Ifeoma was four years and Yewande got pregnant again.
As usual, she had been experiencing fever which was accompanied with vomits.
"The second pregnancy had been more stressful and hectic than her first", she always tell her friends.
She needed a house help from her relative or Emeka's own who they could trust but it was scarce as they had been tagged outcast.
She always had the thought that it was a bad luck marrying Emeka but wavered it and regretted getting pregnant for him.
But his affluence always consoled her.
This pregnancy had left her with a swollen leg, which came it two folds compared to the first.
Chubbiness, swollen parts and others doubled, and she became lazier.
They had a happy home but not with happy relatives..
Nobody supported their marriage except friends..

"I think you should take me to hospital", Yewande yelled.
She had become more restless.
It was 8:00am on a Saturday morning.
Ifeoma was still fast asleep.
Emeka was preparing to leave for shop.
"You know I need to get to the shop and have my eyes on the boy I placed there", Emeka said sadly.
"I know", Yewande writhed in pain.
Emeka was brooding in thoughts.
"Okay, but no one to take care of Ifeoma when she wakes up", Emeka said to Yewande.
"You'll be back soon", Yewande replied.
He carried her to the car and locked the door hoping Ifeoma doesn't wake up till they came back.
He dropped her in the hospital and started coming back.
At home, Ifeoma was awake searching frantically for someone in the sitting room as she cried away.

"Aww, who beat you" Emeka muttered as he opened the door, came in and carried her up.
"You know daddy loves you", Emeka said.
As Ifeoma gazed into his eyes, rolling her eyes in clockwise motion.
He made her not to cry any longer after consoling her
He had to bath her, get her dressed, feed her and take her along to his shop.

At the hospital,
Yewande card number was fifteen, 15.
It was her turn, as a chubby black nurse on a flat black shoe, came in to the visitor's lodge, and led her to the doctor's office.
"Good day and have your seat", Dr. Funmilayo posited.
"Thank you", Yewande said as she seats.
"You are Mrs Yewande Okeke", Dr

. said.
"Uhh....", Yewande stuttered.
"Okay, this is your seventh month Pregnancy, what could be the problem?', Dr queried.
"My pregnancy symptoms had doubled", Yewande said.
Doctor allowed her to finish talking as she prescribed drugs for her and another nurse led her to the pharmacist to get them.

"I guess you can't go home alone, your condition seems critical", the nurse said.
"Yes, my husband is coming to pick me soon", she said.
There was a woman selling amala and ewedu outside the hospital.
She had her amala in a bowel while her ewedu was in a bronze pot.
She begged the hospital attendant to help her get one, as she managed to swallow half of it.

An hour time, her husband arrived with her child.
She was pleased.
"Hey dear, I'm here", Emeka said.
"Thank you for coming, I'm tired of this place and smell of drugs", she replied.
"Now, can we go", Emeka dragged her gently into the car and they drove off.
"Mummy is here", she said turning backward to Ifeoma who sat at the back of the car, and she giggled.

January 1984
Yewande was in a critical labour. She has been in labour since the preceding day.
Next morning, doctor and nurses were running helter skelter, while Emeka was sweating profusely trying to ease himself of tension.
"Push, push", the midwife yelled with sweats covered her face.
It had been some hours of stress.
"I'm trying", Yewande muttered in a low voice.
"Incessant crying", a baby voice could be heard.
Praises was filled in the labour room as they all took turn to praise God and shout Alleluia.
"Good day, Mr Emeka", a tall slender nurse said.
"Uhh, with his eyes wide open and shirts covered with sweats", he gasped and looked into her eyes.
"Congratulations, your wife had just delivered a bouncing baby boy", she stretched her hand forward. Emeka returned his and they exchanged handshakes.
He was so ecstatic.
"Mother and son are in a great condition, you can be with them in an hour time", she said and walked away.
He shouted in his mind, "Emeka junior".

Yewande was doing perfectly fine and baby was in the cart.
"Hey, dear, I hope you are okay", Emeka said and came closely to the bed.
"Yes, I am", Yewande said.
They had a long chat till it was evening and he went home to be with Ifeoma.

At home,
"Hello dear, mummy just delivered a baby for you", Emeka said raising her up.
"Baby", she innocently.

The next day at shop, Dozie and Chinedu came to congratulate him.
"How far, guy', they both chorused.
They shook hands and took a seat.
"Two already, and we dey here", Dozie taunted.
And they all laughed.
"I assume it's high time, you all got married", Emeka said.
Emeka sent his sales boy to get drinks for them and they all drank and chatted away.
"Boy or girl, now?", Chinedu asked.
"Emeka junior", he replied
"Oh boy, you be sharp shooter o", they both said.
He laughed and they all did.

Next day,
Emeka, Ifeoma and Yewande's sister, Tope, who had ignored their Father's advice not to associate with Yewande, came to visit after she heard about her sister's delivery.
They all headed to hospital to bring baby and mother home.
"Wow, who am I seeing", Yewande surprisingly said as they hugged.
"I hope you haven't gone against father's wish", Yewande asked.
Tope wanted to lie but refrained as that might send an indication to Yewande that their father is cool with her and will raise her hope high.
"No, and it's not a problem", she said.
Yewande was sure disapointed.
They all entered the car and Emeka drove them home.
