Unattainable Perfection - Episode 9

 

**** Alexandra stops in front of the guard, panting heavily from running like she had been tasked to go on a marathon.

The chief guard fumes at her, recognizing her immediately.

She sighs.

It was normal to be upset with her especially when she had violated rules.

For the second time today by coming to see Will twice in one day when he wasn't allowed any visitors.

She stares at the guard.

Well, maybe it was time to use her father's power to her advantage.

It was high time.

"Please just once. Just for five minutes . Two minutes will do."

She pleads... The guard stares at her long and hard before taking a deep breath.

"You know I'm doing this because I'm aware of who your father is right? Three minutes, just three minutes and you'd have to leave. Take it or leave it"

She nodded vigorously

"I'll take it please"

"Fine then. Come with me"

the chief guard beckons to her.

Draping the scarf lower to hide her scars, she follows him,offering a silent prayer to the heavens.

"William Wilson! Come with me!"

The chief guard shouts into cell number five as he unlocks the metal bars.

William groans in pain as he struggles to lift his battered self off the ground.

Standing on both feet, he winces clutching onto his abdomen.

Just because he had tried to stick to his own opinion, the Rock guy had beaten him black and blue.

No one dared to stop him.

He was feared amongst the inmates.

Will felt he didn't get beaten up for voicing out his opinion over some trivial issue.

Instead, he felt it was because he had accidentally stepped on his foot hours ago.

He sighs again, following the guard until he realised they were heading towards the visiting area.

Stepping in through the tiny door, he stops short in his tracks, his demeanor darkening instantly at the sight of the person he didn't ever want to see.

His jaw clenches and unclenches, desperately trying to keep his mouth shut because if he opened them, he was gonna say stuff to her he would never dream of saying to any woman.

But through his struggle, his nemesis seemed not to catch on to the obvious as she runs to him and throws her arms around his neck, planting her face into the crook of his neck.

For a split second,Will was spellbound.

He found himself completely and utterly dumfounded at the sudden touchy gesture.

He could smell the sweet strawberry scent in her hair as she hugged him.

The smell diffusing into his brain and doing away with the extreme anger he was feeling a moment ago.

"Oh Will!"

Alexa cries out.

William sucks in a breath as her name rolls smoothly off her tongue.

For some reason, he liked how she said his name.

His own name had never sounded so endearing like she just made it sound.

F*ck Will! You're supposed to be mad.

You're supposed to be hating her for putting you in jail.

She's a liar, a backstabber.

A b*tch! His subconscious mind chided him.and for the first time, Will blinked back to reality shaking away the electric buzzing In his system due to Alexa's touch.

Finding the courage, he lifts his hand and pushes her away.

"Get the f*ck away from me!"

He thunders.

"W...William.. I.."

"Why the f*ck are you here again? For the second time? Didn't I make it clear I didn't wanna see your disgusting face ever?!"

He screams and Alexa's eyes widen with unshed tears as his words pierced her like a dagger.

But he couldn't care less.

She was a good actress.

"I said why the f*ck did you return?!"

 Alexa flinches at the deadly tone of his voice.

She was cut of by a rather humorless laughter from Will.

"Good news? You must be out of your senses. Why don't you go share the news with your maidservants. Oh wait,why don't you go to any TV station of your choice to broadcast it?"

"Will. It hurts when you speak that way to me. I.. I know I failed you and I was late in...William.. I.. If you'll met me finish.. I just.."

"Leave!"

Alexa's head shoots up.

"What?"

"I said leave! F*cking leave Alexandra Wallace before I lose my temper. Trust me you're treading on dangerous grounds right now"

he sneers.

Such audacity she had to come share some stupid good news with him.

"Will... Please"

"Leave! Hell! F*cking leave woman! The sight of your face alone makes me wanna puke! Can't you see you're scaring everyone with your horrible face?! Do you ever look at your face in the mirror?"

He shouts and Alexa gasps.

A lone tear escapes her eyes as she covers her face with the scarf that had fallen off when she hugged him.

Two weeks ago, he had told her how her scars were only a sign of the past and nothing more.

He had told her she was pretty but today, even he was mocking her face.

Even he was insulting her looks.

How ironic.

Alexa chokes on her tears when she spots a few of the guards staring at her intently.. She knew there and then they were looking at her disfigured face.

Lowering her head, she runs out of there as quick as her legs could carry her.

Shame washing over her.

Her self esteem dropping lower that it already had.

William stood transfixed to the ground as he watched her run out crying.

He knew he should never have said those things.

Especially use her scars against her.

It was immature of him but still, he wanted to do something, say something, anything, just to hurt her.

Just to make her feel what verbal abuse could do to a person.

He knew that even after he was released from jail, he would be known as the ex convict who tried to r*pe a wealthy man's daughter.

And that was enough to cause him shame.

He sighs,recalling how the hurt flashed in her eyes coupled by tears.. He was beginning to feel guilty.

It was a low blow from him but... Don't feel guilty Will.

She's the reason you're behind bars today.

She's the reason you won't be able to further your education for another whole year. It's all her fault! Not yours! His mind prick's him and he shakes his head.

Yes, he agreed.

He shouldn't feel guilty.

At all.

She deserved it.

Pushing back every ounce of guilty feelings, William turns and heads back into the cell.

Alice was seated at the edge of the bed, watching the doctor she had called over treating her husband. It had been an hour since Henry had drank the juice she gave him. And after bleeding from both nose and mouth, he had fallen unconscious. Which explains why the doctor was currently checking up on him. There was no way she was taking him to a hospital. The bastard didn't deserve that.

"So?"

Alice asks breaking the silence.

The doctor hangs his stethoscope around his neck, turning to face her.

"Well he's okay now. He'll be awake in a few hours"

"That's not what I wanted to hear doc and you know it"

Alice stares at him knowingly.

Catching on to what she meant, he reaches into his briefcase and takes out a tiny bottle.

"Take this. This medicine won't kill him. It'll only deteriorate his health further. There will be no major signs apart from some uneasiness and tiredness. This drug will infiltrate his system and destroy his immune system little by little until his body can't take it anymore and he'll finally die. Just mix one drop of the medicine into his juice or food and serve it to him. That's if you want a really slow reaction. You can increase the dosage depending on how fast you want it. If this drug gets into the wrong hands,it'll elicit really grave consequences."

the doctor explains and Alice grins satisfactorily.

Perfect.

Nodding, she pulls out a written cheque and hands it to the doctor.

"Your payment.

the doctor pushes the cheque into his pocket and walks out.

When he was out of sight, Alice steps out of the room and makes her way towards the kitchen.

She was going to give him more juice when he regained consciousness.

She will tell him, he had bled from his nose due to some.. Well.. She'll come up with a sickness later.

For now... It was better to start dying now, right? Laughing to herself, she opens the fridge and pulls out a jug containing half filled pineapple juice.

Grabbing a glass, she fills the glass with some juice and then mixes a drop of the medicine the doctor had given her.

But then she frowns. One drop want enough. So she squeezed three more drops and mixes it.

"Now that's more like it"

she smirks.

Just when she was about to take the glass upstairs, the doorbell rang.

Frowning, she began to wonder who it was.

Oh! Maybe it was the lawyer she had heard Henry speaking to earlier.

She had to stop him from meeting Henry.

She rushes out to meet him.

The twins sat on the couch bored out of their mind from playing so many video games.

"I'm so bored!"

Marcus whines to his twin who nods in agreement.

"Let's go out then"

Fraser suggested.

"Do you think mom will mind?"

"Oh forget it! We're sixteen not ten. Come on Marcus."

Fraser tugs his brother's arm.

"Okay okay. But we have to go through the back door if we don't want to be seen. Mom is talking to someone outside"

Marcus says and his brother clicks his tongue.

"Why didn't I think of that?"

"Because you're the dumb one"

Marcus rolls his eyes earning a glare from his brother which he dutifully ignores.

"I'll go get some water then we leave. I'm thirsty"

Fraser trudges into the kitchen in search of water.

But then when he spots the glass of pineapple juice, seated on the counter, he sighs. Juice will be so much better than water.

And so without another thought, Fraser grabs the glass and begins to gulp down the entire glass.
