"Did you hear a gunshot???" Anthony asked running inside the abandoned house. He didn't care whether it was safe or not, all he wanted was his little girl to be safe...
When they walked inside, Isabelle was standing there like a statue looking at the failed mission. Kevin tried to jump through the window  but he was shot and died on the spot....
Reginah's eyes were still shut only to open them and see Jayson lying in his pool of blood. He was not moving. . All kinds of thoughts ransacked Reginah's mind as she tried so hard to keep herself under control.
She knelt down beside him and took him in her arms shaking him," Jay, open your eyes. Please wake up.." She begun crying holding him in her chest., "Don't leave me, we have a race to win remember..."

Anthony lifted the sobbing Reginah from the ground as Mike and Carlos took Jayson to the helicopter. Maggie and Mary hugged the weak Reginah who cried on their shoulders asthey rubbed her back soothingly," We were worried sick Riri.... I am glad you are okay..." Maggie lamented...
"Please don't let him die, I don't want him to die...Guys please save him...Dad please..." those were the last words Reginah said before fainting in her dad's arms...
Anthony quickly carried her to the helicopter and they flew off. Isabelle was still not over the shock that Jayson got shot instead of Reginah..

. She couldn't believe her plan just blew up right on her face...
Her and Kevin were taken to the police station whereas Reginah and Jayson in the hospital.
Jayson was immediately rushed to the operation room where the bullet was removed. Luckily the bullet didn't hit any vital organs but he had lost a lot of blood... His condition was critical as he had suffered acute leukemia before and had a weak immune system....
Reginah was doing okay, she was only weak and dehydrated....
The team from Isabelle's house arrived as soon as they got the news and Diana wasn't doing so good. Brad was moving around in circles wanting to see Reginah but Carlos didn't let him...
"Just go home Brad, you are not needed here..." Carlos ordered.
"But..."
"No buts Brad, you were found in the house of the mad girl that wanted to kill my sister.. You are as guilty as her... Just leave before things get nasty..." Carlos warned but Brad was as stubborn as his girlfriend....
"I said get out..." Carlos yelled pushing him," My bestfriend is fighting for his life in there and i don't know if he will make it.." He begun crying and Mike and Malcolm took him out...
Brad tried talking to Maggie, Mary and Patience but they all gave her a cold shoulder...
"Brad just stop pretending you care, all this happened because Reginah was out there looking for a someone who was comfortable in someone's arms....If something happens to Jayson I will never forgive you.." Maggie retorted....
"My phone was off and I didn't...." Maggie raised her hand to cut Brad off and they walked away to Reginah's room...
Reginah had begun being hysterical about seeing Jayson and so the doctors had to sedate her. Diana was all along on her bedside, her hand on hers.  Anthony was beside her giving her moral support...
When it came to their daughter, they had to keep their hate aside..

Days passed and Jayson was still in the ICU...Reginah was growing weak by the days since she had refused to eat or drink.. She neither left hospital or wanted to see Brad...Her focus was on Jayson. At times she would create a scene outside the ICU claiming she wanted to sleep there forcing the doctors to forbid her from seeing him.... Carlos was also by her side always waiting for his best friend to finally open his eyes. Jayson's parents at first blamed Reginah for the predicament that had befallen their son but after things were explained to them, they calmed down. They didn't want to lose their only child who had tasted death once.... Brad was shattered  seeing how weak and broken Reginah was, he wanted to hold her, comfort her, be there for her but she didn't want him anywhere near her....To her, he was a traitor....
Her father and mother tried to force her to eat but all in vain. She had no will... All she wanted was the healthy Jayson back... Brad also spent most of his times in the hospital trying to talk to Reginah but she wasn't willing to even stare at him.
Finally after lots of prayers, Jayson got out of danger and was transferred to a regular ward.. He didn't ask for his worrying parents or his best friend when he first opened his eyes but for Reginah his one true love...
"Are you okay Jayson??? Why did you do that??? Do you know how worried your parents were??? How worried I was?" Reginah cried out on his hand..
"But I am back now....I will never leave.." Jayson replied weakly.
"I am glad you are......" Suddenly the room became blurry for Reginah as she fell on the floor...
The doctors immediately took her to the ward and inserted a drip into her veins. She needed to be hydrated fast...
"I am going with her to Italy....Look at what is happening to my little girl.

. She cant stay in Kenya anymore.." Anthony stated.
"Please don't do this, our daughter is a fighter....Don't take her away...." Diana pleaded.
"What if that day she died?? What if she was the one who got shot???" Anthony asked with a voice full of rage...
"She didn't die and neither did Jayson. Her life is here..."
"She can still have a life in Italy....I don't want her being in danger anymore..." Anthony concluded....
Brad after hearing about what happened to Reginah, he stayed outside her ward waiting for her to wake up....He wanted to make things right. Talk to her, get her girl back but it didn't seem as easy as he imagined...
Everyone was still as mad and Carlos had his big brother pants on... He didn't want Brad anywhere near his sister.... When Reginah and Jayson were released from the hospital, Brad was at the parking lot waiting for them.
"Riri, can we talk please???" Brad held his hand....
"I told you to stay away from....." Reginah cuts Carlos off," Take Jayson to the car, i will be with you in a minute..."
"Brad, leave me alone....Do you know that actually that day Isabelle texted me with your phone and like a fool I went running to you. little did I know you were busy seeking comfort from her...What happened to our always and forever?? Were you so desperate to run into her arms?? Didn't i mean anything to you???Its over between us. I can't be with a man that doesn't respect me.. A man that doesn't trust me. This  is goodbye Brad..."
Reginah didn't even give him time to explain himself...She just got into the car and they drove off..
Brad could feel tears burning behind his eyes. He had messed up big time and it was gonna take more than a sorry word to make things right. If only he could go back in time and fix everything...
