Behind Closed Doors
I went to the market place later when I woke up to buy somethings I may need in the house. I bought some vegetables and as I was about to leave a heard a voice calling me and on looking behind I saw an elder woman. Good morning ma I said greeting her.
Are you not Margaret the last born of the late Mr and Mrs Lukwago? She said on top of her voice which made everyone to stop and look. Yes I am I answered calmly . Are you not ashamed of your self then? She shouted . Why are you not at school or are you pregnant? I felt like choking this woman but I maintained my calmness.
We all know your sister uses her body (prostitute ) in order to keep you in school are you girls not ashamed of yourselves? Tears were forming in my eyes and wondering what have I really done wrong to be embarrassed this much. Why can't people just mind their own business.
I slowly walked out of the market place and I could see people gossiping about me and shooting dangers at me. If only stares could kill I would be dead by now.
I went home and wept bitterly as her words re-echoed in my head. I brought out my history book and revised letting go of what just happened earlier today.
Lucy came back a bit earlier yesterday. She looked stressed from the mood written all over her face

I wanted to inquire why but she sounded so seriously and she looked tired. She gave me the money I needed before heading to bed.
I could have slept off if not for her tossing and turning in bed. It seemed she a lot on her mind but she wasn't ready to open up to me. I later yawned and dozed off. My sleep was later disturbed by a sudden bung at the door.
We quickly woke up and on looking on my watch it was 4:20am. Hide in the bathroom and don't do anything stupid. Lucy said rather ordered. Don't come out no matter what happens she warned as I entered into the bathroom.
She quickly opened the door and I could hear voices of men inside the room.
