Genesis - Episode 4
The new year 2016 had begun on a good note. Ada chose to put Luke behind her and just get on with her life. Sixteen days after the first,she and Emmanuel met at a mutual friend's birthday party. He was seated at a table with his friends and invited her to join them,but she declined his invitation.
After seating on her own for a while,Emma walked up to her and sat right next to her. 'So,you are here,on your own',he said . 'Well,that is quite obvious',Ada responded. 'I know. Can we go talk outside,the music here is so loud' 'Okay'. They walked out side by side and sat down on a stair in front of a bar next to the open place where the party was going on. They sat in comfortable silence for a while before he spoke. 'I don't know how else to convince you to be with me'. 'Hahaha. Well,you don't have to convince me about anything',she replied. 'Are you sure,because you seem to take a lot of time thinking',he said with utmost caution,which made Ada laugh really hard. 'Okay,I understand. Just to set a few ground rules. If I am going to do "this" with you,I beg you,please respect me. I don't want to beg for your attention,at all. Also,I do not like men who are violent,and I do not really know you that much. So please,if I annoy you one day,do not slap me',she rushed before her courage ran out.
Emma sat thinking for about ten seconds and said,'Are you saying yes right now,because if you are,then I think I am going to burst with happiness'

. 'I am saying "okay" to your proposal. You can call it a "yes". All I know is I'm in'. Emma looked at her and gave her a slow smile. He took her hands and said,'I am satisfied with an "okay". I will respect you,give you attention,and surely will not slap you'. At this,they both laughed and when the laughter died down,they looked at each other and then the message passed,and they shared a quick hug that signed their beginning. Ada and Emma carried on like new couples always do. Their text routine multiplied,and when she found herself less busy,she would always go through their text messages,right from when he wished her a happy birthday the previous year. To her,it signaled a story of transition. She was basking in her new found happiness when,two weeks later,Luke appeared from nowhere. It was one of those less busy days when she got a call from Luke. At first,she considered rejecting the call. But then he kept calling,she finally picked up. 'I am at your hostel. Downstairs. Come down,I am waiting for you',he said and disconnected the call before she had the chance to say the first 'hello'. She thought about not going down for a few seconds,but her curiosity won,and she quickly changed into a comfortable dress and ran down the stairs.
