Love Eternal - Episode 6
I peruse the proposals in front of me, wondering if one can possibly die from too much work.
I decide that's a stupid question because obviously I'm almost dead.
I bite my lip, my nervous gesture, as I come to terms with the fact that I will have to hire more cleaners, the jobs coming in will be too much for the staffs I have at hand and overworking my precious staff is a no no.
"What are we going to do?" Jeff asks... Referring to the understaffed situation we are facing right now.
"We can only manage for a month tops, if . We keep going at this rate 107 employees won't be able to serve the clientèle Light Cleaning is getting" He says and I know he's saying the truth, he echoing the thoughts in my head.
"Post a notice stating that we are recruiting cleaners, we will conduct an interview" I say, pushing my glasses up my nose, feeling an headache coming on.
My hand hits on a folder that looks odd and I glance through it.
"What's up with this? This client has rejected 3 of our staff?"
"Ohh they are a very picky one, that one" Jeff says in dismissal.
"Who are they?"
"I don't know, they ask for housekeeping and baby sitting through a very expensive labour service, the weirdest thing is that I've sent three of our aces and they keep sending them back, even before they finish the interview, they say they want the 'best'" He says, making air quotes.
"Why didn't you tell me? "
"I did actually but you always cover the subject with talks about Ruby's baby" He says, disgruntled
"Oh"
"Oh" He echoes.
What? It's not everyday my girlfriend gets pregnant, I have to show maximum support
"Well, You can do that, while at the same time taking care of your buisness" He says and I realize I said that out loud
"Don't be jealous Jeff, You just feel bad we didn't take you along for the ultrasound"
"I'm not jealous, I'm just never gonna forgive you guys." he says and I chuckle.
"So... What are we gonna do about this client? Do we drop them?" He asks, coming back to the earlier matter.
"Well yeah we should, we can't please everyon...." I pause when my eyes snags on the figure we are supposed to be paid, there's so many zeros.
"I guess you just saw the zeros" Jeff says drily.
"They are many" I exclaim.
"Yes, they are" He says, chewing on the cap his pen.
"We need this contract" I say.
"We do" He echoes.
"Send in the best, the bestest of the best"
"I already sent in Jenny, Jamie and Jewel, the triple J and they were sent back" He says

"Why?"
"They say they want the best"
"But they are the best"
"No, not really" He mutters.
"What?"
"You are the best, and house keeping is just your forte."
He says and I give him a snide look, I stopped cleaning by myself a while ago when I found out I could get my employees to do it.
"You don't expect me to.."
"For that amount of money I expect you to do everything" He says.
I bite my lip again, he notices this gesture and sighs.
"You could always get hired and then convince them to pick one of the triple J's, you own a company after all" He says and I nod, that's a good idea.
I say, my eyes going to the bouquet of baby's breath on the table, although not the original one the old lady from the store gave me, I've made it a tradition to get one bouquet at least every week, I've decided it's my good luck charm.
"Let's do this" I say and he nods.
"We will set the interview for tomorrow" He says and this time I nod.
