Where is my money? I could hear a man's voice. I haven't got the money yet sir but I promise to pay soon. I could hear Lucy's shaky voice. I want my money now . It has been four years and you promised to clear the debt within two years. He said.
A.....a.....Am sorry sir but I promise to try hard this time round. I could hear her stammer. A shiver went through my body as I heard a hot slap followed by a sharp scream of Lucy's voice.
I could hear her begging for mercy with a shaky voice. I could hear my sister pleading and struggling as if she's being choked. My body froze as I had her scream in pain and her scream immediately ended as if someone was placing their hands on her mouth.
I could hear more voices in room but couldn't grasp what they were saying. I wanted to scream but my voice ended in my throat. I wanted to go and see what was happening as I heard patting and sighing but my legs betrayed me.
I have cleared half of my debt and if you don't complete it by next week I will come for the remaining I heard the man say in a hoarse voice and then I heard footsteps followed by silence and the sobbing of my sister.
I quickly ran and locked the door and then I looked at my sister. What I saw anyone will never wish it happens to any woman or girl

I sat down by her side and wept and before I knew it I was hugging her so tight and raining abusive words to whoever did this to her. She hasn't looked this pale before it was clear to me she had endured enough. I tried to ask her why this happened and what debt is she clearing but she couldn't tell. Just make sure you study hard . That's the only thing I beg of you. She said with a faint voice.
I can't forgive those monsters to what they have done to you for even if I die I will let my ghost haunt them. I said as I sat down on my bed.
That night I couldn't sleep at all for whenever I closed my eyes I heard Lucy's screams and I blamed myself for not doing anything.
Lucy woke me up to prepare for school as she prepared for work.

. I went to school but this time round more determined to do my best. All the way to school I was lost in my own thoughts remembering yesterday's incident. The conductor of the taxi tapped me on the shoulder and I snapped out of my thoughts as I had reached my destination.
At school a day couldn't go by with out remembering what happened to my sister. I couldn't stop blaming myself for not doing anything. Time went by and before I could know it the term( semester ) had come to an end .
I went back home since it was third term and towards the end of the year. I was happy next year I will be sitting for my UACE exams so as to enter university. I came home with a smile. I found the door open so I just entered. Oh my God what's this ! I exclaimed on seeing what was going on.
