Ada hopped down the stairs,walked out of her hostel and spotted Luke's car. She walked to it,opened the passenger door,got in,slammed the door,folded her arms and stared straight ahead. 'Hey baby',Luke said and kissed her on her cheek. Seeing she was not moved by his action,he continued 'Ada now,I still don't understand why you are angry with me'. 'Oh,really . You don't know. You breached our agreement and started seeing Chacha. What happened to keeping your own side of the agreement and staying single for a little while',she retorted. Luke had been dating her friend, Zinny. In truth,all the while Luke and Zinny were together,she never really loved him. Ada only got dragged into the picture when Zinny pleaded with her to cover her back whenever she was out with other guys and Luke came around unannounced. Along the line,Ada started feeling pity for Luke,and as they say,pity is akin to love. One night,Luke had come for Zinny,and as was usual most of the time,she was not around. Ada had gone down to pitch an excuse for her friend,and Luke,in anger said to her 'Give me one reason why I should remain with Zinny. She's never available. Clearly she's over me. And you,Ada,know this'. 'I don't know anything', Ada defended

. Even though at the time,she already loved him,she never for once suggested he break up with her. Instead,she'd always say 'You should keep being with her because you love her,and the memories you both share should keep you going'. Finally,they both broke up. Luke asked Ada to be his partner. At first she said yes,but after weeks of sneaking,they both came to the agreement that they would both stay single and Luke would just wait. Today however,Luke had Chacha,which angered Ada. 'You say you are lonely. That's the lamest excuse I have ever heard',Ada said. Pretending to be contrite,Luke said 'I am sorry',and continued,'I love you. Chacha means nothing. She's just company for me while I wait for you to want me enough to not mind what Zinny may say,or do. In fact,let's go to a more convenient place to talk,I bet you are probably tired of being cooped up in this car. I am tired already'. 'Okay',Ada agreed,and he started the engine and drove off to his house. On getting there, they had barely gotten through the door when Luke backed her against the wall and kissed her with reckless abandon. She tried to fight off,but her love for him won,and she just went on ahead with him to the point of no escape.
