She Did It - Episode 20

 

"Good morning", Bolanle maidservant greeted. Bolanle wasn't in her office yet. She was in the kitchen carrying out some activities she preferred to do by herself.

"Can we go in?", Mr Coker said.

"Yes, you can, and have a seat", she said and pointed at sofas lying in the sitting room. She remembered Dominique facially . They all took seats after each other. The maidservant scurried into the kitchen to inform her. She told her to tell them to wait for her. She heeded and went to inform them that Bolanle would be with them sooner.

In less than fifteen minutes, Bolanle arrived. 
"Good day, my daughter", Mrs Coker greeted, stood and hugged her.

"Good day, Ma and Sir. How are you Dominique?", Bolanle asked.

"I am good. We are here", she replied. Bolanle went in details to explain to them about her findings and they nodded and shook heads.

"But, there is this question I want to ask. You said Sheila never received a call that day? Do you know if she came with any of her friends that waited for her at the car?", she asked.

"Not really, none of us went out with her when she left", Mr Coker said.

"Only our gateman can answer, but I doubt if he was aware or will still remember", Dominique said.

"Why won't he remember? Is that not his work?", Mrs Coker yelled. They all laughed and calmed her down

. Bolanle stood immediately with her back facing them.

"But you said Sheila loved Rowland very much?" she asked rhetorically.

"Yes, but I can't really say", Dominique stuttered. Bolanle turned her back, facing them and looking into their eyes.

"I just wanted to hear that yes. From my investigation. Bimpe was the murderer by the aid of a man", Bolanle said. She gave them the description of the man, which the gateman of John's company gave her. And the one Sheila's gateman gave her, coupled with the information that he always saw the man with Rowland.

"Who could that be?", Mr and Mrs Coker turned towards each other.

"Demilade, I think", Dominique blurted.

"Demilade!!, my son's friend", Mrs Coker screamed.

"How possible? They are best friends", Mr Coker said with frowns written all over his face.

"I'm not saying it's him. I'm only aligning him to the description. By the way, my brother's friend had nothing doing and can do anything for huge amount of money", Dominique said, and broke down into tears.

"It's okay", Bolanle came close to console her.

There was some silence in the sitting room, as the maidservant came from the kitchen and whispered to Bolanle.

"Oh, the food is ready. I think you all should join me", Bolanle said. They all converged to the dining table, dished food in plates and ate to satisfactions.

While eating, Mrs Coker started another conversion.

"I hope the culprit is brought to book. Rowland was our only son and his death shattered our dreams for him", She said. She tried to put a spoon in her mouth and a drop of tears tickled off from her eyes. She used a serviette to clean it off.

"If left to me, I will say you should drop the case. I'm getting tired. He was the black sheep of the Coker's family. My brother's son are all doing well in their fields except him. l I gave him all I had. Good education, life and whatever most people crave, but he preferred a wayward life and keeping miscreant as friends. But my wife always supported him which I'm always angry about till today when I remember.. Bringing Sheila, a hardworking fashion designer as his fiancé was a breath of fresh air to us. We thought he finally made a good decision in life. But here we are", Mr Coker said with so much anger.

"I'm so sorry, my husband. I was doing it because he was our only son.

. I know I erred", Mrs Coker said. Bolanle was getting uncomfortable.

"It's okay, Ma and Sir. God knows the best. We will get to its root", Bolanle said.

"But there is something I'm thinking of. Since my investigation and evidence showed Sheila isn't the murderer, I think I should invite her over and play with her psychological emotions to get some information from her. After that, the case would be lodged and Bimpe will be arrested for trials", Bolanle said.

"Seriously? What if she is an accomplice. I don't totally trust her. I had been having scary dreams about her. Don't take any chance", Dominique said.

"Don't worry. Once bitten twice shy. I'm vigilant now and can take care of myself", Bolanle assured.

"Please do" Mrs Coker said.

"Thank you for coming around", Bolanle thanked them and accompanied them outside where there car was packed, her gateman opened the gate, as they drove out.
