The Twist - Episode 31
The single bed in the visitor's room reminded Mark how he ruthlessly handled Ruby the previous day.
The memory was fresh in his mind.
He shouldn't have done it.
The girl was his daughter's guardian for crying out loud.
His carelessness had landed him into unending troubles.
He thought of Nkiru his first and last love.
How she had slaved just to feed him, how she often agreed to whatever he said just for peace to reign, how she abo*ted their 2 months baby, when he reminded her he was broke and can't move into family life yet, her tears and mute character during the most difficult moments of their lives together, her skillful cooking and soft heart, her zeal and support to make sure he succeeded in his career.
He remembered the countless moments he cheated on her, how she often succumbed to his romantic tales and her total submission each time he touched her.
He sat on the only chair by the table and stared at the bed.
The picture of Ruby's sleeping position came into focus, then turns into Nkiru as she lay carelessly on the bed.
He saw himself moving slowly like a predator towards the sleeping figure.
Nkiru stirs, opens her eyes and smiles at him.
She shifts a little on the bed; creating space for him to come and lie beside her.
Her body was tempting, her smiling lips parted and ready to be kissed.
He walks towards her and lies beside her; his blood pumping furiously and his shaft throbbing to be freed from his temporary prison.
She peels off the short nightie gown, revealing the most sensual body that will forever remain imprinted in his lustful mind and looks into his eyes; her mouth descending slowly towards his.
He opens his mouth to welcome the kiss and suddenly returned back to reality.
The picture of Nkiru vanished like a wisp of smoke from his day dreaming.
Mark shook his head vigorously to clear his mind and sighed deeply.
He shouldn't have done it. He looked around at the luxury of the room, his tiny bedroom which he shared with Nkiru was no match to this but she still managed to make it homely.
This will forever haunt him and he desperately needs to settle with Nkiru, if not for one thing but to changed her lifestyle with his vast wealth.
He is now sitting on top of the money he so much craved for, he is currently the biggest boy in the coast.
No, He must find Nkiru, he did not care how much it will cost him to find her.
He must find her.

He picked up the pillow and lay on the tiled floor.
The bed terrifies him. He cannot bring himself to sleep on the bed. He lay on the floor trying to sleep; his mind tormented by his recent activities.
