Imperfection - Episode 9

 

FRENZY

The show took place at Landmark Event Centre which emitted Natasha’s pink light in an umbrella-like shape on the night of the show. With over 1,500 attendees, it was obvious that the event  was a good start for Natasha.

The tone of Natasha’s show was Red and blue. Guests were invited to pose for photos and followed by a tiny bit of refreshments before they could resume taking pictures with their friends and fellow celebrities . This reminded me of the Victoria Secret’s fashion show that I had to attend when I was out of the country for Nash. She was a model under Victoria Secret for years before she decided to come back to Nigeria to make a career of her own.
On every seat was a packet of cards on the six themes of the show and portraits of the models, known as angels, just like that of Victoria secret. She even included a bit of the African culture into her themes which made the event more creative. The performers of the night were Tiwa Savage, Davido, Wizkid, Timi Dakolo who happens to be my favourite performer of the night.Natasha and I had both sat down to arrange how everything will be for the night. From the stage settings to the last thing, I really hope everything go as planned tonight.

The event started at exactly 1:56 with the angels walk down the stage with their wings, clothes and accessory arranged and designed by Nash. I looked at the other side of the stage to see Pearl and Peach smiling and grinning from ear and ear and I could see they were enjoying the show

. After most of the performers have put in their best and the models had enjoyed themselves, the show finally came to an end when Natasha was introduced to the audiences.

Everyone clapped and applauded her as she walked down the stage waving and smiling at the crowd. It was obvious that my Natasha was happy and I'm glad and so proud of her. She took the mic as she started to address the cloud.

“I want to thank each and everyone of you who came out here tonight to celebrate me. I'm really grateful for the love and support I received from you all. It's is overwhelming. I left London for Nigeria because I have a feeling you guys would very much give me a name in the fashion industry. And I'm very glad today that I made that decision, it is one of the best decisions I've made in my entire life. Thank you Nigeria.”

And when I thought the speech actually ended, Nash asked for a chair to be placed at the centre of the stage, she was going to entertain questions from the attendees.

You don't do that here in this country, Nash. Not even anywhere in the world. It's going to be dangerous, people ask nasty questions. I hope this work out well.

“Are you single or married?” One of the attendees asked and I heaved a sign of relief.

“I'm proudly single and not searching” she said smiling

“Because you have a Mr right?” Another one questioned her

“Maybe, you can say that” I put it at the back of my mind to ask her who the Mr right was once we got home.

I saw Peach, Pearl's best friend raising her hand to ask a question and Nash gave her the audience as the mic was passed to her.

“Okay.., so you just admitted not to have a boyfriend and there's a Mr right, am I correct?” She inquired. The whole centre was dead silent as we all anticipated what was going to happen next.

“I said I have a boyfriend and I'm not yet married” she replied trying to keep her cool while smiling

“I would have thought what I heard about you was wrong. Sort of, I heard through the grapevine that you live with a married couple and the husband introduced you to the wife as the girlfriend. My question now is, can't you wait for them to divorce first before you intrude into their life?. It's really annoying,I mean ,the society that we are today. You just wake up one day and then decides to break a home,a home that was supposed to be built in love and trust. Stop being a disgrace to womanhood” She dropped the bomb as I froze in my seat. I was not expecting that and so also was Natasha. The attendees has started mumuring to themselves while some were already making their way out of the hall. I looked over to where Peach and Pearl were seating only to discover that they had disappeared from the hall. This was a planned job and Pearl will so regret this.

I gathered my stuff and made my way home with Natasha after the show ended in a disaster. If only Natasha had controlled herself and not ask for any questions.

Natasha stormed upstairs immediately we entered the house, banging very hard on Pearl’s door. I saw her Hands fly straight to Pearl's face before I could stop her. She just slspied my wife and I didn't do anything to stop her.

“You witch!, is it not enough that you damaged Greg's life by marrying him. Must you go after my career?” She said screaming at Pearl

“What are you talking about?” she inquired and it was clear that she was trying to feign ignorance.

“What you best friend did, pearl. That wasn't nice” I said trying to intervene

“What was wrong with what she did?, did she lie about anything?. And you Nash, don't you dare raise your hand to hit me again cos I swear to God if you try it one more time,, I'll destroy you more than you've already been destroyed. This isn't high school or college, Nash. This time, it's my turn to win” she slammed her room door in front of our eyes. Her eyes had fire in them.
