Pierced Rose - Episode 73

 

Brad couldn't believe he was late, yes everything was over...
Even under so much pressure and slight errors here and there, Reginah still managed to win...

Maybe she had forgot to upshift after a missing gear or even held a brake unnecessarily but that didn't keep her from winning...

There she was, her family cheering as Jayson lifted her off the ground. She looked happy, yes she did.. . They stared deep into each other's eyes filled with a feeling of accomplishment. It was like they talked with through their eyes...

Brad looked at them with a glassy layer of tears, trying so hard to hold back.

He was the one supposed to be there with her girl but here he was treated as an outsider...

In a glimpse, Reginah noticed him...
"Brad???" She called out as Jayson placed her on the ground.
"Honey we won, honey I made it..." Reginah screamed excitedly running towards him...

"Congratulations baby, I am happy for you..." Brad tried to sound okay.
"Baby, are you alright???"
"Yeah, I am just sad.

Reginah was cut off by her dad," I am so proud of you my girl..."
"Thanks dad..." Reginah smiled hugging her.
"The CEO of motorcade safaris wanna talk to you..."
"I will be there in a while..."

Anthony was so lost in Reginah that he didn't say hey to Brad..

"Hey Brad, you are here..." Carlos retorted..
"Oooh, hello Brad???" Finally Anthony noticed him.

"Hey, I guess I am too late for the race..."
"Yeah, but you didn't miss alot..." Carlos replied...

"Renah dear, some fans want some selfies with you..." Jayson said, holding her hand, "Brad, you here..."

Brad nodded, biting his lips so hard not to beat him up..
"Yeah, but it seems I am not needed..." Brad mumbled beneath his nose...

"Our winner, we need you..." Peter beamed standing beside Reginah...
"I will be there...."

"Honey," Reginah cupped Brad's face, "I am pretty busy right now but I will see you tomorrow.."

Reginah walked away, carried on Peter's shoulders. Brad tried so hard but the sob was choking him so hard. He felt left out.

So without being noticed, he slowly walked to his car and drove away...

Had he lost the love of his life???? Was he the intruder??? Did Reginah and Jayson belong together???? Those were the thoughts driving him nuts.... He felt defeated even thou he wanted her so bad, her happiness came first...

Reginah was carried away with the celebrations that the next day she couldn't feel her head...It was like someone had replaced her head with a heavy metal...
She couldn't recognise the girl in the mirror, she looked like hot mess and to make things worse Jayson was beside her...

"Jayson, wake up!!! What are you doing here???" Reginah shook him.
"Let me sleep in peace girl..."
"Excuse you, what are you doing in my bed???"
"Ask the drunk you, who didn't wanna let my hand go..."

Regina scratched her hand and tried to remember but nothing...

"Okay, get out..." Reginah tried pushing him out of the bed but it was like massaging hulk..
"What are you trying???"
"Just get out, I wanna shower and go see Brad. It's strange that he hasn't even called me..."

Reginah arrived at Brad's apartment and it was locked... She unlocked the door and looked around but he wasn't around.... 

Something felt weird but Reginah couldnt put her hand at it.  She walked to the room only to find the closet empty..
Where was her love???

With no hesitation, she drove at their home only to find Kara watering the flowers.
"Hey Ma!!! Where is Brad???"
"Hey dear, let's get inside...." Kara beamed, walking her in...

"Coffee or juice????"
"Ma, I just wanna see Brad. It's unlike him not to call me in the morning. Is he alright????"

Kara was silent for a while before giving her a letter, "Sorry dear, he left..."

"What do you mean he left???" Reginah stammered.
"He went to Spain..."
"Without telling me????" Reginah could feel tears burning her eyes, memories of Jayson leaving flooding her mind. 

"I thought he did..." Kara replied shockingly.
"He didn't..." Reginah murmured, wiping the tears from her cheeks...

"His flight is in an hour's time, you can still catch up with him..." Kara advised, hugging her...
"Thank you..." 
Reginah placed the letter in her bag and left running...

She tried to drive as fast as she could but it seemed fate wasn't on her side.... The traffic jam on her way to the airport was hectic and exhausting that she spent forty minutes on the road...

When she arrived on the airport, Brad's flight had already left.....
