Cleo was tired of waiting. She just couldn't phantom why rich famous people find it difficult to keep to time. She's been sitting here for three hours, and all his secretary has been doing is eat and tap on the keyboard as though she was busy...
Cleo stood and walked to the secretary's table.
"Are you sure Mr. Bernard knows I am here?" Cleo asked
"Ma, what else do you want me to do? I told you he is in a meeting . If you are tired of waiting, go and return letter. Ah ah!"

Cleo's lower jaw dropped. She shook her head and returned to a sit. She decided to call her secretary, probably she might have Bernard's contact.
"Hi, do you have Bernard's phone number in the data base?"
"Yes ma" Natalie replied.
"Send it to me."
"Okay ma."
"Are you sure I have an appointment with this man?" Cleo asked.
"Yes ma."
"Fine."

Cleo's phone beeped, Natalie has always been a life saver. Cleo decided to send a message to Bernard since he was at a meeting.
Cleo was engrossed playing "candy crush" when she heard her name.

. Sir, will you see you know. The door at the extreme on your left." Said the secretary.
"Thank you." She said.

Cleo picked her bag and headed for the office.
"Good morning sir."
"Good morning. What were you doing sitting outside for three hours?" Bernard asked
"I was told you were in a meeting."
"Am sorry about that. My secretary is just funny. She's family."
"It's fine sir."
Bernard had barely started telling Cleo what he wanted for the anniversary when her phone rang. She decided to put the phone on vibration and the call kept coming all the same.
 "Take your call." Bernard said.
"I'd take it later." Cleo replied.
"Okay. So the hall, should not be too colourful, champagne gold and.."
Cleo's phone buzzed for the umpteenth time.
"I am sorry sir."
"I think you should take your call."
"It's a message sir."
"Then you should read it."
Cleo's eyes became misty.
"What's the matter?" Bernard asked.
"My dad..he's sick" Cleo said with shaky voice.
"We'd see on Sunday 1:30pm. You go take care of your dad."
"Thank you."

Cleo's chauffeur drove hastily to her family house.  That mansion of family drama!  Her dad was one rich man, she and her siblings grew up in money, with lots of nannies and house keepers. It was Ada who incautiously pushed her to being independent of her father. Left to Mr. Ike, she'd be working in his company, but no, she wanted to do what gives her joy. 

The driver honked, the gateman wasn't responding, he ran to the gate and banged the gate. As soon as the car parked in the garage, Cleo rushed to the sitting room, there she met her dad reading the papers.

"Cleo! What brings you home? Come give daddy a hug." Her dad said.
"Wait! Are you not supposed to be sick?" Cleo asked with confusion visible on her face.
"No. Wait! Why should I be sick?" Mr. Ike asked surprised
"But I got a message after several calls from your line. Look, this is the message" Cleo said handing the phone to her dad.
"Hehehehe! Your mum! Have a sit Cleo."
Cleo sat down wondering what really happened.
"Bisi, get Cleo a glass of orange juice." Mr. Ike said to the house keeper.
"Daddy, how did you recover so soon? Cleo asked
" I was never sick. Your mum said I should ask you to come home.

. So I called. I asked her what I should to tell you cause you obviously don't like this place and won't rush down here for nothing. She said I should tell you I am dying. I told her I'd say she is the one dying and she refused. So, I left my phone in the bedroom and headed for my study. And I am sure that was when she sent you a message that I was having a cardiac arrest."
"Dad! You don't have to go extra miles to get me home, you could just call and...."
"Cleo, you won't come. The last time we discussed this, you said the house is too big and makes you feel insignificant. Your mum is in her room, go meet her." Mr. Ike said dismissively.
"Mum!" Cleo shouted running up the stairs. Her mum had gone too far. She better have a good reason for this drama.
