, suddenly not seeing anything. 

"The proposal... Is it any good?" I ask, suddenly determined to get this thing correctly. 

"I feel insulted" He says dryly. 

"Good, I will deal with you when I get back" I say hanging up. 

Although I and Jeff quickly grew close after he saw me break down one night in front of the office when a car sped past too fast, he still can be a handful most times. 

 

"Luna Light?" The receptionist calls and I lift my hand, I'm the only one in the lobby, I see no reason why she even has to call a name. 

"Well, congrats, you've passed the preliminaries, this is the address of where you need to go to" She says as soon as I approach her desk. 

That was awfully fast..i think, but can't help feeling a little bit of relief for passing the first page. 

I grab the brown envelope she's handing me before giving her a smile and walking away, when I get to the parking lot I tear open the envelope and inside is a embossed paper telling me where to go and when. 

I blink my eyes when I see the time, it says the interview is supposed to be in two hours but the address is outside of town

Well, they aren't making this easy are they? 

I quickly get on my motorcycle, putting on my helmet and racing to meet up with the interview . 

 

I get there with ten minutes to spare getting off the bike and patting it, knowing I would have been extremely late if I had used a car. 

I brush down my pinstripe suit and pants, making sure my heels aren't scuffed before turning to get a look at where I am. 

I pause,looking down the street to clarify if I'm at the right place but I know I'm correct, there is no one in my country who doesn't know this street. 

It can't be.

I'm standing before the official residence of the royal family and suddenly everything begins to make sense. 

Why they used a labour exchange service , why the interview seems to be going to fast. 

Am I going to be working here... What is..? 

"Hello" a quiet male voice says behind me and I startle, turning to look at the person, I almost faint. 

It's the royal butler, I will know him anywhere, I've seen him countless times on TV to know he's the one. 

"Hi" I reply breathily. 

"I presume you are here for the interview?" He says in a bored tune and I realize I'm actually standing at the servants entrance, even the address was to the point. 

"Yes, you are correct" I say. 

"Follow me" He says before turning to go up the stairs, I guessed he must have seen me through the security cameras. 

I follow and I'm led to a small room where he seats and peruses a file. 

"I wil be conducting your interview" He says and I nod, taking a deep breath. 

"The LES we are using already sent us your file, it looks good" He says, his tune betraying the words. 

He sounds like he wants to send me out of his office. 

"How old are you?" He asks, his brows going up. 

I raise a brow, crossing my leg and folding my arms, wondering why it feels like I'm at my in laws. 

"it states here that you are thirty seven but you don't look a day over 30, forgery of documents is a crime miss" He says and I nod. 

"Those are correct sir, I'm indeed thirty seven" 

"And you are divorced?" 

"Yes" 

"You have two children" 

"A boy and a girl, seventeen and sixteen" I say with pride. 

He makes a noise through his nose and it seems like disapproval. 

"You fit the bill of exactly who we are looking for.. But you have an odd choice of vehicle" He says and I realize where all the animosity lies. 

"Me riding a bike sir is totally for psychological purposes, I was involved in a car accident three years ago which makes me unable to stay alone in a car for a long period of time" 

"That's unfortunate Miss Light, because if . you do get this job you will be mandated stay in cars for a while" 

"I said alone sir, I do well with other people around" I say. 

He nods. 

"Will you be averse to staying five days a week with the children you will be taking care of?" 

"Staying...? Sleeping over here?" sleeping in a castle? With royalty? 

"Yes Miss Light, we need someone who is ready to be on call at all times" He says and I nod. 

"Yes, I am not averse to that sir, but I expect to work normal working hours and to have normal holiday days" I say. 

"As expected" He grumbles. 

"Your duty is mainly to take care of the children and keep them out of trouble, with the coronation fast approaching we do not want any inadequacies" He says and I nod. 

"We will be putting you on a probationary period of two weeks until the coronation, you will be paid in that time, we will discuss whether to sign a long term contract after that" He says and I nod. 

That amount of money for just two weeks watching over three kids? Me.. A kid lover? And also vacationing in the Royal castle? Sign me up. 

 

"Welcome on board Miss Light" 

"You can call me Luna" I say, giving him a beaming smile. 

He extends a hand and as I grab it I see a vase of baby's breath behind him. 

I smile.
