Pierced Rose - Episode 72

 

The launch of the new branch of Muigai's shipping company in Spain was a success.

A party was being held at the Muigai's mansion but only Brad, his mother, dad and the guests were in attendance.....

The rest were in Dakwa grounds watching the motorbike race and of course give Reginah some moral support....

Yeah Anthony would have loved to be in the party but he needed to support his daughter to at least make up for the time he was away...
Patience and Brad's friends preferred the race over tuxedos...Who could blame them???! They were to way many formal parties and needed to know how the streets rolled....

Brad was walking around the ball room wearing the perfect smile at least he thought he smiled...He was lonely, he wished to be at Dakwa watching the race but here he was stuck in a room with money making addicts, some champagne, whisky, food and lots of business advices and lectures....

No one to gossip with apart from some rich spoilt girls who weren't enticing at all...

"Hey Brad," Brad heard a sweet familiar voice behind him...
"Linda, what are you doing here???? I am so surprised to see you..." Brad stared at her like she had two heads ..

"Will you keep on staring at me or will you come here and give me a hug???" Linda outstretched her arms... 
"You look so beautiful and different..." Brad stammered sizing her up before finally hugging her..  

"I kinda lost some weight there...But where is your girlfriend???? Calvin can't stop talking about her...." Linda looked around...

"She has a race tonight and so she couldn't be here with us..." Brad replied sadly.. 
"Don't worry I am here for you

.  I know this party is driving you nuts.. So we can go at the balcony like the us days and you can tell me all about your new found love..." Linda suggested pulling him out of there..

Linda sat beside Brad, pouring them  some wine....

"So tell me about her????" Linda sipped her wine, all her attention on Brad who was smiling like a fool on the thought of Reginah...

"She is an amazing woman.. She is very beautiful and intelligent but I can't forget how stubborn and hot tempered she can be sometimes... We fight like really a lot but she will always be my chocolate girl..The girl who completes me. The girl who makes my life whole again..The girl who taught me how to love..She will always be my Reginah.."

Linda could feel the love in Brad's voice when he talked about his chocolate girl....There was that spark in his eyes that she never saw when they were dating...

To him, she was just another girl to pass time with before another one popped up. When  he dump her, she went for days begging him to take her back but he really didn't seem to care. When they were dating Brad wasn't the commitment kind of a guy. Yes he loved her but he was always playing her around with other girls....

"But why didn't you love me like you love your chocolate girl as you call her????"

"Because I was a guy who wanted to live life. You were my first love and people make lots of mistakes with their first love...." Brad pointed out and Linda nodded sadly...

Brad could see the sadness in her eyes, he knew he was one of the reasons she left from Los Angeles and that she still loved him. That made him feel bad, if only he could punish his young self...

Brad held her hand to at least try make things slightly better,"I am sorry I was a horrible boyfriend back then but I am a changed man.  I hope you forgive me.."
"I already did. Plus I am so glad you found your true love, too bad I didn't meet her..."
"Don't worry you will meet her soon.."

"I don't think so because you and I are supposed to fly to Spain tomorrow..."
"What????" Brad felt like he was almost having a cardiac arrest...
"Your dad didn't tell you, you are supposed to be in charge of the new branch in Spain..

How was Brad to know about it when he has been avoiding his father since the drama during his party and tonight he was compelled to act all perfect son...

"Son, so I see you and Linda are catching up????" Mr Muigai interrupted them.
"Dad, why did you not tell me that I am going to Spain????" Brad yelled walking towards his Dad...
"Son in my office now!!!!"

In the office

"Dad, what about my life here???? You know that me and Reginah aren't in a good place right now.  I don't wanna leave...."
"Son is only for six months.. " Anthony placed his hand on his shoulder.  
"Don't touch me dad!!!!I am still mad at you." Brad dropped his hand angrily...
"Its not about you but about our company...Your brother is in Italy, I am in France dealing with some theft issues and you have to go to Spain. I know you mad at me but you have no option in this decision."

"What about my relationship??? Right now we are like earth and Pluto. What about six months??? She will have moved on and I am scared...."

"Son you are a Muigai...she can come with you for two weeks and be visiting you every month....Its not that hard..."

"Is that how you juggle two families??? You seem like a pro..." Brad rolled his eyes..

"I love them both... Do you know..."

Brad butted in,"I don't need your disgusting details. I am off to see the race.. All the best with your party..." 
"I wanted to introduce you to the associates...."

"Not now dad...." And he stormed off.

"Brad, wait.. " Linda tried calling out on him.
"See you tommorow Linda, now I have a race and a girlfriend to support.."

Brad ran to his car and drove like a crazy man to Dakwa.
