Genesis - Episode 1
She laid inbed and kept staring at the top of her bunk. She was thinking,and crying all at once. Ada's mind was in a big mess. 'But I want him,I really do',she thought to herself. But then this is life. We never seem to get what we want. She met Luke while in her third year in the university. One thing had lead to the other,she 'fell' in love and the realization that they could not be together make her feel the way Kambili felt when she realized that she couldn't be with Fr Amadi. The pains of loving when it's almost absolutely pointless . Luke was her friend's ex,so because of the 'sister code',she couldn't date him. Now,he was seeing some other girl,and she just was not able to bear the frustration. She only prayed for at least a little of his attention now. And his attention she did get,even though it cost her more pain and suffering. Monday morning. All Ada had on her mind was her case presentation for land law. She was reading the case when her phone rang. One look at the caller I.D. and a she felt a shiver in her spine. 'Hello',she said after picking up. 'Hey,what's up baby,hope you're good. I have missed you', Luke said with that voice that always melted Ada like hot chocolate. 'I'm fine

. How are you,I miss you. I miss you more',she replied,and continued; 'I wanted to come by during the weekend,but...' 'But you thought Chacha was at my place',he said. Chacha happened to be his girlfriend at the time. 'Yes,I thought so. I just don't understand why you jumped into a relationship with her right after your break up with my friend'. 'Ada,I am a lonely man. You honestly do not expect me to stay all alone'. 'Listen to yourself! You are lonely. LONELY!! God,can you not stay on your own for a month!',she flared,angered by his response. 'Come on,Ada,really. You know me. Know what,it is too early to talk much right now,so I'd leave you to go off to school,and see you in the evening. I will drive down to your hostel,so you don't have to worry about coming to my place'. 'Whatever',Ada said and disconnected the call,regretting same almost immediately. The fact that Luke was seeing some the girl really made her angry and sad at the same time,and his talk about being lonely was total nonsense to her. 'Rubbish',she hissed,and went back to her case study.
