Ada's Dilemma 2
Ada and the other girls were taken to a very large building where they saw various people lurking around and managing their businesses.
“Raheem, take them upstairs and register them with Mr. Scope”, the leader of the men commanded.
They then climbed upstairs to an office where Mr. Scope was sitting down with his leg crossed when they entered.
“Good morning Raheem”, he said as the door opened.
“Good morning Mr . Scope, these are the new girls and they are unregistered yet”, Raheem explained.
“Okay then, take the log book over there”, Raheem said as he pointed to the direction of a big black book in one corner of the office.
The girls wrote their name and they were redirected to a room that had a counted where outsiders could see what was going on inside the room.
‘’what are we doing here?
Chinyere asked curiously before Raheem left.
Buyers from outside will come over here to purchase you’’,
Raheem said.
‘’Purchase?” Ada asked surprisingly.
“What do you mean by purchase?” She added
‘’Don’t worry, you will find out very soon’’, Raheem added and left immediately.
‘’So you mean we are like bread that some people will just come to purchase”? Chinyere said angrily.
Just then, a very fat woman walked in with her face full of makeup; she went straight to the counter and she pointed straight to Sandra, and she said, ‘’you’’.
Sandra was shocked; putting her hand on her chest, she said ,‘’me’’?
“Yes you “, she yelled at her while the others watched frightened.
Sandra stood up to her feet and sound of chains could be heard dragging on the floor.
‘’Come on, bring the key to the chains and to the door and stop wasting my time here’’, she yelled at Raheem angrily.
Raheem went straight to the door, unlocked it and the chains on Sandra’s legs.
The fat woman went to get a seat so as to interrogate Sandra. ‘’What is your name?” She asked.
“My name is Sandra”, She answered with her voice shaking.
‘’Do you know how to sell in a shop or supermarket?’’ the woman asked furiously.
“Yes ma, I used to work in my aunt’s shop”, Sandra replied and her voice was still shaking.
“Okay then, you are fit for the job”, the woman said as she brought out some currency notes from her purse and gave them to Raheem.
Sandra looked back to the counter and tears filled her eyes and that of her friends who were already soaked with tears

This process went on and buyers came to take the others also.
Chinyere and Nnkenna got separated as they were been bought by different buyers. Their friendship experience stopped right there and all that remained of it was the memories of their friendship together.
When the buyer came to take Okpala, Cynthia begged that she should take the two of them but it was all to no avail. Okpala was dragged out by the angry looking woman.
Aba was the only one being bought by a man. The man seemed to be nice but he was certainly a wolf in sheep’s clothing.

It was getting dark and buyers seemed to have stopped coming.
Raheem took the keys to the counter and wanted to return Ada back to the cell so that they might continue the business the next day when…
“Wait, don’t go yet”, a thin voice said immediately. Raheem stopped and looked back and saw a young woman of about thirty years of age approaching them. Ada watched on and tried to discern what her face is about to turn out to be.
“I need a housemaid”, she said to Raheem eagerly.
“Okay then, we have one person remaining”, Raheem said pointing to Ada.
“Thank goodness”, she said as she brought out some currency from her red bag.
Then, Raheem unlocked the door and the chains on Ada’s legs and she followed the woman to her car.
