She Did It - Episode 17

 

Bimpe got to her house, and different thoughts started racing through her mind. Her mind was restless. She was feeling uneasy, and couldn't cook or do any other house chore. She logged to her Instagram account, skimmed through her home page, went to the explore more, searched for, "Beams Kitchen". She had been following the page and always saw their posts . She got to the page and saw some uploaded foods ready to be ordered. She ordered for egusi soup, with two ponmo, a lap of chicken and two Titus fish. She paid through online transaction. It was to be delivered in thirty minutes. She boiled water with a boiling ring and made eba waiting on the courier to arrive.

In twenty minutes time, there was a knock on the door. She opened and it was the courier. A short dark lady in her early twenties. Bimpe thanked her and gave her gratuity. She thanked Bimpe, smiled and left. Bimpe smiled too.

She emptied the soup in a wide round ceramic plate. It was covered with the assortment of meat, giving it so much command. She took a mould of eba, second one, third one......... And she lost an appetite. She tried to lick the soup with her spoon but the same. She couldn't eat the chicken and ponmo either, but was able to eat the fish. She washed her hand and took the plates to the kitchen

. She thought of sleeping, maybe she will get over the worries. She took a shower and entered inside her bedroom to sleep. She laid in her beautifully well arranged bed and slept off.

Tola stayed over in Sheila's house. They performed some menial house duties together. After, they were done, they tuned to E! Entertainment, staying glued to Keeping up with the Kardashain's.

"These girls show is becoming annoying. Nothing spectacular", Sheila said.

"And that their dad's abi mum's programme eh?", Tola asked and laughed.

"Their mum ke? They all co-own this programme", Sheila said pointing at the television. Tola shook her head.

"Babes, are you a learner? I'm talking about their transgendered father", Tola said. They both broke into laughter.

"Caityln Jenner? Shim's 'Cait' programme", Sheila said.

"Shim? What's that?", Tola questioned inquisitively. 

"Madam, shim, is neither male or female", Sheila said. They both gazed at the television, until Tola got tired and changed to African Magic Epic. 

"I think we go out less these days", Sheila said.

"Don't worry. It's a matter of time. We are even going out sooner with enough grooving. How far that your bobo?", Tola asked and made a face.

"You mean David? But you have his contact too?", Sheila said.

"It was just for that night. Nothing after that", Tola said.

"Really? Well we do chat, phone call, video call and exchanged nudes", before Sheila could finish. "Nude??", Tola asked looking exasperated.

"Babes, it's nothing and no big deal there", Sheila said.

"Okay, have fun", Tola said.

"You too. He even came to my mind before I could think of this outing, and also about our going out less", Sheila said.

"Whatever!", Tola yelled and snapped.

"Jealousy. Your baby girl to the world", Sheila said and twirled around.

They woke up in the morning, did morning rituals and got dressed for an extended friend's baby shower. Nicole was Sheila's course mate and closest friend back in the university.

. They both studied Microbiology. She had been married for four years, before she got pregnant. The baby shower was expected to be lightening with fun and activities.

"Babes, I invited David. He is coming", she said and made a dance move.

"Why? And what's my business anyway?", Tola said with a shock, before she batted an eyelid.

"I need to flaunt my guy in their face. People think successful ladies can't have it all. Shake off your stiffness and be happy for me", Sheila said with pride.

"You say? Can't have it all?. As if you have it all. Not everyone cares, darling", Tola said. She immediately picked her bag.

"Whatever", Sheila snapped.

"Stay there, I'm leaving you here if you are not fast enough", Tola said as she left the sitting room. Sheila zipped her bag, and yelled "wait for me o!". She ran outside, locked the door and caught up with her at the car.

Tola drove, and Sheila sat at the other front seat, which was the side of the driver's seat.
