Happy Never After - Episode 8

 

“Babe, I went to the prison, Fabian’s body was not found. Something is so wrong!”

At first, she was quiet, then she hissed. “It seems you all are really crazy. You told me he was dead and now, his body has not been found. Faith, when are you going to accept that I am finally married and that Fabian was nothing but a loser?”

“I cannot believe you are talking like this. Do you think I care about Daniel? I just want to make sure Fabian is alright..”

“Then go find him and keep me out of it! Do not call my number again!”

After this, she ended the call and threw the phone on the bed.

“That was Faith, right?” asked Daniel behind her.

She turned around so quickly and reluctantly nodded.

HE smiled and walked closer to her, massaging her shoulders . “What problem does she have with me this time?”

She sighed. “She wants me to come home.”

He chuckled. “Come home? When it is just the second day of your honeymoon? I really do not understand what issue that friend of yours has with me.”

“It’s okay darling,” she replied, forgetting her tea. “Let’s just go to bed.”

FLASHBACK

. She was staring down at her, holding her travelling bag.

Alicia frowned. “You are back so soon?” she yawned and stretched. “Why are you looking at me like that?” she asked, not standing up.

“Hi, Fabian,” said Faith to someone beside her and that was when Alicia turned around sharply and realized she was lying nakedly on the bed with Fabian who was just rushing into his trousers. She had never felt so humiliated. What the hell was he still doing there? She flung both her arms across her chest, hiding her face from Alicia.

“Hi, Faith,” he said, wearing his shirt hurriedly.

“Yes, good to see you,” replied Faith, smiling stupidly. “Please, take your time,” she added, hiding her laughter.

Alicia searched for her cloths but Faith threw it to her.

“Here you are, and in case you are looking for your bra, it is right under the table, alongside your panties too…” she added, laughing. “Bye Fabian, hope to see you soon.”

The man said nothing but only smiled and left hurriedly.

Then all of a sudden, Faith burst into laughter before collapsing on the bed.

“Oh, my God! Did that just happen! You actually screwed Fabian! The guy you swore never to have anything to do with?”

Now, Alicia was totally embarrassed. “Look, it just happened. I was horny and he was sweaty and really sweet. It has been two years since I had one.”

“So, tell me, how was it?” Faith asked excitedly.

Alicia thought for a while before smiling. “Oh, Faith. I cannot believe we went three times! He was that good.”

Faith laughed aloud. “No wonder you were sleeping like a log of wood! You could have gone into your room! You didn’t even close the door! Anyone could have walked in!”

Alicia shrugged. “I know, we were just too busy,” she replied.

“So, are you both in a relationship now?” asked Faith.

Alicia stopped and looked at her. “No, we are not,” she said and stood up, picking things from the coutch.

“You are not?” asked Faith.

“No, we are not. I just cannot date him just because he gave me three orgasms. Look. I think I practically earn more than he does. And he is not my type anyway. We had fun that is where it ends. He is a doctor; I am sure he sleeps with all his patients. That is what they all do and…” she stopped as she heard something drop.

Both ladies were surprised to see Fabian in the room, looking at Alicia and looking really hurt.

“Sorry, I forgot my keys,” he said, picking up the keys and turning around.

Alicia couldn’t say anything anymore. She was mortified.

Faith shook her head. “I am certain that he heard everything and I am sure glad, you did. You are such a terrible person, Alicia. You do not deserve a man like him. I hope those orgasms he gave you last you for a long time because you are not getting another. You do not deserve him.”

With this, Faith picked up her bag and left for her room….

Alicia bit her lips, she felt awful, the only thing she could do was to sink into her couch and regret everything she just said…

PRESENT DAY

Alicia opened her eyes as she recounted everything that had happened. She couldn’t sleep. She was tired of thinking about Fabian all day. Faith had purposely done this to her. She inhaled and stood up, Daniel was still sleeping. Probably she should go make that tea she wanted.

Some minutes later, she was stirring her tea and was about to put out the light of the kitchen when her eyes caught something on the wall. At first, she didn’t know what it was. It was like the wall was uneven and a part was pulled out than the rest. She pushed it back but it shifted again.

Later, she put down her cup and began to touch every part of the wall to see what was going on, without knowing how, there was an opening in the wall, like a secret door, leading to a dark alley.

Her mind did a double flip as she discovered this. She found another switch beside the one in the kitchen, she clicked on it and the place brightened up.

Unlike what she had expected to find in a secret coven or whatever this was, the place well arranged. Many things were covered in boxes on tables.

There was a lounging chair and a reading table as well. She walked to the table and sat on the chair. Why would they cover up a room like this? She thought.  Later she stood up, walking around the room. Every box was pushed to the wall, making the middle wide and free. She wondered what she would find if she was to start opening those boxes one after the other. Whoever Hannah was, really had a lot of things still kept here.

While she went through, she heard something talk. She was so startled but then realized, she could pick some words.

“Are you there? Come in. Hello.”

It was coming from the table.

There person at the other inhaled deeply. “Hannah, why did you pretend as if you didn’t see me? My boy told me he saw you and your husband going in, he led me to your house! Thought you said you would never come back!”

“Whoever you are, I am not Hannah. You should have seen that?”

“Seen what? Have you forgotten how I got blind, because of you, now you are mocking me…?”

Now, Alicia was confused…

“I didn’t know you are blind. Please, I am Alicia and I just got married to him. He told me Hannah used to live here and that she is gone…”

“If you are not Hannah, then you are in a lot of trouble. Get out while you still can! Over and out.”

The red light went off and she could tell whoever it was had ended the call….she couldn't understand but she was certain that it was the woman who had come to the house before. She said her boy had brought her and she was blind....she sighed. Something was wrong...
