Do everything quickly Maggie the visitors will be here soon, Lucy said. It was a Saturday in the afternoon when a car pulled over in our compound. Two men came out and Lucy welcomed them into the house.

One of the men looked to be in his late sixties and the other in his early thirties. I greeted them as Lucy served them. She had prepared bananas, meat and some soup . They introduced themselves but oh I don't even recall their names.

So we are here to let you know that your wedding will take place on Christmas eve said the older man looking at Lucy and later to the other man. At that moment I looked from Lucy to the men not knowing what was going on.

As you can see my son Mark just came back from the USA he said looking to the younger man.

What's this dad? The so called Mark groaned? You mean am going to marry that fleshless woman, he said pointing at Lucy. On top of being just bones she's a whore who sleeps with anyone just for some coins. I looked at this ugly arrogant son of a b**ch and tried my best not to lose my temper. Stand up you monkey faced b**ch , he said pointing at lucy.  She stood and she was ordered to turn around and she did without hesitation however I could see tears forming in her eyes.

Put that your shape less skeleton down he said.  He was a black skinned,fat and big headed man with a potbelly

. I could sense the effect of these hurtful words to her. 

Mr nobody or whatever your name is who has forced you to marry my sister. I blurted out and before I knew it I had rushed into the bedroom and came back with a mirror in my hands. Dad what's is she doing ? He screamed seeing me with a mirror. Look here sir I said handing him the mirror forceful.  You're the ugliest creature of God I have ever seen and you're arrogance seems to have no bound. MAGGIE Lucy's voice cut me in my sentence as she forced me to sit down.

Look here young girl said the elder man handing me papers . Your father and I signed these documents ten years ago . He promised to give this your sister to my son in exchange of this house so if I were you I better shut up . I looked at the documents and this is not different from slave trade I said to myself. 

I tore the documents into small pieces as I stood up. Sir you made an agreement to buy my sister when she was thirteen years are you even sane? We will go out of your house but don't dare lay your filthy hands on my sister. Before I knew it I had a hot slap landing on my cheeks . You bastard your sisters knows everything we told her last year. In five days from now it will be her wedding and you're not even invited. 

You're restricted from meeting her from the day she gets married to my son he said in a very scary voice. And if you try to run away you know exactly what we can do he said standing up. Tears were now rolling down my cheeks as I start to imagine life without Lucy. 

Everything will be fine Lucy said in a tear filled voice after they had left. But how will you live with such a beast Lucy I said crying so hard. I have to go Maggie. This is the only way I can protect you or else they will sell me to an island to drug dealers. She said trying to comfort me.

Days ran so fast and before I knew it, it was Thursday morning the day for Christmas eve.  I prayed so hard and wished for the miracle . I wished days would go back but to no avail.

. We sat in the sitting room waiting for our nightmare to happen just then we had a knock on the door. I held so tight on Lucy as the knocking seemed to continue.  She let go of me and headed towards the door as tears rolled down my cheeks. 

What do you want from here I heard Lucy's voice and decided to go and see who was at the door. It was that evil guy who had tortured my sister weeks back. Am here to.... eeeeehhh whatever you've come to do just go back I said cutting through his sentence. Leave or I shout for help I said closing the door in his face. 

Five minutes later he knocked again and I decided to give him a piece of my mind. I opened the door with a lot of energy but what I saw took the last bit of hope that was left in me. It wasn't him anymore . I quickly tried to lock the door but I was too late.
