When A Man Wants - Episode 29

 

NARRATORS  POV

Vincent(Big Fred) was scribbling  some things down in a paper, Lisa was furious and panicking at the same time, Anika was sobbing while pacing, Doctor Randy spoke to them at the same time.

“Look. I have no idea he was going to do this. He never said anything to me . I believed he was at the liberty to take his own son out to wherever….do you have any idea where he could have taken him to?” He was facing Anika.

She held a hand to her forehead, trying to think….

“What does he want with my father?” Lisa asked no one in particular.

“He wants to use him as a leverage.” Vincent replied. He was forcing himself to talk, he was not strong enough. “ He said it in the letter, he wanted to keep your father to make sure I sign the documents he left behind. These documents bind me by law that I have relinquished all my art works to him.  You know he never expected that I would still be alive. He is afraid incase I go to the public. Even if I try to take him to court, with this document, there won’t be any case since it is written here that I have sold it to him.”

“But at what price?” Lisa asked, confused.

“Her.” Vincent replied, pointing at Anika. “She is the price, he is willing to let his wife come back to me but he is taking Freddie.”

. “So he is giving back the wife he took from you after killing you to pay for the arts that he stole from you, while taking your son?”

Vincent nodded.

“What do we do Vince?” Lisa asked again. “Nothing must happen to my father.”

Vince sighed. He was folding the paper in his hand and quickly held on to Lisa to steady himself.

“Are you okay?” The other three asked in unison.

Vincent squinted and slowly opened his eyes. “I feel dizzy.” He replied.

“You are not strong enough for all this.” Doctor replied. “Let us call the police.”

Vince sat down slowly. “No! No police.” He held a hand to his stomach, wincing in pain. “No! No police. If we call the police, he will kill your father Lisa. I need to sign these papers and give to him. It is better for both of them to be alive; my life work is a small price to pay for their lives. I just signed now. Now, we need the address he just gave to us. I and Lisa will go meet him there without the police.”

“This is risky! What if he tries to kill you again?” Anika asked.

“Well, let’s just hope he doesn’t.”

“You can’t go Vincent. You are still too weak. Just sign the documents, give Lisa to give him then you can go home and relax okay?”

“What about your son?” Doctor asked.

“He will not try to kill him. He loves him too much.” Vincent replied.

“Fred… I do not like this plan.” Anika objected but Vincent only replied with a wink.

“How many guards does he have?” Vince asked.

“Like four at home and five he takes everywhere.” ANika replied.

“Wow!” Vincent grimaced.

 “So what’s the plan?” Lisa asked.

“We wait.” Vincent replied. “He will call us.”

Just then the phone in the room which no one had even noticed began to ring.

There were two cars waiting by the airport. Few people were walking by. in one of the cars sat Tommy, a guard and Freddie. Tommy smiled as he watched the whole scene from his tab.

Vincent would not be coming here, only the lady would be. He wondered where ANika would be standing in all these. That bitch that he thought could actually love him. He so much desired to get his hands around her pretty neck and snap it.

 “Hi buddy, are you okay?” He asked his son.

Freddie was playing on his tab. He nodded but then again, looked up.

“Is mummy coming to join us in Hawaii?”

“Yes. She will, she has something to figure out now so, she will be joining us later.”

Freddie sighed and went back to his game. He was sitting at the front of the car while Tommy was sitting at the back seat , a guard was at the driver seat.

Something caught Freddi’s attention. He just received a new player request from Vincent. He smiled and accepted.

Tommy checked his time.

They will soon be here, once they get here, he kills them all and he leaves the country for good.

He dialed a number…”Son, can you put the earphone in your ears please? Daddy need to say some important secret stuff.” He said to Freddie who had a headphone around his neck which he attached firmly to his ears obediently, without looking away from his tab.

“John and Jango….are you close to that bastard’s house…Good, okay. Kaki and Bull can handle the lady that will be coming. Once I get the document and you release the father just shoot both of them as they  embrace or whatever. Before then, I want you to clear this area. I do not want any soul to see what is about to happen.”

 Then he dropped the phone on the seat and opened the door.

Some minutes later… a car drove into the area and packed farther away from the two cars that were already there.

“Wait in the car Freddie.” Then he climbed down from the car. Walking to meet the lady that was approaching him.

Lisa walked confidently  towards Tommy and his two goons that came out of the other car and now standing  beside him, even though she was scared to death. She had the written documents in one hand and a lighter in the other. She was the only one.

“Well, well, well, look at you. So Vincent is such a coward to allow a woman do a man’s job. Shame!”

Lisa said nothing. She stopped as she reached him mid-way.

“I’m cool with it. It’s not as much shame as being a sociopath and a desperate son of a evil bitch who will condescend so low because of lack of talents and gifts to feed off other peoples sweats!”

Tommy flinched at those hurtful words but he smiled.

“Awesome. You are actually right. What do I say? It’s fun for me. I mean, I don’t have the artistic talent, fine, I steal all those works and kill anyone that wants to be a threat! but I feel sorry for you though.”

“Really? Why?”

“Well, because, you love that idiot and he still chsose his old lady to repay everything to did for him. He still didn’t choose you! How heartbroken you must be.”

Lisa smiled. “Well. What doesn’t kills us will make us stronger yea?”

“Now here you are, doing his bidding all over again!” He spat. “Pathetic! You are such a fine lady.”

“Enough of that! I want my father now!” She demanded, holding the document high  in one hand and the lighter in the other hand.

“Easy baby.” Tommy said before signaling to the two guards. One of them walked away to the second car. Opened the car boot and pulled Joe out of it. His lips was plastered up and his hands were tied behind him. 

The guard pulled him recklessly towards Tommy who nodded again.

“So, you come closer, you give me the document, your father goes with you.”

“So that you can kill us both right? No way! .” Lisa said.

“This bitch is wasting my time.”Tommy said angrily and quietly to the guards. Then he pulled out a gun at her while Lisa struck the lighter, burning the bottom of the letter,….

“Okay! Please put out that fire okay. No guns.” Tommy quickly said angrily and threw down his gun, then nodded to the guards to do the same.

“We will do it your way.” He said.

“Okay. Let my father walk towards me safely, loosen his hands and his mouth. Once he is safely in his car, I will throw the letter at you!”

“No problem, release him. Just know that if you do anything stupid, you are both dead.”

Lisa nodded.

Joe was released and he was walking towards his daughter. He was scared to death as he knew they could shoot him any moment.

Lisa held her breath. Her heart beating rapidly as her father came closer…until he finally got to her.

“Get inside the car father….”

“Are you sure Lisa”

“Please hurry.” She said.

“So, what about your own end of the bargain?” Tommy asked.

“Sure.” Lisa replied. She walked closer to them, few feet away, dropped the letter and was walking backwardly to her car.

Tommy laughed.

“Shoot that idiot and her father!” He said to the guards after he had picked the letter on the floor.

“No no no!” Lisa shouted, now running as the guards picked up their guns and were about to shoot her but from nowhere..a car drove in between them, knocking the two guards off balance! There was so much dust in the air that for a second, only gunshots were heard followed by a dead silence!

“What the hell is that!”

Tommy demanded, trying to see what was going on. To his dismay, the two guards were knocked down with blood oozing out of their mouth.

Lisa was lying in the sand…but she stood up, realized she was unhurt and smiled when she sighted Vincent coming out of the car.

“Are you okay baby?” Vincent asked, slamming the door after him.

Lisa nodded, standing up and rushing to her father.

“Are you hurt Dad?”

“No dear.” Joe replied, stepping out and hugging her daughter.

Tommy began to make another call on his phone….

“Hello…John….Jango! What the hell went wrong?” He was surpised as he heard Anika’s voice instead. “You are going to rot in hell you bastard! ”

Out of shock, he threw the phone away and pointed his gun at Vincent and Lisa who were now the only ones around him.

“Well…well…Mr. Tommy the great Lyon of Africa.” Vincent started. Leaning against the car. “You are a mental case, you know that? Where were you going with my son? Oh…are you shocked about the way things turned out? Let me enlighten you. We double-crossed you!”

“Sure we did!” Another voice replied from the car. Someone in a black hoodie stepped out . He was holding a laptop in his hand.

“Hello Mr Lyon, it was a great honour to finally meet you! I am Shrek.” He said with a bow. “I am happy to announce that I was the one who discovered the tracker that you planted on your wife.”

Vincent smiled. “ You knew you couldn’t trust her when you got back to Nigeria. So you planted a bug on her. You saw everything she was doing. You realized she was getting close to Vincent so you started tracking her. The funny thing is, you were not the only one doing that…he was too. Lisa hired him. You knew about the picture that I drew even though you had a tracker on her , you still sent a guard to listen to her. You are really something! It was the tracker that enabled you to know where she hid the picture and you stole it but Freddie stole it back. I am so proud of  him.  While at the hospital, we called Shrek,in the absence of Anika, he found the tracker and instead of asking him to remove it, we acted foryou so we could mislead you. Your goons that you sent to my wife met Anika and Doctor Randy with the policemen waiting for them.  By the way, my son that is in that car gave me access to know everything that is happening here with the number of guards that you had with you…through his video game. So, game is up!”

Tommy was quiet.

“Did you capture the whole chat we had earlier?” Lisa asked Shrek.

“Oh, you mean the part where he was confessing to stealing art works and killing people?” Shrek asked.

“Yes.

“Sure..that wristwatch in your hand got everything so It was uploaded and it now has more than ten thousand views in the last ten minutes.”

“Good! That means he is ruined.” Vincent replied.

Tommy was shaking even though he had a gun in his hand pointed at Vincent.

“I still have the letter. I still have a gun and I am getting out of here.!” Tommy shouted. “Freddie! Come out!”

“Oh! He can’t hear you. He still has the headphone in his ears like you asked him to.”

“Damn it!” Tommy cursed. Now pointing the gun from one person to the other. “I still have the letter, you can’t touch me.”

Lisa coughed. “ Maybe you should open it.!”

“What do you mean?”

The three laughed at him but with the way he was waving the gun at them, they raised their free hands up. 

“Shut up!” He shouted at them and rushed his car. He realized his driver was already dead. He pulled him out and quickly got into the car, slamming the door after him. He still pointed the gun at them through the window….

“By the way Vincent…one thing you didn’t know…I was the one who killed your mother!” Then he rolled up the window and was beginning to drive away. He realized the tyres were not moving.

. Panicking he started the car again. Then he recalled that he left a child in the car. Freddie was not in the car, in the place he had last sat, there was a small knife on the seat. He realized….his tyres have been busted.

He bit his teeth as he saw Vincent approaching him…he wanted to open the car door but it wasn’t opening. Through the window, he realized Shrek was doing something on the laptop and looking at his car….he figured he was keeping him locked in….

The letter he had dropped on the seat was slightly opened with the way it was positioned, he could clearly see that there it was a blank paper. He had been greatly fooled! He shut his eyes  as Vincent emptied the gasoline on the car and Lisa lighted the car with the lighter……

“No one will see this right?” Vincent asked when they were finally in their car with little Freddie.

“Yep. His guards already chased everyone out and they locked down the CCTV by themselves….” Shrek replied.

“Have you heard from your….urm…Anika….?” Lisa asked . She was the one driving.

“Yes. It was just as she said. That bastard willed Freddie all his inheritance and he forgot to change it.”

“That is so cool. We need to cheer to that.” Lisa replied as she increased the speed of the car

I HOPE I TRIED WITH THE LITTLE ACTION SCENE...LOL....SO I GUESS WE CAN ALL RELAX NOW RIGHT? ONE MORE CHAPTER TO BRING THIS STORY HOME.....
