Safinah looked from left to right as she stood along the road. She hissed for the twentieth time ever since she stood there. And now, she regrets her decision for not taking the car out.

Well, let truth be told; She wanted to try her luck and see if she'll meet any rich guy who'll be head over hills in love with her. The past few weeks has been boring for her as she broke up with Alhaji Tukur Mai Naira (A wealthy man) .  It's not like she's not satisfied with what her dad has, but she needs to maintain her level as a big girl and show out her rich boyfriend(s) to her friends, that way... they'll respect her the more.

She looked at the wrist watch tied around her left hand. It's already 3:51pm, meaning she has been standing there for thirty two minutes without any car stopping by.

Just as she was about to call Nafisah to come pick her up, she spotted a keke napep (Tricycle) parking beside her.

What the actual f**k! This guy here doesn't expect her to climb on that thing right? - Or is he too drunk to think she'll step her foot in it?

"Oh Lord, I think this is another terrible day for me! Why do I have to meet you again? Today of all days!" the guy bellowed.

Safinah gave him a confused gaze. Who the heck is he?

"Excuse me, but do I know you?" Safinah asked him, screwing up her face

. He stinks, Goddammit!

"Aha!" He blurted, dramatically clapping his hands, "I never thought you'll talk to me because the last time we met you were mute. Hop in, it won't hurt to help you again miss" Mansur said, smiling.

Safinah looked at him in confusion. Is he a psycho? Is he in his right senses? He must be a mad person. She wondered.

"I'm sorry, but I think you've got the wrong person here mister. Do I know you?"

"So, you're pretending like you don't even know me because you see me with keke napep (Tricycle) right?" Mansur uttered, scrunching his brows.

Safinah hissed and started dialing on her phone. He's so stupid to think he can gain her attention with just a keke napep (Tricycle). She's not that cheap and she doesn't look like one.

"I was only trying to help and you're giving me attitude. You didn't even thank me the first day I saved your life and took you to the hospital. And last week when I saw you, you didn't even spare me a glance because you have a car. And today, I being a good samaritan is still willing to help, but you are still shunning me!"

Now, Safinah's face lit up. This was the guy who saved her sister's life three weeks back.

"Ohh... Hi. I'm sorry for being rude, but I'm not Sakinah. My name is Safinah. We look alike because we are triplets" Safinah explained.

Damn! how could he be this stupid.

"My bad!" he muttered, patting his forehead with his palm, "I'm so sorry miss. How is your sister doing?" He asked.

"She's fine Alhamdulillah. Forgive me for my rude behaviour please, I thought you were trying to... You know, Kinda gain my... my attention" She stuttered.

Mansur laughed "what! No way miss. I know my stand, and I don't take myself to places above me. Now, will you accept the ride?" He asked her again, smiling.

"Well, sure. Why not? Thank you" She replied while smiling before hopping in.

That was the first time Safinah rode in a keke napep (Tricycle).

"What! A keke napep (Tricycle)? You came back home in a keke napep? How? Why?" Nafisah asked, so shocked. Nafisah knows Safinah more than anybody in that house, and she knows quite well Safinah won't just climb a keke napep just like that.

"Quit it miss, Mansur drove me home" She answered.

"Mansur?" Nafisah asked raising one of her brows.

"Yes, the carpenter that saved Sakinah weeks back" She responded.

"How did you guys met?" Nafisah asked.

"Toh uwar gulma (Miss gossiper)! I don't know" Safinah replied Nafisah before sitting on the couch beside Sakinah who was busy reading "the 48 laws of power".

"Sis, how far? Mansur told me he saw you days back and you shunned him".

Sakinah looked up at her sister clearly confused "Who's Mansur?"

"The guy that saved you that day" Safinah answered.

"Oh!" Sakinah replied, trying to register what Safinah was saying, "that's his own problem. Spare me his talk please, as you can see I'm very busy now"

"Huh? you're no fun!" Safinah said, rolling her eyes. Just then, Habeeb appeared.

"Hello to you all, beautiful sisters. How are you all doing?" He asked before sitting beside Nafisah. Mama rabi, who has been watching the girls closely from the study table walked into the living room.

"Good afternoon Mama" He greeted her.

"Afternoon Habeeb" she replied sitting onto the armchair with her arms crossed around her chest.

"Good afternoon Yaya Habeeb" Both Safinah and Nafisah greeted him. But Sakinah neither looked up, nor greet him.

"Afternoon sisters, how are you all doing?" He asked with his eyes glued on Sakinah.

"Fine, where's my Pringles?" Safinah asked.

He turned to Safinah, "Ohh! I'm sorry, Sis. I actually forgot about it. Will get you one later, In Shaa Allah (If Allah Will)" He uttered, and then turned looking at Sakinah, "Good afternoon aunty Sakinah" he said. They all noticed the sarcasm he used.

Sakinah stood up, packed all her books and left the living room without uttering a word.

"What's wrong with her? Yaya Habeeb is there something between you two?" Nafisa puzzled.

"I don't know, and I can't point out the reason why she so much hates me. I mean... I love and care for you all, equally but Sakinah seems to appreciate it not"

'Stupid idiotic barbarian!' - Mama Rabi cursed under her breath. How will he know when he have already destroyed her life? I bet he'll know by the time Mama rabi is so done with him. "That's their own style of loving each other I guess" the elderly woman chimed in, smiling.

"What? No way! So all these while Yaya Habeeb is in love with kis kis?" Safinah said happily.

"No, Mama is joking actually, Sakinah is not my type like totally. So no, I am not interested in her please"

'What will I do with her when I've already gotten what I wanted from her? But it won't hurt if I taste her now that she's a grown up. I bet there'll be lot of difference' - He mused to himself, already imagining himself banging her.

"Hmm, she's not your type either. Even if you want her, I think I won't agree to that" Mama rabi said, smiling before standing up, "Girls, to your rooms now!" She ordered the girls.

They've already gotten used to it by now. Mama rabi never allowed them to sit alone with Habeeb, she's always there and when she's going, they got to go too even if they don't want to.

"Bye, Yaya Habeeb, don't forget my Pringles please!"

"Sure. I won't sis"

'Mama Rabi, you're really exceeding your boundary.  What the hell is wrong with you? Why do you hate me...? I'll surely deal with you, Mama rabi!' - He gulped with anger written all over his face.

             ***   ***   ***

"Aunty" Mama rabi called Hajiya Siyamah before sitting beside her.

Read " Today's World " by the same author ( Murjanatu Alkali )

. "Arrmm, I want to ask if it's okay that I start taking Sakinah to the hospital for therapy, she really needs it"

"Therapy? Why? Is there something I need to know?" Hajiya Siyamah uttered in puzzlement.

"Well, yeah. But I'm not sure about it, but when I'm sure of everything, In Shaa Allah (If God Will) I'll let you know"

"Thank you so much Rabi. You've been a motherly figure to my kids, and I have no words to use in thanking you. The kids are more closer to you, especially Sakinah. Sometimes I used to feel jealous, but then I realized that I'm not doing my job as a mother. Rabi, I have tuberculosis" Hajiya Siyamah said slowly.

Mama Rabi was beyond shocked. Tuber what? This can't be, no! It really can't be.

"I don't get you Yaya" She said, not wanting to believe her.

"You heard me right Rabi, I have tuberculosis. And it's already in its last stage"

"And you never told us? is Alhaji aware of it?"

"Yes, I told him yesterday"

"Subhannallah! (i.e expression of grief), Yaa rabb (Oh Lord), make things easy for us, please" Mama rabi said as she broke down into tears before hugging Hajiya Siyyamah tight.

Sakinah, who was eavesdropping, closed the door slowly and left. She has been trying so hard to hold back her tears. Right now, she has three things in her mind.

Is Mama rabi aware of what she is hiding?

Will her mom make it?

And lastly, How is she going to break down Habeeb and make him pay dearly? - Maybe he should die every single day like kween_munayah00 suggested.

She broke down as soon as she was in her room. Why do things keep happening to her? Why? Why?.
