Robin - Episode 3
The journey from Swahili to Banjul was an expedition for me and dad tales kept me awake, on our way I imagined how Banjul would look like, its culture and the nature of its people. I overheard a woman talking about Banjul festive period, it’s a day nobody wants to miss; people trooping in from different villages to celebrate the festive period while those outside the country and outside the state also comeback to celebrate that day.
Banjul festival is one of the biggest festivals in our country and one of the recognized in Africa, even the outlanders are not exempted and they used that day as a day of tourism. Clans in their colors of attires which is a symbol of their clan and you need to see the young ones loving up.
I still can’t forget six years ago, right in the mood of celebration an handsome young man walked up to me; in the world of imagination I was lost and my blood freezing cold as all I did was stare at my own imagination as he spoke . My dear for the very first time I felt my emotions glowing while my feelings turned against me, the hard-to-get like my friends do call me as suddenly falling for the milk of a bee.
My friends could not believe when I introduced him to them and they were like “Nene, what’s going on?”.
(Smiling) your eyes are not seeing the wrong thing my friends, in life the chewy becomes tender, the puissant becomes impotent.so my friends it’s time to take a new direction because love don’t care who you are or where you from and who you know or what you have.
So my dear friend true love doesn’t come easily and all one need in a relationship is understanding and be ready to be submissive. Look at me now; I’m happily married to the love of my life with two kids.
Truly my friend, our people do say “He who loves, loves you with your dirt and when one is in love, the cliff becomes a meadow without the concern of rumors”

. I can’t wait for the festive period maybe the gods will show it mercy because love is a painkiller and I’ll look like you, even in marriage you still glow like the moon.
(Smiling) Marriage is not what you think it is my friend; there is a saying “Love is the reason in marriage, lifelong friendship is the gift, kindness is the cause and til’ death do us part is the length”. So if you’re prepared you should put into consideration “A happy marriage is the union of two forgivers and is like a fingerprint; each one is different, each one is beautiful”.
