Redemption - Episode 4

 

Ten comments on the last episode. Hmmmm. I have been having pretty serious headaches for the past few days but I still try and update. You guys should try and encourage me with comments na. Or if you don't like this story, you can make it known to me in the comment box.

"Bennie! Your friends are here for you!" Phillip's deep voice wake me from my beauty sleep and I groan in protest. I look at my alarm clock and see the time is just few minutes past eight . I already did my morning chores when dad woke me up about three hours ago for morning devotion and I thought I would finally be able to get more sleep seeing as I was up late thinking about the guy at the bar. Lord, help my soul. I can still feel his breathe against my skin when he kissed my cheek. I can still feel his hot lips on my cheeks. I can still smell the subtle scent of his perfume. My God I shouldn't be thinking about a guy at all much less an older guy.
  All through the night I stared at my phone while battling with myself on whether I should call him or not about his offer. My door bursts open and I see Ade peek her head in. She grin at me and I can't help but smile.
"Get out of the way" Juliet push Ade into the room then shut the door. Her eyes are currently drilling holes into me

. I turn to Ade then raise my brow at her in question and Ade just shrug.
"She was worried yesterday when she got our text about coming home in Luis's car"  Ade explain.
"What were you thinking? I can understand if Ade did something that stupid but bennie I can't understand that you let her rope you into her flirting lifestyle" Juliet fire at me and I sigh. She's right. I shouldn't have but do I regret it? Not really. The butterflies in my stomach are awesome souvenirs I wouldn't trade for silver and gold.
"Give her a break Jules. We were kind of stranded. There's no harm done." Ade defends.
"Then what's that lovestruck look on her face?" Jules ask and I turn beet red. Am I that transparent.
"You can't blame the girl. Luis is a big catch. He's successful and very good looking. Don't you have that look on your face whenever Favour walks in?" Ade says and I watch Jules go redder than me. She has a crush on my brother? Favour, the grumpy one and not Phillip who is awesome. I raise my brows at her and she grins.
"Come on. He's cute." She says. Ade and I burst into fitful laughter. I hold my stomach because it hurts from laughing too hard. My door flies open again and I pity the hinges.
"Will you girls keep it down in here!" No other person but Favour fire at us. Everyone goes silent but not for long. Ade and I can't hold back the laugh as we burst into another round of laughter.
"Is there a comedy show in here?" Philip peek his head inside my room while grinning.
"Ask them. Teenage girls. So annoying." He says under his breathe and Philip punch his shoulder playfully.
"Dad wants you all down for breakfast" Favour spit out before storming off. I am afraid my friend has no chance with that one.
"Sometimes I think he has a hot iron stuck up his ass" Philip whisper to us and we all laugh together except Jules who is currently pouting.
"I better go down and help set the table before the hulk comes back up." Philip wink at us and Ade giggle. Of course Phillip is note suited for Ade. Both of them are blatant flirts.
"Favour is the hulk. How do you like that attitude?" Ade ask Jules as soon as Philip walk away. Jules throw her an evil look and Ade turn her attention to me.
"So are you going to call him?" I see Jules turn to me.
"What do you think?" I ask Jules who's the level headed one of the three of us.
"I don't know. I think he's way too old for you but you can't lose the opportunity of recording a few of your songs. Maybe you should call him about that and nothing else for now. Education comes first sweetie. No matter how fine guys are around us" she gives me a wane smile and I nod.
"I would advise I go with you but my sister needs me right now" Jules continues and my interest is piqued.
"Oh yea. It slipped my mind. How did the introductions for your sister's wedding go? When is the traditional  marriage gonna be" I ask.
"I don't think there will be any wedding."Ade says sounding serious.
"Why?" I ask Jules.
"Turns out her suitor is a yahoo boy. Yahoo plus for that matter. Yesterday was chaotic. His ex who was looking like an HIV patient crashed the introductions pointing accusing fingers at him for ruining her life." Jules narate and I stare at her open mouthed. The issue of these online fraudsters have become so prevalent these days but it has never been this close to home.
"That guy who looks like a saint? He doesn't have their tattoos and piercing or haircut" I interject.
"His ex claimed her pants started missing few weeks before she started bleeding abnormally and he broke up with her. She was looking so malnourished and lifeless"
"Don't judge a book by it's cover bennie" Ade who has been quiet for a while puts in and I see the solemn look on her face.
"I think i am going to break up with Silas. He says he doesn't use rituals for his hustle online but I don't want to end up like that poor woman" Jules nod her approval and I squeeze her hand in support.
"Come on let's go downstairs. Seeing as I am going to be single soon, I should go and make Phillip fall in love with me" Ade jokes and we all rush downstairs giggling and I make a resolve to call Luis. I can't fall for him but at least I can accept his offer to help me.

Lucas:

"Thanks for the meal mom. I wouldn't be home for lunch though." I stand up from my chair at the dining table.
"Where are you going? Are you going to be late?" My m question and I shake my head.
"Leave him alone. He probably wants to go play Dj for those worthless people he calls clients"my dad spit out without looking up from his plate of jollof rice.
I don't correct him about his calling me a Dj. I just ignore him.
"I should be back for dinner mom" I start walking out when I hear Luis call out for me to wait. I stop and wait impatiently as he cleans his plate of food before joking to where I am standing.
"Come on, let's talk outside" he pulls me by the arm and I follow behind him as he walks out.
"I kind of told a girl you can help her with her music today. Just some production stuff in your studio behind the house" he tells me while scratching his head awkwardly.
"I already have something planned. Can't you schedule her later?" I say impatiently. I have to start the search of my star and he's delaying me.
"I don't think that would work. I don't want her to change her mind.

. She's a little skittish." He gives me pleading eyes and I feel my self bulge.
"Okay, fine. I would be back before 2pm." I start walking away but he grabs my hand.
"If you could just hand me the keys to the studio. I don't want her to be in the house with dad since he isn't going to work today. I could just let her in and entertain her while we wait for you" he scratches his head again and i shake my head. He surely has something in mind for that poor girl. She is probably talentless and luis is using my studio to lure her. Well, I always have his back. I pull my keys out of my pocket and throw it to him. He catches it without stress and grin.
"And please no s-x in my studio" I tease and he hit me playfully.
"This one isn't like the rest. She's special" he says and I wave at him as I hurry to my car.

I hope I find her today. I send a silent prayer to the heavens before driving out.
