Present day

Hannah:

"our little girl didn't die Jake" I say and envelop Jake in a hug. Hope

flare in my heart when he doesn't pull back. I can't help but think

that this is my chance of getting back into his life. I brush my lips

along his neck and i hear him suck in air. He pulls me away from him.

"what are you doing hannah?"

"i love you Jake. I missed you so much during all those time." I say

before i lock my lips to his. I feel him go stiff but i just press

myself into him more. The sound of a tray hitting the floor make me

pull away.

"what was that?"Jake ask and start walking towards the door.

"ma ma" I hear daisy say and Jake turns back to her.

"I'll go check what the commotion is about. You can stay here with

her" i tell him and he nod.

I walk out of the room and see a nurse and a woman gathering hospital

supplies from the floor. They probably bumped into each other. I am

about to go back inside when the woman lift her head up. Our eyes lock

and i see panic in hers. She quickly stand up.

"Am sorry for bumping into you" she apologize to the nurse and that's

when recognition hit

. She is the woman with Jake that evening at the

eatery. The woman who was able to calm Jake down. I knew that Jake had

feelings for her from the way he looked at her and the way they were

laughing and interacting before they saw me. She must have seen me

kissing Jake. We need to get acquainted with each other.

"Excuse me" I say and start walking toward her but she just start

walking away quickly.

"Hey, wait" I increase my pace and follow behind her. I finally catch

up to her when a nurse stop her to give her an envelope. I jog to her

side and stretch my hand to her.

"Hi, am Hannah" I say and smile

"Hi." she say wearily and take my hand.

"Thank God i saw you. I wanted to thank you for the other day. Can we

get a drink at the coffee shop outside?" I ask sweetly

"Am really sorry but i have to go." She says

"Please. I have been wanting to thank you for that day. Let me treat

you to a cup of coffee. Please"

"Okay, fine" she agrees and i grin.

"Thanks. Come on, lets go" I lock my arm in hers and pull her towards

the hospital's exit.

"Thanks for coming with me" i say as soon as the waiter serves our

coffee and leave us.

"It would be rude to refuse a thank you right?" She ask.

"Still, thanks for coming and for coming to my rescue the other night.

My jakey has always have a temper" I say and notice the way she keeps

biting her lips.

"He told you he was going to marry me right?" I ask and she shake her head no.

"Well we were but his father got between us. Jake was angry at me for

leaving him but when i told him his father was behind it, he wanted us

to get back together. I am so happy. Oh, sorry if am blabbing when we

don't know each other that well but i am just so happy to get back

together with Jake. Our daughter's life would be happier with her

father in it. Dont you think so?"i look at her face and know that i

have stun her with this.

"Your daugh-ter?"she stammer and i nod.

"I just told Jake about her and he says he can't wait to give her a

family" I continue.

"Am sorry but i have to leave"and says and stand up. I stand with her

and motion with my hand for her to lead the way. When we get out of

the cafe, i grab her hand.

"Jake told me about your little fling and i hope you see that this is

stronger than that little crush you have on him." I tell her and she

gasp.

"little fling?"

"yea. Please dont get between us. I think Jake feels pity towards you

and he may try to lead you on because of that. But i beg you, think

about my little girl who just had an accident. She needs her father.

Okay?"i ask and she nod.

"oh thank you so much"i say and hug her. If this does not put an end

to whatever she has with Jake, I'll know that she doesn't have any

pride or conscience. I release her and she stagger away. Good

riddance. I lost Jake once and i am not losing him a second time.

"Hannah" I hear my mother call from behind me and i turn.

"Mom, what are you doing here? Is Jake still with daisy?" i ask her

"Yea. He was singing to her when i left them."she answer and i smile

"he's good with her" i tell her and she nod.

"Hannah, i know everything you have been through has been because of

having a worthless mother like me. I know you deserve to be happy but

this isn't right"

"What isn't right mother?"

"Your lying to that young lady about getting back with Jake. I was in

the cafe when you walked in and i overhead everything you told her."

"Jake and i would be getting back together. It is the truth. I just

have to make him love me again. I am the mother of his baby!" i fire at

her

"That doesn't give you the right to mess with people's lives" she says

and i scoff.

"Its funny that you are the one saying this. Didn't you mess with

people's life too? All those men you sold your body to, didn't they

have a family you were hurting?! Stop being a hypocrite mother. I am

just a sl*t like my mother" I scream in her face the same time as her

palm connect with my cheek. I grab my stinging cheek and glare at her.

"Mind what you say. I am still your mother!" she yell at me.

"My mother? When were you ever my mother? I was always the mother in

this relationship. Cleaning you up everytime you got drunk or high!

The reason i lost him was because i was trying to pay off your debt to

that monster who ruined my life!" I sob out and run off.

"Hannah! Hannah!" My mom yell as she run after me. Tears blind me as i

run away from her. If i could just cross the road to the other side of

the street, i would be able escape talking to her. I walk into the

road as i wipe tears from my face. I am already at the other side of

the road when i yell people screaming.

"Hannah! Get out of the way!" i hear my mom yell and i turn back to see

a car heading directly towards me. I feel like a rabbit caught in

headlight as my bones freeze. I turn back to my mom who is running

towards me. What is she doing? Everything else happen in slow motion

as my mom shove me out of the way and the car brush her off the way

before crashing with a store by the side of the road.

"Mom!"I yell and rush to her bloodied body.

"Lu-scious W-as dri-ving th-at car"she splutter.There is so much blood

i cant concentrate on what's she is saying.

"Luscious" she says again before her words register. I turn to back to

see The car reverse and zoom off. Luscious. The bastard wants me dead.

"Lusc-ious" my mom spit out again and my attention comes back to her.

"Mom stop talking.

. Can someone call an ambulance!" I yell at our spectators.

"Its on its way. I already called"a fat woman behind me says.

"You hear that mom? Its almost here. You would be fine. Her right hand

grab my left hand and she smile wanely. Her eyes are glazed over and

her hands are cold.

"A-m sorry Hann-ah. I brought you in-to this dir-t- dirty world. Be

ha-ppy" she says before her hand go limp.

"Mom? Mom! Don't fall asleep. Mom!"I yell. I keep shaking her until

the ambulance arrive and the paramedics pry me away from her. I watch

numbly as she is taken into the ambulance.

"Are you coming with us to the hospital?" One of the paramedics ask but

I shake My head. I need to pay a visit to that bastard.
