Palm lines 2 - Episode 30

 

Ade's POV

All plans to make Tasha untie the both of us failed woefully. 
Later In the day, while Tasha discussed about Sharon and how she has influenced Sharon's popularity, I told Tasha that I would love to use the toilet.
She picked up her gun then she went behind untying the rope.
In my imagination, i hit her on her face with my elbow and we engaged in a struggle for the gun but in reality I feared it might not work and I feared for Sharon's life too. 
It was just me, making any move would have been easier.
 Just after she untied me, Sharon announce too that she would also love to pee"
"Are you two f*cking kidding me? One after another!" Tasha yelled.
"I can't wait" She yelled and Tasha pointed the gun at her. "Wait your turn!" "Just let her go first" Ade raised his hands, "I'll wait"
"I don't believe you" she answered and I almost rolled my eyes . Another failed plan? I asked within, "You can have me tied up till she comes back"
"We can go together" Sharon suggested, "No."
"We both have to go"
"One after the other"
"I really have to go Tasha and you're wasting time." Sharon exclaimed and she brushed her fingers through her hair.
 "I have to tie him up"
"Not like Ade will run away, If he does you'll definitely kill me"  "Yes I will. You heard that Ade, if you f*cking try anything shitty, I'll kill her" she threatened pointing the gun at Sharon's head.

. I promise not to do anything stupid!" 
"Just letting you know" she untied Sharon then she directed her to the toilet with her gun pointed subsequently at me and then at her. 
After i was left alone and I sighed in joy. I couldn't believe it worked!
Just as I was about to pick the phone up, Tasha walked in and I looked away. 
"Don't try anything stupid!" She warned again and I responded with a nod.
"Or I'll blow Sharon's head off" then she went back Into the bathroom.
My heart thumped in fear, I stared at the phone and the only thing I could think of was, what if I get caught? 
I didn't know whether she will sneak up on me as just did, I wasn't even sure if Sharon would be able to stall enough for me to send a message to her father.
I bent down a bit watching the bathroom door. Then I picked up my phone. It was turned off so I turned it on. 
I quickly dialed Mr Savage's number and he picked up the call. "Thank God you called" he sighed.
"Erika has been"
"I don't have the time to talk" i cut in in whisper. "Where are you?"
"Tasha's house. She had us tied down and she's planning on killing us, she has gone bonkers"
"I'll call police"
"Tread in smartly, preferably without sirens. Please any wrong move will be a risk on Sharon's life and my life too" I added then I hung up turning off the phone.
I dropped the phone the moment I saw Tasha walk in and I followed too.

"When are we going to die?"  I asked afterwards, "Are you that eager to die Ade?"
"I'm not, I'm just curious" 
"I don't know. Don't you guys just enjoy my company?" She asked and we both kept quiet.
"Why am i the one doing the talking?"  She asked and I shrugged.
"Maybe cause we don't want to talk. Can we have a moment of silence, you've been talking too much" Sharing snapped and she laughed.
"Okay" she raised a knife up. 
"I guess it's time to kill you both then"
"Why?" I asked,  "Cause I'm bored and a bored Tasha has to do something that'll interest her" she placed the knife on Sharon's face and I shut my eyes.
Where in the world are the police when you need them.
 "Let's talk about how you and Felix met. How about that?" I asked and she smirked.
"It's a very interesting story I tell you but... You're definitely trying to stall. What's the essence, you'll die anyway"
She confessed and someone knocked on the door.
"Who's it?" She asked.
"It's me" Mr Savage answered and she smiled.
"Looks like we've got company" 
"Please don't open up" Sharon cried. 
"Just leave him out of this, tell him we're not here"
"Why should I do that to a guest?" she laughed. "I'm coming Sir!" She yelled opening the door and two police charged in almost immediately pointing guns at her.
"Put your hands up where we can see them!" They demanded and she raised my hands up and the knife fell to the ground then the two police men held her by the arm and Mr Savage untied us.
She turned towards me and I grinned. 
"Let me guess, after Sharon went to pee right?" She asked and I raised my brow twice with a smile. 
"Wow, you fooled me and you two probably knew what was behind the door right?"
"I guess you're not the only one that has plans. We all do too, and it's not to die, I want to get married Tasha, I want to have kids and build an empire! I'm sorry if you don't have such plans but I do!" Sharon charged towards her and Mr Savage held her back, "Leave me let me slapped her silly!" She groaned and the police took her out.
"It's okay" he promised and she busted Into tears. 
"She was going to kill us. That b*tch killed Felix. He's that room and..." She covered her face all I wanted doing was just to wrap my arms around her and comfort her. 
"The police will handle it"  he assured then police men took her out and he followed.
Sharon leaned on my chest crying. "I could'nt believe I made it, I thought we both die" she heaved continuously and I exhaled.
"We made it love, everything will be fine. We'll have to work on that plan"
"What plan?"
"Get married, have kids and build an empire; in no particular order. I might have to get you pregnant first" I answered and she laughed now turning towards the door of the room. 
"Should I check?"
"Maybe she lied" She added and I walked to the door then I opened it. Felix laid on the floor in his own blood and I closed the door quickly. He obviously didn't deserve such a death.
I shut my eyes and Sharon cried. Just then we heard arguments outside. It was Mrs Erika's voice.
We got outside the gate only to see her Mr Savage holding Mrs Erika's waist.
"Your husband is an amazing man and we could have had amazing moments. If not for the stupid love he had for you! and you don't even appreciate what you have damn it! I've heard all the good stories about Sharon's life, about her father and her mother. I wanted you all to love me just like they loved Sharon but you hated me for no reason! I kissed your husband and I loved it, I loved the taste of his lips!" Tasha confessed,   "Let me deal with this with girl!" Mrs Erika yelled.
  "Sir, control your wife" one of the policeman begged.
"It's your wife they'll control! What effrontery! She even had the right to speak again" She snapped. 
"If mom wants to beat the craziness out of her, she should. It's not as if she doesn't deserve it" Sharon muttered and we both held hands.
The other police men escorted Tasha to the political van and for a moment, I wondered why she wasn't handcuffed. 
The other police man was still talking to Erika. "We've arrested her already Ma, there's no point trying to beat her. Just have a rest of mind that the police will handle this matter with all professionalism" the police man promised and just then I noticed Tasha remove a gun from the police man's pocket then she pointed it at Mrs Erika. 
It was all on slow motion, there was no way I could speak fast so I pushed her away and the shot was fired. 

Erika's POV

I waited outside the gate while David went in with the policemen. I prayed to God make the operation successful. 
When I saw Tasha come out, I walked up and her and I gave her a slap on her face; it was one of these slaps we termed 'dirty slap'.
"Madam' one of the police men paused, before he could complete his sentence, I pulled her hair and I pull out the extensions and one of the policemen dragged me away and I slapped him on the arm.
"Madam are you aware you're beating an officer of the law"
"And I'll beat you again and again. Can't you mind your business"
"My business is to have his woman duly arrested"
"What's going on?" David asked and I ignored him still facing the police men.
"Do you know what this woman has done to my home?"
"And I'll do it again if I have the chance to" Tasha answered and i charged towards her. This time David held me back, his hands wrapped around myself waist.
"Your husband is an amazing man and we could have had amazing moments. If not for the stupid love he had for you! and you don't even appreciate what you have damn it! I've heard all the good stories about Sharon's life, about her father and her mother. I wanted you all to love me just like they loved Sharon but you hated me for no reason! I kissed your husband and I loved it, I loved the taste of his lips!"
 "Let me deal with this with girl!" I yelled,  "Sir, control your wife" one of the policeman begged.
"It's your wife they'll control! What effrontery! She even had the right to speak again" i snapped. 
"I said I wasn't going to beat her so I don't kill her but right now I don't care" 
"We've arrested her already Ma, there's no point trying to beat her. Just have a rest of mind that the police will handle this matter with all professionalism" 
The other police man took Tasha away meanwhile I was fuming with anger. "Following a mad woman to exchange words is not really ...." David stalled and I rolled my eyes.
"That girl is insane!" I yelled. 
Suddenly I saw Ade push me to the ground and a shot was fired. I turned towards Tasha who had a gun in her hands and the police man with us fired several shot at her and she fell on the ground.
I couldn't believe the bitch tried to shoot at me. I sighed grateful for Ade who shoved me down. 
"Ade!" Sharon yelled and my attention went back to Ade who laid on the floor bleeding from having being shot.

We rushed Ade to the hospital, David had to stay back because of Felix's body. Someone had to stay to put down statements. 
Meanwhile we rushed Ade to the family hospital. I put a call through to Ade's aunt who eventually called his mom. Tuniola came in shortly too along with David.

They all gathered at the clinic as we waited to get some kind of info about him since he went into surgery.
Sharon was totally disoriented, she  was yet to change her blood stained dress and she didn't stop crying and I couldn't stop blaming myself for the gun shot. 
Maybe if I hadn't been so angry, the police would have successfully discharge their duties. "It's my fault" I said to David and he hugged me.
"No one would have foreseen this"
"I caused the distraction"
"Darling it's okay" he kissed me on the forehead. "You should go home to the kids"
"No I'm not, I have to stay with Sharon. Look how she is" I glanced at Sharon who was sitting with Franca. 
"I can't"
"The children"
"Tammie is there"
"They'll be worried" "I'll be worried too if I leave"
"Please Erika" he begged and I pressed my body against him sobbing quietly. 
In between my sobbing, Pastor Ayo came in in order to comfort us and it worked for a bit. He made us had a confidence that everything will be okay and I held through to his word. 
The doctor came out and David announced the success of the surgery but I knew there was more to it and the doctor requested to speak to David and I.
The doctor's words rang through my mind when till I got home. 
"Since he wasn't delivered the necessary Frist aid, I'm afraid he's in a critical condition. We've done our best to remove the bullet and to repair the damaged lung. He could recover quickly without complications let's say in a week,or two weeks before he can go back home to rest but I must be sincere, he has 50/50 chances of survival even after this" 
"Are you trying to say he won't survive?" 
"I've seen cases like his, while people can theoretically survive a gunshot wound to the chest, the chances of survival varies" he explained and I immediately knekt down leaning my hands on the bed. I busted into tears just before praying for Ade.
I knew it will break Sharon, even Tuni. 

Tuni's POV

Sharon called me and I finally sighed. "Where did you keep your phone? I've been trying call you all day. Your mom was worried about you, you were with Ade Shea?"
"Yeah"
"I knew it! Sharon I really need to talk to you, I'm kind of in a fix"
"Ade was shot" she Interrupted me and I scoffed.
"Like how, speak in English"
"Ade was shot with a damn gun! How well did you want me to say it again?" She snapped, "Jesus!" I exclaimed and everyone at the restaurant turned to me and I stood.
"Where are you guys?"
"Family clinic" she answered and I drove over. 
I couldn't think straight, I cried as I drove then I remembered the dream Ayo had and I busted into tears.
Sharon was completely sad, her eyes were bloodshot. I opened my arms wide and I hugged her. 
"Where is he?"
"He's in surgery" 
"Oh Jesus!" I covered my mouth. 
"And Ayo said it oh" I muttered and she raised her brow in shock.
"Said what?"
"Something about seeing you mourn over a grave and I tried comforting you but it was useless"
"Why didn't you tell me?"
"Cause we prayed over it. He wanted to go on fast but I thought it wasn't necessary so we prayed over it"
"God obviously didn't answer the prayer. We got kidnapped by Tasha and now Ade's battling for his life in there" "You just said kidnapped? What am I missing?"
"We were taken captive by Tasha. It's a long story, Maybe God didn't answer you guys prayers"
"That's not possible, God doesn't work that way" I advised and she moved away and I felt awful. 
For a moment, I began to entertain a little doubt. There was that spirit telling me to take the matter to God in prayer and seek his counsel but when I remember that I had  been given a contract I've hustled my entire life for only for it to contradict with my new faith, I felt tired to pray. 
I moved away from everyone then I busted into tears. "What if I lose Ade?" I knelt down then I brought out my phone calling Ayo. 
"Hey baby" I tried to catch my breath, "I'm really confused right now and I don't know what to do" 
"Calm down Tuni. Are you okay?" He asked and I shook my head. 
"Ade was shot and he's currently battling for his life in surgery.

I was glad Ayo showed up quick to calm everyone with the word of God. He made it so easy and when he assured everyone that Ade would be fine, it was simply hot. 
Just watching him talk to everyone, his presence was soothing. 
"I'm sorry Sister Sharon" 
"I can't imagine how you'll feel right now but I want you to know that it's going to be fine"
 "What if..."
"Nothing will happen to him, this is just the devil trying to tamper with your happiness and there's nothing prayer cannot do. You just have to be really prayerful Sister Sharon" 
"What if he dies? I mean just before the gun shot we spoke about our plans to build a home together"
"Sister Sharon!" He complained, "This is not the time to entertain fear, hold to the faith that you'll see him again and you both will accomplish your set goals"
"Okay.... " She sighed and the doctor walked towards us in a blue uniform. 
Mr Savage walked towards him suddenly he sighed walking towards us. "The surgery went well" he announced and everyone finally let out a sigh of relief.
"When will be able to see him?" Mrs Holland asked and he shook his head. 
"Not any time soon"
He soon requested Mr Savage and his wife's attention. "Doctor If there's anything you want to say about my son, you can say it in our front not tell them"
"Ma'am, everything is fine" the doctor assured but I knew things weren't all that fine. 

I walked Ayo off to his car, "Thank you for being here for us" "Anything for you Tuni" 
"I mean despite the fact that...." I stalled remembering out fight earlier on and he shrugged. 
"What you did was so so hot, and the time you spent with us. It's house fellowship night and you're here with me and I really appreciate it"
"It's okay dear. Ade will be fine, I can see how much you care for him, you all do" he chipped in and I busted in tears
again and he hugged me, gently patting my back. 
"Can we talk about what happened earlier on?" I asked and he pulled back.
"Have you made your decision?" He asked and I shook my head.
"I was just wondering if we could talk this out, maybe reach a compromise" "Good night dear" he interrupted and I folded my arms. 
"Ayo"
"I'll call you to ask how he's faring" he opened the car then he closed it leaning his head on the car then he glanced at me then he looked away.
"I love you Tuni and I'm trying to make this work. The more I see you, the deeper I fall and I really care about you and your happiness so.... If you want the movie so badly, I'm not stopping you, just do it. I won't want to get married to a woman who would only spend the rest of her life in regret because I ruined her every chance of being a movie star but you're doing it without me"
"Is that a break up?" I asked and he entered into his car, then he drove off.
